  1. Hopefully you have a Chrono where you can see what the powders are doing with Velocity, Std Dev and Ext spread. Those things will tell you which is the most consistent and stable loads. Of the powders you have on hand I'd start with HS6, Power pistol and WAC. Look at the reloading tables , build some ladder loads and test. Is et my chrono up so it aligns with my targets so I can test for accuracy as well as getting the chrono info. For me it makes a nice relaxing day at the range. I wind up with alot of info and targets to mull over that night. I look for 1. Stable load, 2. accuracy 3. Velocity I will glad sacrifice 50fps for a stable accurate load. FWIW good fortune
  2. HS6 in 38 super for major. But look at the information in the loading books. I like to use the powder that provides the most velocity with the lowest pressure.
  3. Usually slower burning powders than TG for the 10mm TG is fine for light loads To get the velocity that the 10mm is famous for, you need slower powders. AA9, Bluedot etc
  4. Egw ignition set Wilson flgr if you can make wgt with it. It will in 45 Dawson ice or ipsc magwell/ msh Possibly wilson mag release with paddle. Ok in ss but not cdp.
  5. Call atlas Looks like a soft slide
  6. Not only the lips but the top portion of the mags look like they need some tuning
  7. Capt. Obvious here! Are they 9mm/38 followers by chance
  8. If they are "OLD" they will look darker red almost a maroon color and some of those colored ones have caused me problems in the past. But the box was several years old and I don't know how it was stored! Prior to me getting them from a fellow shooter. (i.e. last primer shortage 8-10 years ago)
  9. Go on over, only way you'll know for sure if the dark side is for you!!! Nice build!
  10. When you disassemble you will, pull the slide bbl assy off and then pull the guide rod out from underneath with the spring and plug all together. If you need to change the recoil spring it can be CAREFULLY done while out of the gun. Safety glasses and very carefully. Remember it's only 9-11 lbs of recoil spring pressure . So it's not a lot of force. So pick a Dawson or any type with a hole drilled through it for a paper clip to hold it in place
  11. Gans guns has a list of everything you need for a limited or open gun on his website. Probably the easiest way to get an open gun built is to send him the parts, then you can do the final prep work and finishing
  12. Send the reamer back and get the correct one.
  13. J Put an optic on your Single Stack gun and call it Good to Go!!!
  14. Good fortune with the surgery. Been following as this has been an interesting topic.
  15. Pat: I wish we had a like button!
  16. As many have stated, I'll put myself in they're camp. Generally I've had great success with STI 2011's, yeah I got upset with them when their QC went down hill a few years ago. Started buying Pt, Chelly, Akai guns and frames. I live near Dan Bedell and have had him build guns for me. All basically without a problem. Mags have mostly been Gen 1 STI mags that get basic polishing and work fine. SVI old style tubes that have been re sprung and new followers added. All get a metal base plates vs the plastic ones that come with. A few had to have ramps polished and two had to have the angle recut, but all have run generally without fail. I've said this for a long time. "We are in the golden age of pistol making!" I remember the 70's when you bought a new Colt and then before ever firing it you worked on it or gave it to a qualified gunsmith to make it feed and function. Thank God those days are gone. My condolences to the OP for his problems, and even greater condolences to the people he sold those guns to if they truly were the lemons he says they were!!
  17. Remind me not to buy a gun from you. LoL
  18. Start with 23 +1 Reload to 22 FWIW
  19. Gray guns kit Stainless guide rod Sil carb on grip Romeo 6MOA dot All there gadgets taken off as they didn't show improvement on the timer. FWIW
  20. I think Everglades or Precision Delta sent a note yesterday that they had some in stock
  21. I like minor at most matches , cause they are set up for production on up. So the 10 rounds usually work well. I still like major because of my personal Shooting style, which is usually impatient.
  22. Cost effective method! Cut a coil and a half (1 1/2 ) off the springs or Dawson 10rnd mags with the base plate work great and are a good price (competition ready mags) They are metalform mags, Metalforms come with a plastic base pad that holds up just fine and they are cheap but run great. Somewhere in the 20.00 ea price range.
