  1. 5/12/18 Dry fire Drills to complete this week: Each Stage will consist of five repetitions (1 sets of 5) 1. Accelerator a. 2.61 Par Time 2. Five to Go a. 2.75 Par Time 3. The Pendulum a. 2.89 Par Time 4. Roundabout a. 2.13 Par Time 5. Outer Limits a. 4.40 par time 6. Smoke & Hope a. 2.06 Par Time 7. Showdown a. 2.23 Par Time 8. Speed Option a. 2.89 Par Time I did the dry fire in order tonight. I started with Accelerator. I was very quick on my transitions and seeing the plates very quickly. As the training progressed, I noticed I was moving the gun very quickly and efficiently tonight. I got a little sloppy with showdown right. All in all, I had a very productive dry fire session tonight. I like where my par times are currently. I’ll probably take tomorrow (Mother’s day ) off.
  2. Yeah! I'm with you. I'm not going to sit for two days for a USPSA RO certification.
  3. 5/11/18 Dry fire Drills to complete this week: Each Stage will consist of five repetitions (1 sets of 5) 1. Accelerator a. 2.61 Par Time 2. Five to Go a. 2.75 Par Time 3. The Pendulum a. 2.89 Par Time 4. Roundabout a. 2.13 Par Time 5. Outer Limits a. 4.40 par time 6. Smoke & Hope a. 2.06 Par Time 7. Showdown a. 2.23 Par Time 8. Speed Option a. 2.89 Par Time I started in reverse order tonight. Speed option was my first stage. The first two repetitions were slow. The third through the fifth repetition were faster and below par time. Showdown was smoking fast tonight. I was seeing the plates very quickly. My transitions were sharp and snapped to the plate quickly. I actually had some pretty decent runs on smoke and hope also. I think I had three runs under the par time. The other two were right at or just over the par time. Outer Limits was exceptionally smooth tonight. I was exploding out of the first box and entering the second box quickly. The gun was on target immediately and not bouncing. All of the runs were under the par time. Roundabout is always smooth and fast. Enough said. Pendulum, five to go and accelerator were decent. I think I’m going to keep the current training plan in place for the next month or two. The 8 stages a day allow me to practice all of the stages daily. If needed, I can tailor my plan to suit my training needs.
  4. @ZackJones Is their talk of having a dedicated and separate RO certification for SCSA?
  5. once you start using it, you will figure out what you need. Roller handle, strong mount and case feeder are necessities...everything else you can get over time.
  6. 5/10/18 Dry fire Drills to complete this week: Each Stage will consist of five repetitions (1 sets of 5) 1. Accelerator a. 2.61 Par Time 2. Five to Go a. 2.75 Par Time 3. The Pendulum a. 2.89 Par Time 4. Roundabout a. 2.13 Par Time 5. Outer Limits a. 4.40 par time 6. Smoke & Hope a. 2.06 Par Time 7. Showdown a. 2.23 Par Time 8. Speed Option a. 2.89 Par Time Since I didn’t feel the excitement about practicing yesterday, I have decided to change my routine up slightly. I have decided to do all eight stages in one practice session. Sticking with my original plan of 15-20 minute practice sessions, I have decided to do all eight stages with five repetitions each (Just like a real Steel Challenge match). This was the first time that I had dry fired with all eight stages. Five repetitions went very quickly. I was pleasantly pleased with my training today. I still struggle with the 2.06 par time on Smoke & Hope, but overall, I really like my session today. Outer limits and Speed Option were exceptional today. I was transitioning extremely well in speed option and my movement in outer limits was explosive. I really see the plates fast in training. After my live fire session Tuesday, I need to work on seeing the actual plates as fast as I do in training. Pendulum was another stage I excelled in today. It looked easy for me today. I think I’m going to stick with the eight stages for a while to see how my training progresses.
  7. I do the same thing when dry firing. I have two minor complaints about the timer. 1) You can't adjust sensitivity 2) Unless you keep a fresh battery in it, It will stop at .21 seconds thinking its the first shot.
  8. I have purchased the Rotocam Actuator, Roller Cam Follower, The top Bearing and The Primer Stop Switch from Snowshooze. Great products. I have never had a issue with any of his stuff. Even his shipping is fast from Alaska. My favorite is the Primer stop Switch!
