Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. how about the nikon monarch 4-16x42? just as a starter scope? not to highjack the topic at all
  2. Thanks for all the advice. Ill definitely look more into this if (when) it happens again.
  3. I was thinking it could be a magazine issue too. Next time it happens (if it does), I make sure to make note of the magazine that it happened with. Ill try a different mag and if it still happens with my new upper, it would have to be the lower.
  4. Ok.. well thats a place to start. Either gas rings, carrier key or extractor spring. How would the gas rings or carrier key do something like that though? These are semi-isolated incidences too. Once in every 500 rounds or so. It happened once last summer and once this spring and I shoot a decent amount. I decided to not use that upper/carrier combo any more for 3 gun. I bought a DPMS 3G1 upper so hopefully that issue goes away!
  5. Hello all, Ive had a couple issues with my AR during a couple 3 gun competitions. Ive had a failure to eject/extract along with a double feed happen to me twice on two different occasions. My lower receiver is not milled out for the M4 feed ramps my barrel has so I was wondering if that was the issue. Take a look at my picture. These are the rounds that came out of my rifle, one from each occasion. Any thoughts?
  6. So I have this idea for a semi auto shotgun that has the same controls to an AR. I know that Akdal has made an AR style shotgun but I was thinking about how I could custom make, say a right hand Mossberg 930 SPX (thats what I currently own), with a right side charging handle and a right side bolt release button. This would make it so you have all the controls of the shotgun on the right side but the ejection port on the left. Im not sure there would be any benefit to it other than it would be a lot easier to manipulate if you're used to the AR platform. Any thoughts?
  7. Oh okay. Yeah, I may be interested in getting a Noveske barrel down the road. I wouldn't mind getting on a waiting list. Thanks a lot!
  8. I wish Noveske made barrels for rifle length gas systems. I would love to have a Noveske barrel. Does anyone have any comparisons of the BattleComp vs FSC556 vs standard A2 vs anything else? I realize a compromise on flash hiding and compensators is tough and a muzzle device that does both will at lest do a good job at both... but not great at either.
  9. Yeah I have but my buddy is planning on getting that one... and I cant get the same thing as him!
  10. Hey all, So Im getting more and more into 3 gun and I want to upgrade my gun. I know Im not good enough to outshoot my current setup but I also want an accurate coyote upper. I'm looking for an 18'' barrel with a rifle length gas system. I figured I could merge the two ideas for an accurate 3 gun upper and a coyote upper. For a 3 gun, I was considering (and still am considering) the DPMS 3G1. But I did a little more surfing the web and stumbled on the BCM Mk12 Mod0 which is a sweet upper but not very practical for 3 gun but is more suited for coyotes (and yes, it does cost a far chunk of change.. but besides that) With a little more looking around, I found the BCM SS410 18'' upper. Its about the same price as the DPMS upper. Im also looking at compensator/flash hider compromises. Since I want to use this upper for both coyotes and 3 gun, I'd like to have the compensating feature for competitions and the flash hiding ability for night coyote hunting. Im looking at either the BattleComp or the FSC556. I've read reviews on these uppers and muzzle devices but I'd like to hear what this forum has to say for my specific situation. Also, does anyone have a solid comparison (of accuracy, not price; I understand that part) of the BCM SS410 18'' barrels and the Noveske 18'' barrels? Thanks
  11. Hey all, My buddies and I weight lift pretty much everyday. We also compete in local 3 gun matches and occational USPSA matches. We were wondering what weight training/workouts we should do to improve our performance. I'm not looking for answers like reloading practice or weapon manipulation practice, those are obvious. Thanks in advance
  12. Thanks for the replies and the explainations. Looks like I'm going to go with the Vortex.
  13. I was wondering if anyone had any comparison pictures of 1.25x and true 1x scopes. I am currently looking for a 3 gun scope and I'm stuck between the Vortex Viper HS 1-4x, Nikon M223 1-4x and Leupold VXR 1.25-4. However, I really like the idea of illumination since my eye picks up the reticle a lot faster plus I'd like to do some coyote hunting with it. I like the Nikon a lot but I dont like how the turrets are so easy to turn if they get bumped (and its not illuminated). I like the Leupold's reticle and Ive heard the glass in it is compariable to AccuPoints but its 1.25-4, not 1x. Thanks
  14. How about any used DPMS 3G1 uppers for sale here??
