Light for Powder Check Die
1in9twist replied to UncleTK's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
I did this mod a while back for a customer that couldn't hear his monitor. I also removed the batteries and tied it into his Skylight shellplate lighting system 110 power supply. (It also still has audible warning.) -

Reviews of Ceiling Light for 550/650

I surely don't have a problem with someone posting a review or documenting their experience with a product. I always take them with a grain of salt because everyone is different and expresses themselves in different ways. But I also listen close and try to learn from them and in turn do my best to improve the design if it can be done. Honestly, the above review/statements leaves me feeling a bit trashed on, because anyone that knows me or my products knows better. This is a brand new gen #1 item and there are always little changes to be made after some real world use by people other than the beta testers. In the design of any item, I think down the road and make serviceability an important consideration, potting the LED to the bushing does not lend itself to serviceability of the LED pod. I am pleased to say that we have had zero failures in regards to soldering across the Dillon 550, 650 and Hornady LNL AP Skylight product lines. They have been well received and are performing well. As usual we aggressively continue to look for ways to improve. A secondary strain relief has been incorporated to help combat against accidental damage/occurrence as Michael experienced. Again, I am not above taking a chewing on something that I should have done a better job on, but I don't think we earned this one. -

Hornady Lock NB Load Light Strip

It is a patent pending design by myself. Have you contacted Hornady about it? Not yet. As I am sure they are quite aware. It is a disappointing situation. -

Hmm......I think you are right. I have seen those somewhere before as well..... "They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" -
That's a fine story. Good stuff.

There's an alarm for that......

I have both the 650 and LNL. They both require tinkering. It's just the way it is. They ALL need a little adjustment here n there to keep em runnin %100. It's a complex lil machine sometimes issues are compounded by people new to reloading. Hit the brakes, slow down, learn and understand what all's going on before trying to time yourself on how many rounds you can crank out.

Sounds like fun. Where can I find more info on this lil gadget? -
You bet! Thank you for the compliment. I appreciate it!

Simple works. Ram all the way up Parts Aluminum shaft collar, set 6 1\4 below the primer alarm, coupled together by a spring with special longer hooks. The alarm still can rub the powder drop but can't get knocked off the primer tube. I will get a kit set up on the site tonight.(For my cost + priority shipping to you) If you would like to do it yourself, you can order the parts thru McMasterCarr. Only problem is, they are sold in packs of 6. Part numbers are 6157K15 and 96605K44.

As for the PTX issue, I received the parts and will see if it works this weekend. If it does, I will put a little kit together, but can also tell you where to get the parts if you wanna do it yourself.

Ohh...nice!

That's a fine lil reloading station. Looks great!
-
I think I have a solution for the guys running the PTX. Stay tuned.
-
Hi Kevin. Yes, with the PTX, it gets a little cozy against the powder measure. Buuut.....you can sand off that "hump" that contacts the measure to help free up some room. I sand em all before they are painted now.

It moves the press 3 1\2" to the rear. Red.....Hmm.....I haven't perfected the Hornady red yet. I have got quite close, but it is quite time consuming as it is a 4 stage process.

I need to use the bulge buster system on "Glocked" brass if I intend to shoot it out of my lone wolf barrel. Works great.