  9. You can recycle them? I knew I was keeping them for something.
  10. 5/8/18 I went out to Ok Corral Gun Club to practice the steel challenge stages they still had up from Sunday's Match. I was a little disappointed to find out that Outer Limits and Speed Option were torn down. Anyway, I still had six stages to practice with live fire. I focused on Accelerator, Smoke & Hope and The Pendulum. I have a short video of some of the runs. My times were decent but slower than my actual dry fire times. For example, I was averaging 2.12 on Smoke & Hope (Par time is 2.06), Accelerator was 2.74 par time is 2.63 and pendulum 2.91 par time is 2.89. I did have some runs below the par time, but for most, I was slightly above the desired par time. Since I live fired today, I won't dry fire practice. I have a short video of a couple of runs. (I didn't video too much today)
  11. 5/7/18 I adjusted the par times based on my SCSA percentages. I rounded to the next whole percentage and I’m using those times until I reach the percentage. Five to Go and Roundabout I used the 100% times since I’m currently over 100% on those stages. Dry fire Drills to complete this week: Each Stage will consist of ten repetitions (2 sets of 5) 1. Outer Limits a. 4.40 par time 2. Smoke & Hope a. 2.06 Par Time 3. Showdown a. 2.23 Par Time 4. Speed Option a. 2.89 Par Time I started with Showdown since I wanted a relatively easy and fast stage to start on. I had no issues making the par time and it was a good warm-up stage. I switched to outer limits and had multiple good runs. I did notice that I had a couple right at the par time. I also noticed that when I was right at par time, I was transitioning slowly from box to box. I need to explode out of the first box and settle into the second. Speed option was third tonight and it felt very smooth. I felt comfortable with the par time. When I was at par time, I noticed that I was transitioning from plate to plate slower than I should have. I saved Smoke & Hope for last tonight and I wasn’t disappointed. I made most of the par times. I can definitely tell that I was seeing the plates better tonight than I have in a while. Tomorrow, I plan on going to the range to practice the stages that were setup for yesterday’s match. I couldn’t shoot the match since I work alternating weekends and I had to work.
  12. PCC Dry fire Schedule for the week of 5/7/18 -5/12/18 Weekly area of focus: Steel Challenge Focus will be dry firing all eight stages alternating four stages each day. Accelerator, 5 to go, The Pendulum, & Roundabout (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) Outer Limits, Smoke & Hope, Showdown & Speed Option (Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday) Dry fire Drills to complete this week: Each Stage will consist of ten repetitions (2 sets of 5) 1. Accelerator a. 2.61 Par Time 2. Five to Go a. 2.75 Par Time 3. The Pendulum a. 2.89 Par Time 4. Roundabout a. 2.13 Par Time 1. Outer Limits a. 4.40 par time 2. Smoke & Hope a. 2.06 Par Time 3. Showdown a. 2.23 Par Time 4. Speed Option a. 2.89 Par Time
  13. 5/5/18 Weekly area of focus: Steel Challenge Focus will be dry firing all eight stages alternating four stages each day. Accelerator, 5 to go, The Pendulum, & Roundabout (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) Outer Limits, Smoke & Hope, Showdown & Speed Option (Monday, Wednesday & Friday) Dry fire Drills to complete this week: Each Stage will consist of ten repetitions (2 sets of 5) 1. Accelerator a. 2.61 Par time 2. Five to Go a. 3.03 par Time 3. The Pendulum a. 2.89 Par Time 4. Roundabout a. 2.34 Par Time I started out with Roundabout and worked backwards. Roundabout was sloppy and slow. I kept breaking the shot early and missing plate #4. That would be the theme for todays practice session. Missing or breaking the shot early on plate #4. Pendulum was relatively smooth. I was a little slow on my reverse transitions from plate 5 to plate 4. Five to go was ok for most parts. I was deliberate with my movement and transitions. Accelerator follow suit with a couple of slow reverse transitions. This was my last dry fire session this week. Next week, I’ll tweak the par times to offer more of a challenge.
  14. 5/4/18 Weekly area of focus: Steel Challenge Focus will be dry firing all eight stages alternating four stages each day. Outer Limits a. 4.40 par time 2. Smoke & Hope a. 2.06 Par Time 3. Showdown a. 2.34 Par Time 4. Speed Option a. 2.89 Par Time I practiced the stages in reverse today. I started with Speed option and it felt really slow. I struggled to beat the par time on most of the runs. Showdown was a breeze. I really need to drop the par time on that stage. Smoke & Hope is still somewhat slow at times. I’m either right at the par time or just over. I’m guessing in time, I’ll get a little faster and hopefully break the 2 second mark. Outer limits felt really good tonight. I could have transitioned faster from box to box, but I was seeing the targets really clear and I felt as though I was calling my shot very well. I’m getting back into the swing of training. This week has felt really good and I’m starting to transition smoother than I did earlier in the week. I can’t wait to see what Tomorrow brings.
  15. 5/3/18 Weekly area of focus: Steel Challenge Focus will be dry firing all eight stages alternating four stages each day. 2.34 Par Time Dry fire session was smooth. I worked on calling my shots on 5 to go. All of the par times were made easily. Next week, I’ll drop the par times on some stages to better suit my training needs. I tend to get a little lazy on some of the repetitions. I need to be ready quicker between repetitions. The timer was going off and I was still trying to get ready. Accelerator and pendulum need the most work percentage wise. I’ll keep my current times until I hit the 90% mark in a match. I think I like the alternating days on stages, it breaks up the days and gives me the opportunity to train with all eight stages every two days.
