  1. Ok I switched from my old Dillon 550 which is at least 25 years old to my brand new one it dropped from .010 to .004. I then I started lubing every 5th to 8th piece of brass and it knock it down to .001 and she runs really smooth like I'm not even resizing brass. I have never lubed pistol brass before except for my 10mm and .40 I do a full push through resize on. I'm getting the occasional one that runs long but I'm using powder coated 124 gr bullets from Brazzos. I believe my issue is resolved good luck to every one else.
  2. Also when my shell plate has one round in it will bell the case as set, but when the shell plate is full it will hardly bell the case and my ram seems to twist at the top of the up stroke. See if yours is also doing the same.
  3. I'm also running into the same issue , I have 3 Dillon 550's the oldest one is at least 25 years old. When I run one single case through the press to set dies it holds at 1.125 every time on a mix of head stamps. When its full it will run all the way up to 1.132 this press has run a bit long when full but its getting worse. I will switch to my newer press and see if it fixes the issue and may send my old press back to Dillon for a refurbish.
  4. I still have all my Tanfo's but 3 years ago I also went to a glock 35 to cover my limited gear. I also added 2 kids to my family since then so my match time is lets say limited to not much. I like that I don't need to carry a back up gun to matches anymore maybe just a parts kit. Now I love my Tanfo's they seem to fit my hand like a glove and I can run them fast. I don't have the time to tinker or tune them I like putting gas in my glock 35 and blasting away. My old set up on my Tanfo's with running 10 mm mags and running my ammo really long made it shoot like a kitten but when I switched over to the new mags it did make it a bit more snappy. Plus my blue label price for my glock 35 was around $450 which sounds a lot nicer then a $1500 for a STI.

    Shield Arms

I also pre-ordered on Sep 14 my order number was 14,997. I ordered 3 mag deal with the mag drop included saved me $20 bucks and a 5 round extention. I check every couple days or so and it just says processing I think mine might be the fourth batch.
  6. I have not tried the Fiochi primers yet. I had many light strikes with Winchester primers none with CCI with the lighter spring. Good thing the Winchester primers are a gold color and CCI are silver or one of my matches would of been complete crap. I was able to swap out all the Winchester's for the CCI at the match and she ran great with the lighter spring. I opted to put the factory spring back in so I don't have to worry about it since I still have a bunch of the Winchester primers left.

    Where to BUY

Anyone know where I can buy a speed sec 5 holster for my Glock 35. Looking everywhere and can not locate a dealer. Thanks
  8. Thanks again for all this tips. The dies I got in the deal are Redding dies with a Full length resizing die. I know the bolt guns fire form the casing , so I'm thinking I should only use the full length die when its fresh brass or once fired from another rifle does this sound about right.
  9. The only issue I have had with the shaving is when a piece gets stuck under my primer when I'm seating it. It has made a small indent in the primer. I just try to keep a can of air handy and a small brush to clean up. As far as shorten the brass life I haven't noticed any issues with brass casing I more often will crack a nickel case but I don't think it has anything to do with the shavings. This seems to only happen with my Lee dies.
  10. Wow I'm glad opened this post up , you just saved me $ 40 bucks. Thanks.
  11. Thanks for the Info I have a lot of information now.
  12. I will work up my own loads , but a 308 going around 2000 fps sounds more like a 300 blackout. I will chronograph his and see what I really get.
  13. The mods on the rifle as I got it are as follows, H & S Precision stock (PSS001) I think all the there stocks are aluminum bedded. Rings are Millet high mount not sure of the base I will have to check when I get home. AAC muzzle break. I will post his load data he has on his hand loads. From what I can remember they are 180 gr Hornady SST, I can't remember the powder off hand but I do remember it was 32 gr. charge He told me they are slow only around 2000 fps he set them up with the hornaday lock and load length guage and recommended to me to purchase one for myself. The trigger is the X-Mark Pro. This Rifle has the 20 inch barrel 1/10 twist. No bipod as of yet and no stock pack yet. I plan on having a friend of mine that has a lot of precision rifle experience see what it can do in the hands of a proper shooter. Thanks for all the input I will start shopping around for a bipod and stock pack.
  14. I thought all the case prep that goes into rifle reloading would not make it a fun process, but I found like really like going through all the steps and trying to produce a good quality round. Right now I am reloading on a Dillon 550 but not progressively completing each step separately. Does anyone progressively reload and what kind of accuracy can be achieved by doing so. I know what you mean when I shoot USPSA its one bag now I back the car up to the range.
  15. Just picked up a Remington 700 SPS tactical AAC in 308 with H & S stock, millet 4x16x56 and a AAC muzzle brake. 600 brass dies and 600 bullets, all the brass is once fired and all the bullets are a combination of 168 grain and 175 grain ballistic tip match grade. I have been reloading pistol for many years, and just started reloading rifle. So how did I do I got it all for $ 1200 and any ideas on any mods or add on I might need. He gave me what he had left of his hand loads I was able to print 1 1/2 inch at 200. This purchase was just for punching paper and having fun and my safe was lacking a bolt gun.
  16. On my 550 I can crank out 100 rounds in about 11 minutes then chamber check then repeat.
  17. I could afford the 1050 but cant afford to feed it I would go broke. I will stick with my 2 550's. I go through about 8000 to 10000 rounds a year with my 550's between 8 different calibers. I get time to reload but not much time to shoot since I work swing shift and work weekends . I say if you have long arms and deep pockets buy the 1050.
  18. I have 2 550's one for small and one for large primers works like a champ. The only trouble I ran into was my first 550 is about 25 years old the second one is only a few years old I cant interchange blocks from one to the other without resetting my dies my shell plate makes contact with my resizing die before it gets to full down position. That's why I set one for Large and one for small.
  19. I get the same shavings on my 550. I just keep a can of air and a small tooth brush to clean it all off. I use Dillon dies and lee dies and it does it worse with the lee dies.
  20. I have been shooting Tanfoglio's in limited for the last 3 years or so, but now I will be selling everything off and going with a glock 35. I have had issues with my Tanfoglio's this last year and they are not as user friendly for parts and such. Plus I carry a glock 17 for work and my scores have been falling.
  21. The company name is Smith Security Safes Inc. there in Tontogany, Ohio. Base price of the Heavy vault door is $1625 but after I got all my extras added it was $2700. I will work on getting some pic's .
  22. We just had a new house built and I was able to get my man cave. I paid extra for the 9 foot ceilings and extra 8 inch poured wall to support my 800lb custom vault door. I have more room then I ever had before now I just have to buy some new stuff to fill it. One of the best things about my vault door was its American made and even better Ohio made. The builder also likes challenges and will make whatever you want. I also run my DVR system for all my house cameras to the room, and motion alarm system also.
  23. Thanks for the reply's. I will have to check with Dillon and see what it would cost to get them to recondition my older 550b press.
  24. I have 550b press that is about 25 years old. I just recently purchased a newer 550b press so I can run one for small primers and one for large primers. I seem to run into a dilemma. I took my .380 set up tool head and tried it on my newer 550b and I cannot get a full stroke out of the press. This caused me to reset all my dies to get it to work. Is there a longer stroke on the newer press or I'm I just missing something. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
  25. I have one but its for a Micro red dot. I love my older Tanfo its now my back up limited gun. I have never seen one of the three hole mounts for sale if I can find mine I will see if it has some company name on it. Mine came with the package deal I got.
