  1. Thanks guys. This gives me something to work with.
  2. Thank you. I did see the clubs listed with USPSA.org. I thought there might be others.
  3. Any clubs running matches near Madison WI? Looking for Steel Challenge or USPSA, or similar outlaw matches.
  4. Interesting trigger. Hadn’t seen that one before. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. These have a one piece aluminum frame, if I’m not mistaken. I wonder how well those rails will hold up to high round count. My sole aluminum 1911 got pretty loose pretty fast.
  6. I think it’s a great idea, exactly as it’s proposed. Don’t mess with it further than that with major/minor capacity differences, etc.
  7. I’ll add this: I like allowing an optic in L10 more…
  8. I like major scoring. “Power” is one of the three tenets the sport was founded with. I told them I’m in favor IF it’s scored major. If not, then just expand Carry Optics to include single actions. And don’t tell me I can’t do something that makes me slower and less accurate! Don’t mandate the optic. Name the division something without “optic” in the name.
  9. Mine is a Macon Armory gas upper. It’s awesome, very soft for a .45. Runs a standard carbine spring and buffer so far. Looks like a .450 Bushmaster bolt. I started with a standard lower with Macon’s block and magazines. Flawless function with all bullet types I’ve tried. then I decided I wanted more capacity and got a lower that takes M3 grease gun mags. It’s not feeding very well. I think it will get there with some tinkering but I just haven’t yet. It’s cold outside.
  10. Do it. It’s fun. You’re limited to 30 rounds in a magazine that doesn’t seat real easily when it’s full but…I like it anyway. Simpler than Form 1’ing another lower to take Glock mags. If you’re a serious competitor who wants to wring every bit out of his gear, maybe go another route though.
  11. That little thing weighs 13.1 ounces?!
  12. They’re expensive but MBX seems to have them in stock. I bought a couple a while back but haven’t tried them yet. Looks like the price has gone up, like everything else. At least they’re available. They don’t have side ribs like the older STI. Perhaps they have greater capacity.
  13. I think I’ll just order a Cross to get one. Looks good for hunting.
  14. AICS Pmag? If so the Sig version made for the Cross comes with such a follower. Here I found a reference to someone copying the follower and 3d printing it but he wouldn’t share the file.
  15. I’ve tried a Kimber conversion on a dedicated frame, a Sig 1911-22, and a couple of Rugers. Of these, the Rugers were the least trouble.
  16. These are pretty sweet. I got to handle one at my LGS. A transfer, not for sale. I admit Ranger’s first thread didn’t make it sound like it was worth the $$. Now I ordered a Macon Armory gas upper.
  17. I scored 2k Federal SP magnum match today at the local Sportsman’s Warehouse! $49/1000. I couldn’t believe they had any.
  18. Thanks, that’s what I’m thinking. Now I need to find a good Fathers Day sale.
  19. I noticed that the temp range is 20-100 deg. Would this be a problem for you? It might. I sometimes want it to work much colder than that. But I chrono most of the time right outside my garage and bring the chrono back inside between strings.
  20. I’m leaning pretty hard towards the ProChrono because of price. The LabRadar tops $600 when you add in the extra trigger I’d need. Some of the things I shoot are pretty quiet. Does anyone have any experience with the LabRadar shooting quiet things? Or with their airgun/archery trigger?
  21. Thanks for all the replies! I didn’t expect such a consensus. Really only two good options. Please keep talking.
  22. My 12 year old Shooting Chrony isn’t working very well lately, and I’m thinking of replacing it. What are people getting these days? The Labradar looks good, but expensive. I like that it doesn’t rely on lighting, as lighting is often poor here in interior Alaska. Especially as I seem to do a fair amount of load development in the dark of winter. The Magnetospeed attaches to the barrel, so I think that’s out. I need it for pistols too. What else?
