Most of the wear comes between stages. Get a cover from Daa, shooters connection etc. Keep it on the gun between stages, take it off at make ready.

I know from shooting both a 929 and a 627 that the .040 9mm clips are more durable. As they should be just by the fact that they're .015 thicker.
Step on stuff it bends that fairly obvious. Start going to hard and fast un loading / Loading your Moon Clips at a match and the .025 627 clips can be bent much easier than the .040 9mm clips.
Still looking for real world , actual users of TK 9mm conversion .reamed 38/357 cyl.
In some regards it really doesn't matter I've got enough 38 Sht Colt brass to run my 627's , this new 686 and a few more if needed.
But trying to figure if I should by 38 or 9mm 6 rounds clips. Guns coming with 20 for 38's but I like to have 30-50 moons per gun.
I load my ammo the night before a match and use plano style fishing lure boxes to store them in.
It seems less hectic at the match that way, at least for me anyway.
Thanks again for the info and more would be a blessing!

Simple mechanics, 9mm are thicker because the case groove is wider.
9 moons are.035 to .040
-
Looking forward to it.
I'm currently shooting a 929 and have a couple 627s.
Thought l6 would be a good change of pace.
Probably will use 9mm with moons, since they're coming with the gun.
Ull give sht colts a try also.
Just looking for info from others who've had it done and what actually works.
Thanks Neil

So bought a 686 that tk reamed to 9mm.
Also cut for moon clips.
I don't have it yet.
So question is, how are your results with both calibers.
Are you having to shoot 9 only
Or are you just partially sizing your 38 sht colts after fired thru the 9 chamber?
Thanks for real world use info.

Practice on AR15 grips. They are cheap.
Good advice above.

Its It's actually hard to screw it up.
Short of dremeling thru the grip.
Even that jb weld would fix that.
Go for it
-
Job weld is what most people use.
I use course grip out of a harbor freight kit.
I've done 5or6 out of it.
Use an. 125 ball type bit and dremelan outline, sand it de grease it several times
Good to go

Trigger reset springs crash fairly quickly when you dryfire without dummies with spent primers or rubber in primer pocket.
It's the little tiny spring in the Striker assy
The V spring on the rear side of the housings break every so often but mine have gone a long time with no problems.
I think Shooters Connection carries those, and GG will sell them to you if you bought the trigger kit from them etc.

Simple and effective

All of mine both X-5's and 320's shoot 124/5's better than 145-50 bullets.
I've gone to shooting 124/5's
It's noticeably better / more accurate with 124/5 bullets

Had one that got dropped
7 days mail box to mail box

Moto
I had a Glock 10mm Gen2 I think that loaded up at the beginning of the rifling .
I carried a bore snake and went to pulling it threw breach to muzzle every 50 rounds
Yeah PITA, but it worked and kept the gun locked up correctly working well.
After a while changed to jacketed and that was that.
Just an idea to get you threw the rounds you have loaded!

Go with anything but STI
CK is probably the best bang for your buck currently in the "ready Built" market,
Shooters Connection usually has several in stock.
Worth a look!
-
Sorry, glad no one was hurt.
Proper loading technique and powders.
Some folks have had problems no doubt but military runs NATO spec ammo with no problems which is higher pf than most of us shoot.

CR Speed with inserts!

Max is amazing, he could even win with a Glock
Yeah he is living proof of the Indian vs the arrow thought process
-
Yes
Last year max did a clinic then shot our local match.
I played with his gun. His trigger isn't super light but break and reset were very positive, almost snap type of feel as I remember.
-
Question?
Why do you want the magazine break in the gun?
It seems fairly standard to take them out so the mags drop free for competition.
Also for the weight savings.
-
Variable is wound differently on the end of the spring.
Makes the gun open easier and close softer.
Idea being less muzzle bounce or less sight /dot bounce.
Thus quicker follow up shots.
FWIW I've used them for 10-12 years

Cast vs Forged Frame and slide with DW PM-9 if you think forged is better.
Ruger DK is a nice pistol, I think (opinion) the DW PM-9 is nicer
and has a lot more proven miles behind it.
take it FWIW

160 Bayou's are very soft shooting
2.8TG is almost cheating LOL
They thump large poppers down well, even with slightly low hits
They group extremely well in my guns etc etc.
-
Yes you can use it
I run 11 or 12 lbs 1911 springs in my 40's
Wolff springs Have it typed under the heading.
45 1911 colt etc etc etc
Then sometimes it will say also for 9/38 super
But those 1911 springs will work in any 1911 as long as the length is correct. (Govt, commander, officer etc)
you should also check for spring bind.
Insert spring on the guide rod and compress GR head all the way to the dust cover.
If it stops short, cut a coil at a time until it hits the dust cover
Machining an integrated comp?
