Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Oops, my bad. I saw the file name and tried to open it. Didn't realize I hadn't unzipped it. Thanks for your kindness and patience.
  2. Hey ChuckS, what trick did you use to rename that file? I'm trying to look at the other files but cannot rename them.
  3. Hey guys, my computer won't let me rename the file Odd Dillon_motherload to anything. Also, I cannot get it to open by dropping it on Xcel. When I tried opening it with Word Pad, I could read some of the information but the formatting was no correct. So, for someone like me, please tell me how to open these files. Thanks!
  4. I am having a similar problem and also suspect the shell plate itself. Did you replace your shell plate? And did it make a difference? Thanks
  5. OK, thanks! My wire looks pretty close to the plate now and the rounds are dumping. Maybe I don't need to change it.
  6. Boxerglocker, I am interested in the shape of the eject wire. Mine came straight where yours has a dogleg. You say that it is important to get the eject wire bent right. So, what are you looking for? Sarge, you say using only one washer makes it easier to tune the ejector wire. Again, what are you looking for and how do you tune the ejector wire?
  7. Another source for Dillon trimmer dies is http://www.ch4d.com/catalog/dies/trimming/dt They had a die for the Dillon trimmer in 257 Roberts You might try them. Dick
  8. Thanks Jaxshooter. The Redding competition bullet seater die for .257 Roberts is $142. Do you think that the Forster seater die is good enough or should I get standard Redding dies and a Redding competition seater die? Dick
  9. I'm new to rifle reloading and want to load for a Remington 722 that has been in the family a long time. I want to shoot varmits, targets and metal silhouettes. I know that this rifle isn't benchrest quality but I want to make ammo that will shoot as good as it (and I) can. The bullet will be the Sierra Blitzking 90 gr BT, powder will be H380 and the cases will be new Remington (that I just found online). The dies I am considering are the Redding standard die ($42 for FL sizer and a bullet seater) and the Forster Benchrest FL and Seater ($70). Redding makes a competition die set but it is very expensive ($220). I'll be using a 550 for brass prep and a 650 for loading. I like the way the Forster seater die appears to line up the bullet with the case and its adjustability. Other than that, I really don't have a good basis for choosing between the two. Thanks for your help Dick
  10. I set the Dillon FL carbide sizer/decapper/expander ball die to the shellplate, and tighten it there. then I set the trim die to the case guage. I bell the case mouth with the die that goes on the swager position of a 1050, it just doesn't swage the primer pocket because that comes up from the bottom. jj Thanks jj. Do you think that a neck expanding die like the Lyman (M) die will do the same job as the 1050 swage backup die with the backup expander? Dick
  11. I'm trying to setup to load 308 on my 650. This is my first rifle cartridge but I think your procedure and others similar make a lot of sense. How do you adjust the Dillon FL die and the trim die? Are they both set using the case gage? What die do you use to bell the case mouth? Something like the Lyman M die? Dick
  12. Thanks for the comment about what you are actually watching just before raising the platform. That helps me a lot as does the video.
  13. Hey Sarge You really rock on that machine. One question. In previous posts when you had a 550, you made a point seeing powder in the case. Can you still do a visual powder check with the bullet feeder setup?
