    X5 Legion accuracy

The pre-travel doesn’t bother me at all. If it did, there’s replacement triggers that you can adjust the pre-travel down to nothing

    X5 Legion accuracy

I have a tendency to “pull” the shot. If I take the time to prep the trigger, past the creep, bullet holes usually appear where I want them to be.
  3. I put a Wilson on one of my Xfives, and a legion grip on the other. The Wilson grip fits my little hands better than the Legion grip, but, according to the timer, I shoot better with the larger, heavier Legion grip.

    X5 Legion accuracy

My first carry optic gun was an M&P Pro. Apex trigger kit, and gunsmith fit Apex barrel. Best groups I could get with the stock barrel were about 2" at 25 yards, off sandbags. With the Apex barrel 4 out of 5 will be under an inch, but, I always get one flyer that spoil the group. Apex trigger isn't quite as good as my 1911s/2011s, but close. Decided against shooting carry optics for USPSA when I have 2 open guns that the dot stays in the window, whereas with the M&P the dot would always jump out of the window. Tried 160 grain bullets, which were so soft, it was almost like cheating, but, accuracy was more like 4" at 25 yards. I had some coated bullets made to .357, and accuracy was a little better, but, had issues loading them in anything other than Federal brass. Sold it to a fellow shooter. Then, IDPA started carry optics. I bought an original Xfive. Hated the trigger, so I installed a Bruce Gray competition trigger kit. I still don't love the trigger. I don't mind the slightly heavy pull, or the pre-travel, but, the creep drives me nuts. I bought a second one, because I like to have pairs. Both pistols prefer 124-125 grain jhps, and will shoot groups at 25 yards just a little over an inch. If I switch to Zero 147 jhps, or Extreme 147 hps, the groups double. If I switch to coated bullets, groups open up even more. 160 grain coated bullets just plain suck, for accuracy. when Sig came out with the Legion, I read about accuracy issues, but, the heavier grip interested me. I bought a Legion grip for one of my Xfives, and a Wilson for the other. Even though the Wilson FEELS better, and fits my small hand better than the Legion grip, shooting both while using a timer proves I do better with the heavier grip. The fellow shooter that bought my old M&P probably put 50K through it, then, bought a Legion. He said he tried a Gray Guns competition trigger kit, but, thought the trigger felt worse. He sent his Legion to the Sig armorer and I'm pretty impressed. He bought a second Legion and also sent it to the Sig armorer. I've fondled them, but, never fired them. He told me that he can only get acceptable accuracy with 124-125 grain jhps. This is coming from a shooter that was running 160 grain coated, through an M&P that I KNOW would only shoot 3-4" groups at 25 yards. I've been reading about the AGX grip. It SOUNDS like it will fit my hands a little better. I guess I'll have to stop at a gun shop and fondle some. Now, if I could only get rid of the creep in the trigger I would be happy.
  5. I dropped Gray Guns trigger kits in both of my Xfives. Defiantly have what I consider a LOT of creep in both. I’ve dropped Apex kits in a bunch of M&Ps, and they are MUCH better trigger pulls! If I could get rid of the creep on my Xfives, I’d be happy.
  6. I was running Marvel 1s for RFPO and they have TIGHT chambers, and way more accurate than needed for steel. That said, since the Obama administration, rimfire ammo's quality sucks! I couldn't find anybody that sold a case gauge for 22, so I use a Marvel barrel as a case gauge. Even with Mini mags, I probably have to wipe excess wax off. It's surprising just how many won't even START in the barrel. A few years ago, I was going to shoot RFRO with an old, stock Ruger 10/22, and made the mistake of just grabbing a brick of CCI standard velocity ammo off the shelf, that had not been case gauged, and my rifle jammed regardless of whether I used BX25 magazines, or, 10 round magazines. It turned out that the ammo had so much wax on it, they didn't even want to come up, in the magazines. I have 4, BX25 magazines, and prefer to use them, over the 10 round magazines because they are easier to clean. If you don't check your ammunition, I would suggest you start there. FYI: I just got done going through a brick of SK, for semi-auto, and all 500 LOOKED about perfect, and dropped right in a Marvel barrel, whereas, I went through 250 rounds of Eley Force, and eventhough they all dropped right in the barrel, I found 16 rounds with deformed bullets that I thought might cause feeding issues, but when I took them to the range, they actually fed fine.
  7. It appears that your scope mounts are offset to provide more clearance, for ejection, unless it's an optical illusion. What scope mounts are they? Thanks!
  8. My gen 2 likes extreme 147s with 3.2 grains of 320 no difference in accuracy between h.p. and r.n.
  9. I have the 3-gun model of Hyperfire in both of my MPXs. They both break at 2#. Even though I haven’t had any problems with either of mine, I installed an Eclipse in a fellow shooter’s Matrix Arms PCC a couple years ago, and he borrowed my extra MPX because his gun was doubling, and then apparently had hammer follow
  10. Several local clubs are running dedicated USPSA TYPE .22 matches. They are a hoot. The biggest issue is if you have any ammo that was bought, since Obama was in office, it's a roll of the dice if it will feed, or fire.
  11. Many years ago, a local guy sold Zeros. When they had a price increase, he quit selling them and almost everyone around here switched to PD. They’re just as accurate, and until the pandemic, we never had a problem with availability. Many thanks to you for posting when bullets are available!

