  1. I think what I just heard from Glock is important enough to start a new post. I asked in previous post if anyone had ever seen chipping on outside of glock bll,no one had. I just talked to Glock, They have never seen anything like it . They said the inside of bll was badly pitted down the bore even in the chamber. the left side of rear lug, the left rear of bll hood have chips out. The only thing they could come up with was my cleaning it with vingar and hydrogen peroxide. They didn't want to warranty the bll but when I told them I wanted it back, they said they would replace it, because they want to run test. They were pretty sure this was the cause, and I don't know of any other answer. If your using vin/peroxide you might want to stop. I sure did like cleaning with it, a 20 min soak and four swabs with a brass brush, and 4 to 700 rds of lead residue gone. Does anyone have another explanation? Weakeyes
  2. I called Glock Tec dept this morning, when I got to the chipped lug he really perked up, and wanted it sent back. I also found a chip out in the back of the bll hood( the extension that sticks back top rear bll) and I think chipping at the end of the chamber where the rifiling starts. The gun has never had any steel case ammo? I would send a picture but I already sent it back. I am not worried about using the bll. but I think you would lose some acc because of lock up. Mainly I want to know what caused it. Also I am not sure about the inside chamber chipping, It is hard to see inside. I soak bll over night in hydrogen peroxide and vinegar, Tec said this should not have any affect. Thanks Guys, I will let you know what I find out. Weakeyes P.S. This is not peening it is small chips gone, If you run your finger across the front bll ledge it feels like a hack saw blade.
  3. I posted this on glock talk and got no answers, maybe someone here has seen this. The front lip on the barrel, the part that mates with the slide on lockup. has small chips all the way across it. the slide shows no sign of chipping or scaring. also a chip in the bottom rear lug on barrel (left side). The gun has approx 10000 rds. max. It has never fired anything hotter than win white box. It has a stock Glock recoil spring. Most ammo used is just hot enough to work the slide, with lead bullets. Never had a squib or double charge. Its going to Glock in the morning. Thanks Weakeyes

  10. It has the long ejector. Runs perfect on factory ammo, or hotter reloads. I think my crono is off, with a 122 gr magnus lead and 3.9 231 I get 1036 five shot av. this load works. When I go to west coast 115 gr I have to go to 4.3. The magnus is .356 the wc is .3555. The STI is stock from factory. It runs great untill I try to load down. On the 9mm the ejector just catches a little bit of the edge of the case. The cases or once fired win in good shape. I tried tite group and VV,with same results. I wonder if the slower slide movment could allow the next round in mag to push the fired case up thereby sliding on top of the ejector? I just changed from a Mike Plaxco .45 made back in the late 70's it will eat anything you put in it. I love the STI this is it's only problem. I don't have a dig camera to add pictures of gun, sorry. Thanks Guys . Bill aka weakeyes PS Doesn't 1036 with 3.9 231 sound a little fast?
  11. When I light load my STI 9mm for steel, the empty case will sometimes get above the ejector, but still caught by the extractor. It is not recoil spring. I have gone down in 2# increments. The slide will lock back. I did minor filing on ejector it seemed to help but did not cure. Tried diff bullet wts. The loads are hot enough to work in a stock spring Glock. I have a thumb shield on it , as I keep thumb on top of safty. I would be greatful for any help. Thanks in advance. Weakeyes
