Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Just to add some spin to the thread. I recently purchased a 6 inch STI Targetmaster which is manufactured standard as 9mm. I love "soft" so I had it rebarreled to .38 Super. Same projectile, same powder weight, longer case but much nicer feel. If you are building a new gun why not .38 Super? Cheers.
  2. I am sure it will be hot by then. Cheers.
  3. Has the ice melted over there yet? I don't want to come over and lose my tan.
  4. Hi, I just found this thread, very interesting. Can someone please advise what happens if the chamber is cut too deep? Also what is the correct depth for .38 Super? I have quite a variation in case lengths. Cheers.
  5. I bought a pair of Hy-wyd with the Hy-Lo adjustable bridge nose height. The lenses are prescription v-lite rose. I am really pleased with them. I shoot Action Pistol (Bianchi Cup) which involves going prone at times. The lenses sit slightly up and away from your eyebrows which means a clear sight when prone and no sweat smudges. I highly recommend these glasses. Cheers.
  6. Thanks for that Griz, I hadn't thought of that. I could have ended up being someones plaything in the pen.
  7. Thanks Warren. Maybe you could build one as part of one of your new shrouds for me? Hope someone has a picture? Cheers, Chris.
  8. I built the side walls up with that putty stuff that sets when you squeeze it together lots. I don't fly Quantas and was too stupid to think of a 45 case. Cheers.
  9. Has anyone tried a post on the bottom of the shroud to assist gripping the gun to the barricade? The standard grip with an extremely bent wrist does not feel to flash to me. I guess there would be an issue with the holster? Any thoughts? Cheers.
  10. To add another variable you can also try a ramped mainspring housing. I bought one to lift the angle on my 2011 Edge however my hands are not very big so I had to change back to a flat mainspring housing so I could get enough finger on the trigger. I have a 1911 STI Target Master on its way to me, I will try the ramped mainspring housing in that. All good fun. Cheers.
  11. Mate you might have to play around with that yourself. My understanding is that pistol shooters all either set the sights for point of aim or a 6 O'clock hold. I personally have my sights set for point of aim which means half the target is covered. If you dumped the fiber optic it might be easier to get your head around the concept. No dot, just line the tops of the sights. Totally covering the target sucks especially if the target is moving. A 6 O'clock hold gives issues if the target is an 8 inch diameter plate or the elongated alpha zone for IPSC. If you persist with a fiber optic you are likely to shoot high when under pressure. That's my tuppence worth. Cheers.
  12. I use Rudy Hy wides with light rose prescription lenses. I am very happy with them but I am curious about transitions which darken with intense light. Anyone tried them?
  13. Hi, Does anyone know a good export agent to assist export a pair of handguns to new Zealand? Cheers.
