  1. Listen to Memphis Go to the large frame limited
  2. LOL HOW far is far? Really appox miles or time to get there?
  3. Going to be spending some time in the Fairmont area next month or two (oct/nov) Looking for matches especially and maybe a range, might join it for a place to shoot for a couple of months if not to costly Thanks for the info Neil
  4. Maybe the least of the suck! Lol
  5. C more slide ride, .200 offset for 9major or 90 degree mount
  6. Rule book speaks of slides not the frame, I thought of doing a Butler cut on my Stock ll but can't see where the rule book allows it So if it doesn't allow it, from what I know about CO rules, it is excluded or not allowed.
  7. Slide lighting does many things , Cool is the top of the list. Read panda's thread on where and how much, great info. Biggest thing for me is the sights do not move as much with a lightened slide (either iron or optic) Sight recovery is faster and with light bullets seems even faster, the but is can you see them fast enough to use the added speed of cycling with both. Also for carry optics it's a great way to reduce weight if needed
  8. Was asked at the match last weekend, "what's the flavor of the month today"! that will give you an idea of how often I change. I'm a gun guy and a shooter so like to shoot what I've got in the safe. I suggest you pick a division and shoot it for a whole season, shoot the other gun/guns when you just want to go have some fun and not PRACTICE. whenever I've done that (shot the same gun/division) I've gone up in the standings and classification. So to answer your question - bring them both; look at the COF's and choose which one you think will be more fun on the day.
  9. EGW makes a mount that will fit about any optic (i.e. they have several mounts for several optics) Burris makes a mount for the fastfires and I believe vortex will also mount to burris mounts
  10. Gray Guns Pelt trigger may do all you need. weight reduction I'm not sure of but pre and over travel it should handle.
  11. Call EGW if they don't have one. They will cut one Down for you
  12. Option 4 More time Less money Fitting is not really a problem Unika comp on a thread bbl Or wait for kneeling atlas comp to be available
  13. Trim the follower so it doesn't engage the slide stop
  14. This is what I know but I'm not a lawyer: HAs to be a sanctioned match, NRA, USPSA and IDPA seem to meet the criteria. Match letter is helpful, mostly if you get stopped. NY like most all states has a caveat regarding sanctioned matches in the law ( I do not have the #'s etc) Gun CAN NOT be carried for PD, can only be used at the range where the match is. YES as stated above this does not include NYC or surrounding area, as even permit holders from other parts of the state cannot carry in NYC legally! Yes gun has to be bagged/cased and should not be readily accessible, obviously this portion is very subjective, short of locked in a trunk. etc etc As per the recent match and speaking to the MD earlier today. Mike Harding from WNYPPL should be a better resource than I am. As he has folks from Canada and PA at every match they have. Look up WNYPPL on Practiscore for his info. Hopefully he will have the law #'s etc to help y'all out.
  15. Incorrect We just had a match with appox 30 out of state shooters including Canada. Get match letter etc, md of match should be able to help you with that.
  16. That is the old school general thought process. I've gone to buying 100 round sample packs and seeing what shoots best out of the gun As an example: I've got a 357 S&W 627 Revo that shoots 356 Bayous great, also shoots 358 bayous and 357 Blue Bullets into the same 3" group at 50, yes 50yds from a bagged rested gun. My 1911's and Sig 226's shoot 356 and 358 coated into the same group May Tanfo 9 likes 358's also So I shoot 358's out of all of them to cut down on different bullets I have to stock etc. My open gun shoots the 358 coated without a lot of garbage in the comp but likes 356 PD's as well So all that to say it may be simpler to try the bullets that you like and have the maker size them to 357 or 358 and make sure they "plunk" at the oal you want, than doing all the figuring and then still having to test. I went with going directly to testing different bullets until they made PF and were accurate, instead of slugging and then testing etc

    P320 X5 Thread

They sell tungsten in powder form for golf clubs. Lots cheaper and easier to mix in the epoxy. Filled my Rx grip easily.
  18. You could use reg socket heads and reduce size in a lathe or drill press with careful file work
  19. Check if another spacer works better for you
  20. Round balls for black powder guns, will usually expand to groove diameter. Or Get a box of 358 dia. Lead bullets. To push through
