  1. As stated above by Krusty. I guy I shoot with uses them in competition ICORE and IDPA and really likes them. All he shoots is revo's so I feel confident saying he wouldn't use them if they didn't work well. FWIW he uses metal clips in his 929
  2. thanks for the help in finding this guys, appreciate it!
  3. Shucks golly and I made master with a goofy long barreled gun. What should I do now; I know get a longer barreled goofier gun, maybe I can make GM with it!!!
  4. George from Revo supply reached out to me and I have the info. It's a three port comp that he's handling. For whatever reason the page wasn't opening the other day on my lap top. RSC-929-COMP Thanks for your condolences to the family!
  5. I'd be in the Dan Bedell camp for a custom SS Gun. I've had or have Limited and Open guns from Dan and all worked and shot accurately. I'm 45 minutes from him also, so that makes for an easier decision.
  6. I've got ANOTHER one coming. I was friends with the RO that got killed at the uspsa match last year. His family reached out and asked if I would like one of this revo's , I was honored that they thought of me . So I'm going to buy his 929 which has the nub on it The one from Revo Supply was the one I saw a picture of but couldn't find it on they're website Thanks for the info.
  7. Honestly couldn't remember if there were threads on it. When I pulled my barrel to do the forcing cone, I lathed the nub off and crowned the bbl. But that was several years ago. Getting another from the family of a dear friend and going to set it up for open ICORE. Thought a better comp would be the way to go etc etc.
  8. Thought someone made a comp for these 929? other than the factory one Google isn't coming up with an answer!!! Next ? does any one know the thread pitch on the muzzle? Thanks
  9. Taper crimp .002 Shoot 7 rounds and measure the 8th. Make sure it's not creeping out. Ie getting longer
  10. I run the RMR 125 TC match winners at 1.075 almost everything else at 1.150 and FMJ RN at 1.170 They shoot super groups at that OAL and have never given me a problem feeding in several different 9mm's , 320's, 1911's and Sig 226's
  11. Glad to hear! Be healed in Jesus name!
  12. Warren Kudo's to you for your help on this thread and offering to help the OP out the way you have!!!!!!!!!!
  13. All of mine change back and forth fine.
  14. You still have to work the main spring and rebound spring to get a lighter trigger. Then range test to find where it will reliably light off your primers. I usually go an 1/8 turn more than where it sets off primers (federals not crushed) It's really not hard to get a 6 to 6 1/2 lb DA trigger pull that is reliable. Any lighter and I tend to short stroke the gun, BECAUSE I don't practice enough!!!!!! I rebend my main spring with more arch in the upper section and use 11 lbs rebound springs FWIW. Good fortune
  15. Wish there was a like button!
  16. A short update (Remember these are being shot out of a NON comp'd gun) Again Not an open load, more of a range and carry load for a 4.25 and or a 5" carry gun. These were fired out of a 4.25 commander with a NON supported barrel. This gun has always chrono'd fast for it's length I did not shoot them out of the new gun yet. Used one of my older steel framed commanders first. There was no case bulging of either load So Auto comp is just about were Hodgdon website said it would be Auto comp 6.0 grs, 125 gr PD HP, cci spp, 1.230 oal give right at 1250fps (actual 1248 avg of 10) SD 11 Accuracy at 20 yds was 2" and 2.5" two different ten shot groups HS-6, 7.5grs, 125gr PD HP, cci spp, 1.230 OAL, gave 1275 fps , SD 13 Accuracy was under 3" at 20 yds. AutoComp was a nicer load to shoot, HS-6 was little dirtier but with only 20 rounds fired hard to tell for sure. Waiting on the everglades for usps then I'll run those probably with same loads other than oal. The PD's plunked at 1.240 with slight resistance (could move them but not really turn them freely) so went with 1.230 oal Thanks again to the guys that helped me out with test bullets !!!!!
  17. Received Sarge's bullets today, going to wait for the other 2 types to make here before starting the project. FWIW
  18. Youngeyes if you want to move this to reloading section it's fine with me, I'll post asap after working up the loads.
  19. When I get the bullets I'll start testing And let you know what happens.
  20. Thanks to all who offered, I've got 3 different kinds of HP's coming. After that I'll do the place and order and wait. But at least I'll have tested a 100 of the brand I finally order and wait 2-3 months to get LOL Thanks again, my LW commander 38 super carry gun experiment appreciates y'all! Mods your welcome to close this up!
  21. I bought a new toy and want to run some HP's through it before I put a 3 month order in for them. Anybody willing to sell or trade some , want a 100 for a test (function etc,) in a NON ramped colt 38 super It's a LW commander I may use for a carry gun I've got Hy Tek coated to trade or will pay for a 100 to test. I know, I know but thought someone may be willing to part with a 100 of their stash!