    X5 competition load

3.1 of VV320, behind 147 grain, coated bullets Probably going to switch it over to Sport Pistol which seems just as clean, and soft at half the cost
  13. Ordered 4K of 124 JHP on Tuesday, and received them today. Thanks Again!

    38SC LOADS

I was around 8 grains of 4756, behind a Zero 125 grain jhp, when VV N350 wasn't available. just about as soft. FYI: I don't think you can possibly put too much 4756 in a 38sc case. I believe around 8 rrains, it was a compressed load. I tried downloading, for 3-gun. Don't remember exactly what the charge weight was, but didn't like it.
  15. A friend says his 365, with 10 round magazines, and pinky extensions fit in the BUG box, but going by what I have for guns that I KNOW fit, I find it unlikely. Has anyone tried it? How about trying to cram a 365XL in the CCP box?
  16. I think that the OPs question was, will it make weight
  17. I also still have some left. I get a few duds per K.
  18. If you’re using lead, or a coated bullet, that should put you in the low 130s. If jacketed, it should be less. Every barrel is different. The only way to know for sure is to chrono
  19. You don't say what bullets you're using, or OAL

    Mixing SEAR springs

I already had 2, P320 Xfives, with Bruce Gray competition trigger kits, when the Legions came out. They have no overtravel, but, when I'm shooting slow, I notice a lot of creep on the first shot, but, if I ride the sear until it just resets the trigger, there's no creep. I don't remember the exact weight. Somewhere between 2.25-2.75# I replaced one of the grip frames with the Legion, tungsten infused grip, but, don't think I'm going to spend $200 to put one on my back-up gun.

    P365 For CCW

The 365s seem to all shoot just below point of aim. I'm a little color blind, and in to the tri-focal stage of my life so I was having problems seeing the front sight with my street glasses. I replaced the front sight with a Dawsen, that's a night sight, with a white ring around it, but, is same height as stock. I think I'm eventually replace the front sight again, with a Trijiicon HD, in yellow. I have them on other carry guns, and don't have any issues seeing them. I researched LIMA365s, because I wanted to also put a green laser on my pistol, but, there were too many negative reviews. One of the issues stated was that the LIMA rubbed against your finger, making it uncomfortable to shoot. I have Crimson Trace Laserguards on two other carry guns, and have the same issue with them, so I bought a TR27 Armalaser, which has a 5 year warranty. The first one I got wouldn't hold zero. They replaced it, and so far I'm liking it better than the Laserguards.
  22. With an Apex barrel, you should be able to get pretty close to 1” groups @ 25 yards. I don’t remember if Precision Delta, Zeros, or Hornady 124 grain jhps did the best in my pistol.
  23. How clean is the gas system on your MPX, using Sport Pistol? I’ve been running nothing but VVN320 and don’t know if I could even get it apart if I go much past 500 rounds without cleaning

    P320 X5 Thread

I bought the tungsten grip module, and put it on one of my Xfives. I transferred my original weight, and tungsten guide rod. I ran some drills, to compare the two guns, and I’m not any faster with one over the other.
