  1. When I had Gans built my limited gun, I got 95% of my parts from them. Great place to deal with.
  2. I had him build my limited gun. Turnaround time was 6 days from when he received the parts to when it was on its way back to me. I've put 8k or so rounds through and haven't had a problem. Finish and fit are top notch.
  3. I had to do a little cleanup around the thumb safety and then I blended to the magweel. No big deal on either, maybe had 30 minutes into it.
  4. You will get some chalk on the gun. I figure I have my guns to shoot them, not have them look pretty. When I'm done shooting the gun it gets an oil wipe down anyway. Here is a link to what I use and have great results with it. http://www.missionathletecare.com/products/power-grip-all-sport?utm_source=google_shopping&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google_pla&gdftrk=gdfV213093_a_7c3841_a_7c14662_a_7c126423302&gclid=Cj0KEQjwmNuuBRDTu5rDjr2kxJsBEiQAWlm6UmNwxUhkWEAFMVcLzgSwtgguaZd9Qu8h4JiulBSPnz0aAmXZ8P8HAQ#EqFDb9urcOBgI2rA.97
  5. Kind of looks like a Brazo Lightning Rod Carry. http://www.1911store.com/lightning-rod-standardsti-sv-1.aspx
  6. I shoot BBI 180's but I would be curious to see your data so I could compare it to mine on how much temperature does effect it.
  7. Chances are it is happening to the second round down, not the top round.
  8. Well, I got it out to test fire today and I'm disappointed in the result. I'm stilling getting an indent in the rounds. It's not quite as deep and a bit wider. I don't think I'll take any more off the bottom of the ramp for fear of impacting feed reliability. Looks to me like you are almost there, just a little more off the feed ramp and you'll be golden. Have you done the sharpie trick with different lengths of ammo to find out where the round is contacting the feed ramp? Mine are right at the top so I had no fear taking a bunch of material off the bottom of the feed ramp.
  9. You need to see what your barrel likes. When I was having problems with my gun here is what was suggested to me and it worked great. Load multiple batches of rounds, to an OAL of 1.175, 1.180, 1.185, 1.190, 1.195, and 1.200. Load only 10 rounds of batch #1 in a mag... Lock the slide back and with a black Sharpie marker, color the feed ramp black. Then load the mag and shoot all 10 rounds. Then examine the feed ramp - the goal being to have the bullets contact the feed ramp as high as possible. Then repeat for each batch of the different OALs.
  10. I don't have any pix from before and I don't know how much we took off but it wasn't much. The machine shop my buddy can use the machines is about 3 blocks from an indoor range. We did the, take a little off go to the range and test, back to the shop and so on. Sorry I can't be more help. ETA: we just removed material from the bottom of the ramp. The barrel was horizontal in the mill and we came in with the bit horizontally as well.
  11. I've heard of this problem before. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=175497
  12. I know you have it figured out but figured I would throw it out there anyway. http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Super-Ghost-Holster-Small-Replacement-Parts-C847.aspx?s=IsFeatured%20DESC,%20OrderBy%20ASC,%20Name%20ASC&c=847&ps=12&p=0 http://www.shootersconnectionstore.com/Super-Ghost-Holster-Belt-Attachment-Screw--P2625.aspx
  13. I watched a guy shoot a Coonon at a "like USPSA" match, oh and it was indoors.
  14. You can put a svi shoe on a sti bow but it's a project to do it. I have got to the point of fitting the svi shoe to the sti bow. Life has gotten in the way of finishing it. I plan to have it complete and tested by spring.
  15. Low of 3, heck we will be lucky to see a high of 3.
  16. A high above 10°F would be nice right about now.
  17. Set everything up like you are going to load ammo and move things around to your liking. That will tell you where to mount the press. Press location is a result of, where all the other crap needs to be.
  18. The reason I was worried, is because I was getting bullet setback from the feed ramp slamming into the top round in the mag.
  19. I have found placing the bullet in the case at station 2 before advancing has helped with powder lost. That is also where I make sure the case has powder in it and the flare is correct.
  20. Field strip Get the majority of the gunk with a dry rag Dry Bore Snake through the barrel 5 or 6 times. A drop of oil here and there. Put it back together Wipe down with a dry rag. Safety check Back in the safe it goes. It's a GLOCK not a metal gun. GLOCK's don't like to much oil and they run just fine a little dirty.
