  1. FWIW I tried the 8, 9, & 10 lbs. springs in my S2's to me there wasn't that much difference I could feel. So I went with a 8 in one and a 9 in the other.
  2. I have never understood the significance of the pencil test. I have a box stock Sig P226 that won't get a pencil to clear the barrel, BUT will set everything under the sun off. While my CZ will shoot the same pencil 7 or so inches out of the barrel and it only 80% with CCI. My other CZ will barely clear the barrel with the pencil and is 100% with Fed & Win and 80% with CCI. Both CZ's have 8.5 lbs springs. Someone take the new firing pin put it in a gun with a 10 lbs PD spring and tell me how it does with CCI primers. My 2 Stock II's have been 100% with Fed & Win primers using a Extreme firing pin and 10 lbs PD springs.
  3. Me to, just for kicks. I don't know if I would learn anything useful. I guess I could screw with loads and COAL to squeeze out more accuracy. But that wouldn't fix my bad habit of relaxing my grip while shooting a stag. Accuracy starts off great by the end of the stage too many D,s.
  4. All I know it what I have read. A mechanical rest gives more people the smallest groups. I can "only" shoot 3 to 4 inch group at 25 yards (6 shots), The gun seems to have little to do with it. Hell I surprised the poop out of myself when I took my brand new CZ Rami out and easily held the A-Zone at 25 yards with the first 10 shots I ever shot with it, I was shocked.
  5. Easy because if you go out and shoot your gun over and over and over and get your best group, I can guarantee that if you put the gun in a Ransom Rest you will get better groups. I've seen people who have access to Ransom Rests watch their group shrink from off hand. The gun is more capable than most shooters.
  6. Mixed cases is your major issue. What to you get when you use only one brand of brass? I only sort brass for major matched. With mixed brass I'm fine with +/- .006. for a range of .012 to .013. If I sort by head stamp like I do for major matches I get +/- .02 to .03 pretty regularly.
  7. I'll toss out my Tanfo S2, 1911, and M&P 9Pro load too 3.4gr N320 @ 1.135 with Fed of Win primers using coated 147gr flat nose bullets. that gives me a PF of 129-132ish. For my CZ and P226 I have to add .1gr to make PF.
  8. More accurate than you and I will ever be.
  9. FWIW I've used most brands of Coated Bullets and I can't tell them apart, they have been all interchangeable. I tend to buy different ones each time. Spread the wealth as it were.
  10. If you own the carbine I can't see a break helping. My MPX recoils like my M&P-22. It seems like way too much trouble to get it put on.
  11. Fed SRPs are great for 38 Super major so I guess you could assume that would be great for 9 Major.
  12. I used felt wheels on my Demel and Flitz polish. I polished everything even the rails on the frame and slide. In fact I have polished the rails on most of my guns. It sure made my 1911 run a whole lot better.
  13. I would be very interested to see what the firing pin does for my guns. I've tuned both my Stock II's to be 100% with Winchester SPPs so far. Last weekend I took a Stoeger class and went through just shy of 1000 rounds at 100% FYI I am using a PD 10lbs hammer spring, Extreme hammer, and 1 piece sear. People keep telling me my gun should not work. But it does. I would love to see if the heavier firing pin changes things. I have never tried CCI primers. A good test would be to see the reliability of the gun with CCIs before and after.
  14. This^^^^^^^ If you load a lot you will start wanting different dies. Personally I like the Redding Comp Seating Die and I use the Redding Comp resizing Die. Since I load coated bullets I use the Dillon crimp die, BUT when I change to jacketed bullets I go with a Lee FCD. The 550B just given you more versatility and it seems to have better resale value.
  15. I shoot for 128 to 133 it's where my load puts me. In all my chrono-ing I've never had a round give me a PF below 126!!!! So that's what load to.
  16. OK my N320/135gr BBRN loads. Tanfo Stock II and M&P 9Pro. 3.6gr N320 under 135gr BBRN at 1.115-1.120 using either Winchester or Federal SPP (have used CCI on the M&P and saw no real chrono difference) this load gives me a Power Factor of 129 to 133. CZ SP-01 I had to bump the load up .2gr to 3.8gr to give me a Power Factor of 129 to 132. I would use 3.7gr for practice and local matches this gave me a Power Factor of 126 to 129ish. The OAL was bumped up a little to 1.120 to 1.125 this was using either Winchester or Federal SPP.
  17. You in luck it's going to happen!!!
  18. Not that I don't believe you, but why?
  19. Although I've had great luck with the Extreme FP I'll give these a try. Looking forward to trying them.
  20. So far on my new Stock II's I've gotten 100% with Win SPP's using a PD 10lbs main spring, Extreme FP, PD firing pin spring with a 1/4 inch clipped off, and lots of polishing. One thing I do is bury my primers. I have a 1050 and it makes it easier to bury the primers. I reload revolver style.
  21. In my opinion most light strikes are a product of primer seating. I've gotten 100% reliability on my CZs with Winchester primers by seating them revolver style. If you don't know what revolver stype is visit TK Customs and look under action tuning. They have a link to a photo of a properly seated primer. The top of the primer is slighly crushed by the primer seating punch. The DA on 2 of my CZs are right at 4 lbs with a SA of right at 2 lbs. Seating primers this way I get 95+% DA and 99% SA with CCI. In my opinion primer sensitivity from most to least is; Federal, Winchester, Remington, CCI, and..................................................Tule/Wolf.
  22. My load for my CZ SP-01 is 3.7gr N320 under a 135gr BB at 1.115-1,120. This gives me a PF of 126 to 128. For larger matches I bump the charge up to 3.8gr which gives me a PF of 128 to 131. At Area 2 I chronoed at 129ish BUT by bullet weighed 134.1gr. Glad I had that extra .1 gr of powder. On a side note I own 3 SP-01s and 2 have really slow barrels, the other will always chrono 2 to 3 PF higher. Compared to my Kimber 1911, M&P 9Pro and Tanfo Stock II the SP-01s are 4 to 5 PF lower with the exact load. I literally have to make a special load for the CZ where the same load will work fine in the other guns or I end up shooting a 133 to 137 PF load.
  23. I like the CR Speed stuff. It's what I first got and have stuck with. I have a Shooters Connection belt and it's too stiff! I have a more oval waist and the belt doesn't fit around it well! Boss Hanger with the basic Bladetech holster is the way to go. Bladetech holsters are simple and just work.
  24. I've been setting off Winchester primers 100% with the 10lbs PD hammer spring. I did extensive polishing on the gun and I did clip about 1/4 inch off the PD firing pin spring. Having played in revolvers I feel people don't pay enough attention to primer seating. With a DA gun it helps to bury the primer. Go to TK Customs website and look in the section for action jobs, they have a link to a photo of a "properly" seated primer. I have a 1050 and it makes burying the primers easier and more consistent. Yes I use mixed brass.
  25. I just picked up 2 Stock II's I do found the mag issue very interesring. When I get my guns out of jail I'll have to test all my mags. I have 6 total.
