Did you ever find a solution to your question? I had heard of a black plastic front sight that could be milled down to fill the dovetail, but I've had no luck finding one.

Spoke with Sig today. Doesn't seem like they are offering any type of exchange program for the M17. I know it's different than the X5, but I've noticed blow back onto my DPP and I was hoping for a little love form Sig about it, but no dice. The rep told me today they are only doing the swap for the X5's

How are you even getting to leave them a message? Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I've dialed 1-800-542-6624, hit extension 7 (service), and I get a recording telling me to leave a message, but that's followed by a second message telling me the mailbox is full. I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong, but I sure can't tell what it is! Any suggestions? Thanks

Anyone here have knowledge on how Las Vegas hotels are treating guests with long guns since the mass shooting? I understand that many, if not all, Vegas hotels have always had an official policy banning guns from their hotels, but in the past I have checked in many times with Pelican long gun cases without a second look at check in. Since the mass shooting in Vegas I'm concerned that things have changed. I don't want to be denied check in at a hotel when they see a hard sided long gun case. A pisols or two isn't a problem, as they are safely tucked inside my suitcase, but it's kind of tough to hide a Pelican 3 gun case. There's got to be a way-I mean, how did all the gun guys travel with and store their firearms staying in Vegas hotels for shot show?

Cowboy, Interested to hear that Sig might replace the LCI barrel. I have a M17 with the LCI, and in using it for CO, it's a pain. Do you have any info as to how easy it was to get Sig to swap barrels?

+1 on the FB baby stroller. Once you get past the odd looks from the mother selling the stroller (I'm nearly 60!), it's a great deal.

One thought about red vs green... I've run a EoTech in the past with the red dot. Loved it. Until a night qual course for training happened, where the stage was set in total darkness except for red road flare illumination (and weapon lights of course). The red dot washed out 100%, completely not visible, when looking towards or near any of the burning road flares. I effectively had a dead optic at this time. Granted, this is a unique situation, but something to be aware of.

I've been to a few front sight classes over the years. I've also been to Gunsite classes, both pistol and rifle. The Gunsite classes are clearly better, more individualized instruction, but at a much, much higher price. I find the FS classes to be a good "refresher" course for very little money, and for that, or for a new shooter, its a good deal. As for stance. I do recall them being a bit rigid about the stance of the shooters years ago, but that seems to have changed. If you are a beginner, and that's clear to them, then they will try to keep you in line with their choice of shooter stance. But, for any shooter with more experience, they are completely fine with "shooters choice". A much better balance, in my opinion.

Sierra Designs has a good value to quality ratio. It's not Patagonia, and it's light years from Frog Toggs, it kinda hits a sweet spot. Check them out.

I have only minimal experience (-5,000 rounds) with the DPP, but it had to go back to fix the sliding battery contact. That said, they fixed it quickly, and time will tell about how long the fix will hold.

That's how I check. Hard shaking upside down (unloaded) and if it stays in, it's tight enough for me.
