Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I use a Comp-Tac locking paddle holster for my Wilson Combat 1911. Also use their double mag carrier. Both holster and mag carrier are adjustable so you can put just the right amount of tension on your gun and magazines. Plus the holster and mag carriers go on and off your belt very easily since they don't have the belt threaded thru them. George
  2. About 6 weeks ago I needed a part for my 1050 (which is also the older model - not the super 1050). I was told that the 1050's are only warranted for a year, not a lifetime like their smaller machines. It was explained that the 1050's are more often used for commercial reloaders and therefore get much more use than the smaller 650's, 550's etc. Dillon did however send me the part I needed for free since it was an inexpensive part (under $6) so I guess I can't complain. My RL1050 was purchased about 4 years ago at an estate sale and is probably 8 years old or older and has never needed anything more than a few replacement parts. Overall I own both the RL1050 and a 550B and have absolutely no complaints. I can't honestly expect a company to warranty anything forever but Dillon sure comes close!
  3. The ghost holster is very difficult to get right now. I have had one on backorder for about a month. Originally ordered through Matt Burkett, but they called me and said they weren't sure when they would be getting anymore in because of the dollar being weaker than the Euro (these holsters are made overseas). Currently have one on backorder with Competitive Edge Dynamics. Until the ghost comes in I will use my Safariland 012 with my STI GrandMaster. - George
  4. I am partial to the 200g LSWC Lasercast bullets over 5.0g of VV-N320. Leaves the barrel fairly clean and shoots nice groups with my Wilson Combat CQB with 5" barrel. - George
  5. Thanks for the info guys. I have been shooting lasercast bullets for a couple of years now, using both their .45 and .38super bullets. They shoot great and leave the barrel easy to clean (no lead build up whatsoever). So then I will stick to what I am currently using! Thanks again - George
  6. Can anyone direct me to a good source for obtaining the .45 H&G #68 swc bullet? I understand that this is supposed to be a very accurate and popular bullet style for target or competition shooting. I will be shooting IDPA using a Wilson Combat CQB pistol and I would like to try the H&G's. I am currently using 200g Laser Cast SWC which I like because they don't lead up the barrel. Is there that much difference in the bullet styles between an H&G swc and the Laser Cast? Thanks, George
  7. I just got off the phone with CED and they asked me to send the unit back to them so they can check it out and either repair mine or send me a new one. In talking with them it sounded like I may have a defective unit. So I will go that route first since I really like the features of the CED8000. I will let you guys know what happens. Supposedly they have a 24 hour turnaround once they receive the defective timer.
  8. I just received a new CED8000 shot timer in the mail today and I am sending it back. The display was very difficult to read (even in the house without the bright light of the sun shining on it). There was very little contrast between the displayed characters and the background of the LCD. Don't know if I just received a bad unit or if that is the way they are. I have a CED chronograph which has a very easy to read display on it so I figured their shot timer would be the same. Anyway, I am looking for suggestions on a shot timer that has an easy to read display with enough contrast that it will not wash out in the daylight.
