  1. I'm pretty sure all the SAO variants have adjustable pretravel and overtravel. So as much takeup as you want there to be for SAO.

I've been lusting for one as well, but I wanted to call them up and ask about a SAO variant. edit: they also had a longslide variant that they were selling for a little while. I'd really prefer a longer barrel.
  3. That's the idea I went and re-seated the bullets in some of my rounds and didn't blow up my gun. I'm gonna pull the longer 150 rounds or so that I have and re-do them. Seems like I probably put too much crimp on them as well.
  4. After witnessing some feeding issues at the range and dealing with some stuck cartridges I found that the shoulder of these HBFPs contacts the rifling much sooner than a typical RN. So I need to shorten my COL in order for it to work. Drastically shorten Berry's is recommending 1.05ish instead of more typical 1.125. I can't find any details on N330 for a load this short. I'm going to bring the powder charge down a few grains and see how it behaves with this shorter COL.
  5. I'm still working on a 4.4gr N330 load with my Berry's 124gr HBFPs. I don't think that the flat points are working out well for feeding, but I need to do some more experimentation. I also think that I need to adjust the crimp. I was having trouble with cases getting stuck in the chamber when cycling manually and with another fellow's CZ-75 at the range. I'll probably switch to N320 on the next powder order I make.
  6. You sir have impeccable taste in firearms and magazine loading devices
  7. Where do you get Grams followers for a TS? I've checked his site and all he has is STI/SVI stuff. Surely those don't work, do they? Or is this just an 'dining off-menu' kind of thing? Since his order forms are all interpreted by a human anyway. Anyone have feelings for these baseplates http://www.taylorfreelance.com/a_glock_guy_with_a_cz.htm ? They're about $8 cheaper than CZC, plus he has springs that work (CZC is out).
  8. Thanks guys, that's a better solution anyway. I figured 3 to 4k was a pretty short lifetime for a slide catch. The +1 will help too, as a couple of my mags I can't get 20 into.
  9. I thought so too, but I dismantled all 5 of my mags and cleaned them really good. Then I tried them one after the other and couldn't get any of them to lock it open, even my fairly new ones. I could probably resolve it with mag springs, but I'm not sure where to dig up extra power springs as CZC is out of stock. Stuart Wong did all the work to that gun. It's not really noticeable, but he also undercut the trigger guard and the beaver tail as well. It feels absolutely amazing. The finish is black Cerakote.
  10. I reached a milestone with my TS today. The slide stop finally got worn enough that it wouldn't lock back the slide on empty. Thankfully CZ ships 3 spares with the gun.
  11. Just had Stuart turn my TS into a pseudo-CTS CZC flat trigger and comp hammer. Had the triggerguard and beavertail undercut. Also had the awful grip checkering milled off to reduce the grip size (to be soon covered in skate tape). The frame is cerakoted black, even if the sunset lighting makes it look kind of brown. Elected to stick with a blued slide as it looks good in CZC's CTS pictures. I opted to leave the dustcover alone as it would have been a hassle to find the appropriate FFL to move the serial. I also prefer the look of a full dustcover. Though someone posted a compromising angular cut that was quite attractive earlier in the thread. I'm stuck with the silver grips for now. Unless someone can find me a US stocking dealer for http://www.shop-cz.com/grips-for-cz-75-b-cz-85-b-anodized-short-black/d-70758/ and http://www.shop-cz.com/magazine-funnel-anodized-cz-75-ts-black/d-70738/.
  12. I think the only reason I have 330 and 340 is because Brownells was out of 320 when I ordered. Present load is a 124gr HBFP over 4.5gr N330. Ordered a few recoil springs last night to tune it up. We'll see how it goes once Stuart gets it back to me
  13. Hey guys, I just got my 550 the other day and I'm anxious to work up some loads. Anyone have a pet load for 9mm minor out of this thing? What kind of springs are you using? Do standard 75b recoil springs work? (I assume the mainspring is the same across most of the CZ line) I'm also interested in knowing the stock spring rates so I can be proper scientific about this. I've got some Berrys 124gr HBFPs I'm gonna try out along with some N330 and N340 powder. So loads involving similar weights and powders would be really helpful. Thanks
  14. Stuart is awesome. He did the trigger on my Kadet and he's doing the 'CTS' conversion to my TS right now. Also CZ club is the best club