  16. 5/2/18 Weekly area of focus: Steel Challenge Focus will be dry firing all eight stages alternating four stages each day. Outer Limits a. 4.40 par time. This was a challenging stage dry firing cold. It was my first stage to practice. I was slow moving from box to box. I think that I need to warm up first before just running this stage cold. I did make most of the par times even though it was the first stage. 2. Smoke & Hope a. 2.06 Par Time. This stage is going to be my nemesis! I was either just making the par time, or just missing it. I do like that I’m waiting until the dot is over the first part of the plate before I break the shot. I actually ran 15 repetitions on this stage. I need to get faster on this stage!!! 3. Showdown a. 2.34 Par Time. This par time felt like an eternity. I’m currently at 92.59%. I can see me changing this par time to the 95% of par time in the very near future. 4. Speed Option a. 2.89 Par Time. I was relatively slow on this stage today too. I wasn’t calling good hits on the plates. My dot being an 8moa dot, It looks bigger than the plates. I need to determine how much of the dot needs to cover the plate in order to call a good hit. Waiting for the ding is just too slow during matches. You need to call your shots in order to be fast.
  17. My 124gr PCC load is: 124gr Everglades RN Recess base 3.2gr Titegroup CCI SPP Mixed cases 1.130 OAL
  18. I use a 8moa dot for Steel Challenge and a 6moa dot for USPSA
  19. 5/1/18 Weekly area of focus: Steel Challenge Focus will be dry firing all eight stages alternating four stages each day. 2.34 Par Time Dry fire training felt pretty smooth today. I had a couple of hiccups with Accelerator swinging by #2 too fast. I was breaking the shot before my dot was on the plate. I corrected it by waiting until I got onto the first part of the plate. My reverse transitions were pretty smooth. Five to go is still a great stage. I’m always wondering with the 8moa dot if I hit the plate or not. I need to do some live fire and see how much of the dot needs to be on the plate to call a good shot. Pendulum was also pretty smooth except for the one run when I shot the stop plate before shooting plates 4&5. Other than that, the repetitions were really smooth. Roundabout at 2.34 is a total joke. Next week I need to adjust the par time slightly to compensate for the stages I shoot really well.
  20. My 24C and 24E feel the same except for the curved trigger and the flat trigger with the trigger shoe. I like both, but I prefer the 24C because of the aforementioned trigger shoe.
  21. 4/30/18 Dry fire Drills to complete this week: Each Stage will consist of ten repetitions (2 sets of 5) 1. Outer Limits a. 4.40 par time. Par time was easily made with some small exceptions. I felt my movement was very slow and deliberate. I didn’t feel explosive moving from box to box. I need to work on it in the next dry fire session. When I was focused on moving fast and keeping the gun steady, I made the par time easily. When I was deliberate and the gun bounced, I was right at the par time. 2. Smoke & Hope a. 2.06 Par Time. This stage is definitely my worst stage. This stage seems so easy. It’s deceiving! When I snapped my head to the next target, I made the par time. I really need to focus on this stage in the coming weeks. This is my 3rd worst stage at 84.46%. 3. Showdown a. 2.34 Par Time. This stage was entirely too easy at 2.34 seconds. I felt as though I could have shot it twice in the time allotted. This is my 3rd best stage at 92.59%. I need to drop the par time to 95% instead of 90% 4. Speed Option a. 2.89 Par Time. This stage has me mixed. I can do some really good runs, followed by some really crappy runs. I need to tighten up on this stage. It felt good getting back out today and dry firing with the banners. I don’t feel as though I lost too much in speed and precision. My timing is still relatively good. No doubt I’ll be rusty for a while. Tomorrow is another day and I can’t wait to see what training challenges Ill encounter tomorrow.
  22. 4/29/18 Dry fire Drills to complete this week: Each Stage will consist of ten repetitions (2 sets of 5) 1. Accelerator a. 2.61 Par time 2. Five to Go a. 3.03 par Time 3. The Pendulum a. 2.89 Par Time 4. Roundabout a. 2.34 Par Time All the stages were easily completed in the allotted par time. Since I’m only running 90% of peak time, the stages seemed really easy. Accelerator and Pendulum are my slow stages in this group. I’m currently running 81.41% on Accelerator and 80.71% on Pendulum. With this speed and time, I should have no problem making the par time and bringing up my percentages to 90%. Roundabout and 5 to go are both currently over 100% for me. The par times were a joke. My focus right now is getting back into the groove of practicing 6-7 days a week. Tomorrow I will practice the other 4 stages.
  23. PCC Dry fire Schedule for the week of 4/29/18 -5/5/18 Weekly area of focus: Steel Challenge Focus will be dry firing all eight stages alternating four stages each day. 2.34 Par Time 1. Outer Limits a. 4.40 par time 2. Smoke & Hope a. 2.06 Par Time 3. Showdown a. 2.34 Par Time 4. Speed Option a. 2.89 Par Time
