  1. signed up for all 3 divisions, can't wait for this match!! one to look forward to for sure!
  2. ^^ Sad to see it go with a whimper instead of a bang..........only hope now is for the GA crew to come through with the SE match
  3. Stroking is one of about 10 things you can do to an Open gun to make it "feel" better to you. I personally love all my stroked guns. Your best bet is to shoot one non stroked vs one stroked with similar characteristics(topple holes, slide cuts, comps, etc) side-by-side
  4. been on that email list for the last 4 years.....nothing yet
  5. anyone seen wood or certs from this match yet?
  6. gotta say, after seeing one in person i may have to give this a shot, the weight shift is pretty neat
  7. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJdPETvwDB_ECiS5DUv2Spw 2015 Nationals is V8, Indiana is hybrid
  8. I have both, the original Hybrid barrel gun that was the test platform for the new comp design(same design as Shane's gun he shot at worlds), and the new shorter V8. The hybrid shoots very predictable and recoils into your hand about the same as a limited gun, the dot tracks reliably up at 1 o'clock and comes back to center very predictably. The V8 looks violent, but hits the hand very soft, and the dot never leaves the center of the glass, depending on your grip, if you do what you're supposed to do, it will come back right where it was when you broke the first shot. Open is all about how the gun feels TO YOU. I wouldn't shoot anything but the V8 for USPSA/IPSC, but i like the hybrid for steel, because i can use the predictability to help move the gun and dot to the next target. Load development for both is key for how it feels as well. If you're anywhere near VA let me know, ill bring both to the range and you can try them out side by side with the two loads i use.
  9. really looking forward to this one! very good range to hold it at as well
  10. I use IBJ 124 "doubles" for my practice loads, they're way cheap. Precision Delta 124 JHP for match ammo, those things run extremely smooth out of every open gun I've tried them in. (Akai, SV, Limcat, STI)
  11. try both live fire, whatever is consistently faster.....there's your answer
  12. More M plus in open than any other division?! Really glad i signed up for this year!
  13. bought one as my first open gun, didn;t work with the SJC upright mount, switched to the 90 degree, ran fine, loaned it to a friend 3 years ago when i got my first 2011 Open gun. Never looked back. I forget every few weeks that i still even own the damn thing....................MHO
  14. damn wedding getting in the way! next year for sure!
  15. I usually run 10.2-10.4 sith an almost identical gun and get 173-175 PF easily, if you're not compressing loads you can keep going up .1 till you find that "sweet spot" as mentioned earlier, once there, you will definitely know it!
  16. 8.1-8.2 for me with MGs 124s is easy 174PF, i have 3 popples
  17. it may be wet, but the big field courses at Sir Walter usually stay pretty puddle free as they're grass. The bottom bays with walls.......eh not so much. Rain gear and a chancge of shoes is heavily advised IMHO. See you guys there.
  18. This was a great match with great staff and a great range! I'll be back next year!
  19. I like the blend of forcing accuracy and not just speed, as well as penalizing errant shots, there's some voodoo about it sometimes where the best shooter(or the one who shot best) is sometimes not reflected. Maybe it's just me?
  20. High speed gear does not make up for low speed skills

  21. It doesn't cover re setters for your squad, but no one doesn't reset, it's really not that much of a lift. This is a super fun match, if you have the ability to attend, I highly recommend it.
  22. This is good advice, make sure and talk to your smith, make sure he can set up your gun to run major and minor loadsAnother +1 for Akai here as well
  23. Wow, not even 24 hours, and all Saturday slots are gone, got in fro Friday, should be fun!
