Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I have had my 650 for about 3 months. No problems until today...the primers stopped dropping. The tube is full but nothing is dropping into the wheel below it. I have searched Youtube for a video on how to disassemble it and remove the problem primer but I have not had any luck finding one. I have no idea how to remove this tube and dump out all the primers then reassemble. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. I have had two squibs in the last two weeks. Neither one traveled past the center of the barrel. Is it better to back it out 2 inches or push it forward 3 inches?
  3. Consider yourself Blessed. I pick up 100's of rounds of spent 9mm brass at the range and have learned to check the shape before loading it. Many cases have a bulge at the bottom which requires resizing before I can use them. Count your blessings.
  4. Does Dillon or anyone make a good resizing die that will resize a 9mm case all the way to the bottom. I pick up brass at the range and some of it which come from Glocks have a bulge at the bottom and are not usable in my Smith and Wesson. I need a die for my 550b that will resize that brass all the way to the bottom. Any suggestions?
  5. CORRECT. Also make sure that the tube goes in correctly and fits in place. There is a right way and a wrong way the tube goes in. Also...when I ordered my 550b, I ordered the dies for a 9mm only. Why they sent me one small pickup primer tube and 4 LARGE pickup primer tubes I do not know. I was using one of the large ones and the primers kept flipping around in side it. Took me 3 days to figure it out.
  6. Thanks for the tip. I will look into the Lee FC die.
  7. THAT... seems to be the problem. I started insering the empty brass into CASE GAGE and some of it is swollen befoe I even start to use it. No one brand either. It's all across the board. Nothing to do other than throw it to the side. Since I picked it up for free and it doesn't fit, I certainly don't want to load it, use it in competition and have it jam in my barrel.
  8. I recently purchased a Dillon 550b and have reloaded about 500 rounds. I also purchased the 9mm bullet case gage and measure every bullet I have reloaded. So far about 1 out of 5 do not fit correctly. WHY IS THIS???
  9. YOUNGEYES NAILED IT. The primer housing tube has aslot that the primer tube has to fit in and it was not in there. Live and learn. Just today after loading 300 rounds I was getting primers thrown everywhere except in the little cup that is supposed to catch them. Come to find out there is a little door that opens and shuts each time a spent primer is dropped into it. It was not opening and closing so i put a little WD40 on it and it works fine now.
  10. What do you guys do to set the primer feed system correctly. My new 550b (got last week) is dropping 3 or 4 at a time. I understand the set screw on the back (#13961) has something to do with it but I don't know which way to turn it to get it to feed correctly. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
