That's exactly what we do.

I shoot at one of the PCC "test clubs". We have offered PCC as a division for the last two months. I didn't get to shoot in December, but I did shoot our January match last weekend with my PCC. Two or three other guys ran their PCCs as well, including one of our club's GMs who ran his PCC and his single stack. The GM shot 77% of his PCC with his single stack. The stages were usual USPSA stages and were not favored towards the rifles in any way. There were a few stages were I had the opportunity to take 25 yd. shots instead of running to the end of the stage like I would have with my production gun. I have never really ran a rifle before and just got my PCC in a few days before the match. It was an absolute blast and one of the best times I have ever had shooting. I have A LOT to work on with my PCC, namely reloads, transitions, and finding the dot quickly. In the overall results, I actually finished a little behind where I would have expected to finish with my production gun, but I hadn't been able to shoot for the past year after having a daughter. We still have a few details to work out with shooting PCC at our club, but so far it has been successful AND it's fun. I see no problem with adding it as a division and am all for it.

Got a JP GMR-13 in this week. Got to shoot it yesterday and run a mock stage. Great gun! It's like shooting a pellet gun. Relatively quiet and the dot doesn't move much at all!

I have an extra striker and other spare parts for the M&P. I shoot a Shadow now, so I could probably part with them. Let me know if you're interested.

Actually.....if you are shooting against me in Production at Area 6 tomorrow, don't worry about putting your rear sight back on. Most of the targets are pretty easy and it will just get in the way!

Same thing happened to mine two days ago! I centered it and used lots of blue Loctite. You should be able to find my thread.

I would listen to Stuart. This is common practice and he is a (very good) gunsmith. If you deform the dovetail (of the sight, not the slide) enough you won't be able to get it in. It isn't a bandaid, it's a standard way of getting the rear to stay where it's put. I was going to suggest it too when I read the OP. Yes, he is a great gunsmith, but I am not. He worked all of his magic on this gun. I guess I should have said that it would be a bandaid since I would be doing the work. I have a month between majors, so maybe I'll see if I can do anything before I buy a new one.

Mine isnt, with the set screw out, I still have to pound it with a brass punch in a vise to get it to move. That's what I figured. Stuart told me to move some metal with a brass punch to make it "bite" in the dovetail, but that just seems like a bandaid. Guess I'll have to order a new rear sight when I get back from Atlanta. I honestly didn't expect something like this to happen to a 3 month old, 3,000 round gun, BUT I'm glad I found it before the match. Let's just hope that it holds.

While practicing last night, the competition rear sight on my Shadow came loose. I'm actually thankful it happened then since that was the last run I was going to make before packing up my gun and heading to Area 6. The sight was really loose in the dovetail, which seems unusual. I could easily move it to either side of the dovetail where it would almost fall out. We pulled the sight, cleaned the area, and put blue Loctite in the dovetail and on the set screw. I let it set up for 20 minutes or so and then ran 100 rounds to see if it would hold. Everything seems to be fine now. Should the rear sight be that loose in the dovetail? Surely they don't rely on just the set screw to hold it in. I'm a little nervous about taking the gun to Area 6 now, but hopefully it holds up.

Why don't you apply your scoring idea to some matches shot in the past, say Nats, and see what it looks like. I guess you could say that the stages would be different with your scoring, or that maybe the competitors would have shot differently, but it would still be interesting to see the results.

So, with the app, is there a way to compare the same drill over multiple sessions? It would be nice to be able to see how you are doing on that drill over time and to quickly see a personal best, etc.

I've been doing lots a dryfire and live fire to get ready for Area 6. Hit a few personal bests recently, including a 3.86 second 25 yard Bill Drill with 4 Alphas and 2 close Cs. Average time was 4.1 seconds. Looking at my training log over the last few months, I am constantly improving and inching closer to the GM goal times in Skill & Drills. After having the Shadow for three months, I am nearing 3k rounds through it and it is running like a top. Zero malfunctions so far. I ordered Ben's new dryfire book and the BOSS hanger attachment today, so hopefully they will be in before the end of the week. I am also down to my last 1k rounds of ammo, so I'll have to fire the 650 back up soon to replenish the stock. 1.5 weeks until Area 6!

Thanks, Nate. I am considering a striker-fired pistol like an MP or Glock. I don't have either at the moment. However, I also don't own a 1911 and would love to do so therefore I am wondering if a 1911 would do okay in production or would it be a poor fit from a competitive standpoint. There aren't any 1911s on the Production list. It is pretty much all striker fired or DA/SA guns. The most "trans-divisional" gun is any on the Production list. You can shoot those in Prod, Lim, Lim10, and Open. I guess if there are revolvers on the list they would take the cake as you can shoot them in Rev too.

That's interesting, I can't stand all the half broken staples left on the sticks. A couple of times per year I will pull staples for 30 minutes or so. Do the binders cover a small portion of the target, if so. I'm assuming they get shot pretty regularly, how often would you guess that happens? Sarge, from what I read here the Arrow T50 series may be a better option for me to try. I also find it humorous at how quickly some people can tear something up.. The binders cover about 2"x1" of the D. I just use them for practice, so I've only shot one of them.

I used the powershot for a couple of years. It's pretty weak. I recently started using large binder clips. They work great, are fast, and you don't have staples stuck in your sticks.

I disagree. Both are equally important. With our scoring system, you can actually "absorb" bad accuracy with enough speed and that'll be enough to win at the local level. Of course, I wouldn't tell that to a new shooter. They need to work on accuracy AT speed, that is the key to the game and how to place high at Level II and beyond matches.
