  1. I use an off set mount. About .250 off set.
  2. Separate your brass into same head stamps Size all your brass piles and keep segregated Drop/Plunk test without loading the round to make sure it goes all the way in the chamber of your pistol. As stated you're a low volume shooter. Throw away the stuff that doesn't go in the chamber Go load the brass that does 2nd and much easier for a low volume shooter Buy 500-1000 new starline cases
  3. I've used a bunch of the egw optic plates On several different platforms. They all work/worked great. I've got a 226 that one has been on for years 10k plus rounds. Worth a try.
  4. I like clark bbls but dislike the 4 lead spring.

    226 Legion SAO RX

FWIW i did this years ago with an egw plate. Sig romeo 1, 6moa optic . The optic has a rear sight notch that is usable and a dawson front sight. 3 plus years the optic has never failed but the sight is there if you Need it

    226 Legion SAO RX

Send your slide and have it milled for the optic you want. Dawson has high sights get on website you'll see them. Sounds like a great project
  7. I've used wheeler ceramacote bake after. Duracote can in a can spray can. Duracote works well if applied in 4 coats in wear areas. Also the colors seem more durable than the " bluing" spray. Molly rosin is the most durable I have used. Spend the money on a dlc, ion bond finisd for a gun you like.
  8. Shot some groups for chrono and final sight in. 25yds 11/2 to21/2" rested. I was pleased, both my les Baer and a colt I've rebuilt . 4.25grs avg based on 10throws, 200grs sec coated, 1.250 oal, cci lpp. Pf 171, sd 8 Very happy
  9. They all seem to be problematic, nature of the beast. I've used them all, some hold up great others don't I've settled on the Sig's cause I've got three that have lots of rounds on them and have no problems. One DPP going on a new build We'll see how it goes, other DPP's have been good overall with 1 going back for service, It's like reloading to me, if you're going to shoot a lot you have to reload a lot. If you're going to shoot slide mounted optics you're going to have to replace them occasionally. FWIW
  10. If you're willing to change slightly the bayou 120gr bullet is super accurate in all my 9s and loads long out to1.170 if you want. I load to 1.140 for magazine restrictions in a couple of guns
  11. Newer unique is cleaner for sure. Unique is one of those Powders I always Keep around. It's to useful not to have some .
  12. Bayou will make them at 357 . He's done it for me for the last 4-5years
  13. Let's not discuss this for a while and honor the family of the man.

    Changing sights

Call dawson, it's the easiest way
  15. I've got a RX ie regular grip on it. I put a large regular grip on it. Ground a tungsten piece for the grip slot and epoxied it in the grip Fat SS guide rod and GG trigger kit. I still split it faster and transition faster than my Legion gun. Should be a good choice as a gun to get you ready for the GG build FWIW
  16. Tuff to prove!!!! and politely as I can put it, didn't realize it was the galleries job to RO the RO. Address via the MD and be ready to take over ROing at those matches Summary: Yes it's done, yes it's probably coaching. Honestly by the time that is done, if the shooter finds the lost target and shoots it , it won;t make a difference in their score because the the large amount of time that has gone by!
  17. Is the screw pattern rmr or sig?
  18. Way to go Mike, that will make you a hero with her, as it should !!. Hope we get to see y'all next year. Neil and Marlene
  19. Ordered over the weekend Shipped monday, arrived today wed. 48lbs UPS box Nice job BBI, setting up a shipping vendor that actually ships the box when they get it!
  20. Go with the 48 lbs package They come ups, no bs with usps
  21. I and Zombiewolff and I'm lots of other guys have shot 10's of 100's of blue lube bullets. Both indoors and outdoors. Got used to the haze from the lube burning/melting and I kinda like that smell but so much for reminiscing! Shoot them and when your coated bullets arrive store them up until the next shortage. FWIW
  22. 19lb MS cause you get slightly faster lock time, better reliability and you can get down to a 1 1/2 lb trigger if properly done. 9 lb Recoil spring seems to work well in my 9's for sight recovery
  23. I went Tanfo then to Sig x-5's Now x-5's with TXG grips so legion ish!!! I like the Tanfo's and do a lot of gunsmithing work for people but didn't want to keep smithing my own gun. So the Sig's were an easy button for me. Buy it put the gray guns kit in and a guide rod. Shoot it for how ever long you want. No tweaking continually etc just shoot it and it works and runs. If you're a tinkerer! Get a Tanfo. IF you're I just want to reload and shoot get the legion. Either will do you fine. CZ's are great but small for me and my hand size. Again CZ is a tinkerers gun. FWIW
  24. I was just on Sig's site and they're showing small and large x 5 grip modules (White) https://www.sigsauer.com/store/xseries-full-size-small-module-magwell-weight-compatible-white-4-7.html https://www.sigsauer.com/store/xseries-full-size-large-grip-module-magwell-weight-compatible-white-4-7.html When I moved to check out it seemed like they were in stock. Take a look FWIW