    Czechmate

Welp, found the site I wanted. http://www.shop-cz.com/magazine-funnel-anodized-cz-75-ts-black/d-70738/ and http://www.shop-cz.com/grips-for-cz-75-ts-short-checkered-black/d-70774/ But it looks like it's gonna be a bit steep to get them over here to the states. I've bugged CZ-USA about CZUB parts before, they told me it could take months to source parts. Anyone got a source stateside? Still curious about what people think about the feel of the checkered grips as well.

Hubert, what's the model number for those grips and the magwell. CZUB's site is slow and vague.I know I found a place that sold those parts and wasn't horrific to navigate. I'd appreciate it if you could point me where you got them. Also, what do you think of those grips vs the CZC aluminum skate tape combos?
  17. Thanks for that, ihatepickles. My TS is on its way (or with) eerw right now to have it turned into a pseudo-CTS. I can't stand the stock frame checkering. I'm having it filed off so that I can put skate tape in its place. Also having the trigger guard and beavertail undercut. After that it will get a CZC proper flat trigger, comp hammer, and triggerguard. I think the CZC magwell is ugly, so that's why I'm trying to find a source for the Czechmate model. Hopefully I can get some meaningful traffic on these forums so I'll be able to show it off when it comes back. (Or one of you kind folks can alley-oop me again )
  18. What do you think of the textured grips over the thick aluminums + skate tape that CZC sells? Also, does anyone know the model number for the ones that fit with the czechmate magwell? CZUB's site is slow and vague. Where did you snag the czechmate style magwell? I know I stumbled across a site selling them back in the day, but I neglected to bookmark it Thanks Also, here's my Kadet after EERW got done with it i.imgur.com/zYaG4.jpg (Sorry about the obnoxious quotes. Don't have a high enough postcount to post links which means that I can't quote pictures properly either.)
  19. Haha, I went hunting for you in the member database and didn't even realize you posted in the thread. PM incoming!
  20. Awesome, I knew I couldn't possibly be the first guy to stuff a SAO trigger on one. I'll hit those guys up Thanks!
  21. Hey guys, I'm shopping around for a new .22lr pistol that is less of a moon gun: (lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LjUDgZfEev0/TRg6acxpDAI/AAAAAAAAAcw/LIZePxIVtVw/s640/izh-35m_02.jpg) (what I have now) And more of something I can use to train for my centerfire stuff. I've already tried the S&W model 41 and didn't like the grip or the controls. I don't like the grip angles on Ruger's MK series, and the 22/45 has weird balance due to the plastic frame. Buck Marks are okay, but not really what I want. I used to own a Sig Mosquito and it was awful. Also used to own a Walther P22 and the grip was too small. I've been tempted by a couple High Standards, but I want something more modern so that I can actually *find* magazines for them. I already own a CZ-75 TS and love it (save for the awful strap checkering). So I got to thinking about buying a host frame for a Kadet kit and having the trigger swapped to SAO and a comp hammer stuffed on it. But then I found this: (czcustom.com/CZ-75-Kadet-PolyCoat-22.aspx) Which appears to be a Kadet kit already fitted to a CZ-75 frame so I don't have to worry about getting rid of a perfectly serviceable 9mm topend. I tried 4 times to ahold of a smith at CZ Custom so I could talk about what my options were for tricking one out, and nobody seems to be able to return my calls. I'm a little disappointed because I've done some business with them before and I wanted to give my TS the CTS treatment sometime in the future. So, who else out there does CZ smith work? Bud's will sell me the same gun for the same price (budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411539771), so all CZ Custom would be doing is saving me time and money on shipping. (Please excuse the dumb links, apparently my post count isn't high enough for real links. And my post doesn't make much sense without them.)
