  1. Amazon has the Frankford Arsenal Rotary Tumbler for $127 this morning
  2. Just guessing, but the sale appears to be a true black Friday sale. it says it starts on the 23rd--so maybe the website will say out of stock until then.
  3. the details of the blue bullets sale are up on their webpage.
  4. Just was looking at these--the black is on sale for $59.99 and they have free shipping over $49 today.
  5. Have the opportunity to buy an Franchi Affinity 3.5 at a pretty good deal. I know there's been a few threads here and elsewhere about this being a viable 3-gun choice. However, this one has a 3.5" chamber, and I'm assuming a larger loading port. Would the 3.5" setup be a problem for 3-gun use?
  6. Shooter's Connection has advertised a 1911 builder's class at Advanced Weapons Technology in Kentucky with Don Fraley. 4 days, and you can make a 1911 or a 2011. $1,200 plus your parts. Wondering if anyone has done that? Or, would you consider building your own to use in Limited? Would you feel comfortable using a first time build in Limited? I suppose that's a question that's slightly silly--if it works, it works. Considering the class as a mini-gunsmith lesson on the 1911/2011 so going forward perhaps I can change out broken parts, tune as needed, etc. Folly, or no?
  7. To those that have gone to the Wanenmacher show in Tulsa--is there a decent amount of reloading gear, components, etc. at the show? How's the level of competition guns as opposed to historic guns, defensive/run of the mill guns, etc.?
  8. Thanks--i should've been more clear--the Colorado matches
  9. Charlie, Are you going to have the books at matches at all?
  10. I may take the heat for the most doltish comment on this forum, but how is it people shoot the chrono? I hear that every time there's a discussion about them. Is it focusing on the machine and just not thinking? Or is it just bad shooting? are the wands being shot, or the actual machine? I also read somewhere that there was a bad batch of Caldwell's. I have no idea if this is true or not as it seems like quite a few people have had trouble, but then plenty of people seem to do just fine with them.
  11. Cha-Lee, Sounds like a pain--glad it turned out to be a good visit in Vegas, at least. To those that have never been to an HPPS match, I can attest Cha-Lee puts on a great match every month I was reading your posts from earlier in the year when you were considering American Select versus NobelSport Prima SV. I know you ultimately decided to go with the Prima SV, but it seemed that all of a sudden that was just the choice, where earlier there had been some preliminary discussion of the different powders you were considering, their temp sensitivities/reactions, accuracy, etc., and then it seemed that there was just a winner without a further discussion (or maybe I completely missed a post discussing the final analysis). I was wondering if you could give a sentence or two on why Prima SV ultimately prevailed over American Select (if it was anything beyond most consistent speed standard deviations between the two).
  12. Are there other aftermarket Scorpion charging handles that folks like? Or is the HBI Theta the way to go?
  13. Sig0431: Yes, would love to see the rig--let me know what works best for you--I can be pretty flexible. Are you coming to CO to shoot a match? Also, why would there be an issue running these in limited? I can see in 3Gun where you may be on the ground, etc. Just wondering about your concern in limited. I'll tell you where i am right now--I've shot a few matches and am trying to figure out where to land (production, limited 10, single stack, limited). I've shot everything so far with carry gear, which is not optimal. Where I've enjoyed matches more is limited 10 (instead of single stack). Ideally, i'm looking for a pouch that can convert to single stack mags to double stack mags with a minimum of fuss (i've watched the black scorpion vid and it doesn't seem too bad). of course, down the road, it may make more sense just to have a belt for different divisions, but my true aim is to get an STI and just be in limited--but that's down the road. The other pouch i was strongly considering (until i saw the black scorpion this weekend) was the Guga Ribas pouch. Is it possible to convert these (or mount these) to run on an ELS clip?
  14. i've been looking at these, and am wondering why they aren't more popular--they seem to be superior to all others
  15. So, are you going to say what the issues are, or should we guess?
  16. Mark, did you use the ELS belt as a template, or just use the clips as a guide? Did you put the holes all the way around the belt?
  17. did you use the ELS belt as a template, or just use ELS clips as the template? did you put the ELS holes all the way around the belt, or just on portions of the belt?
  18. Funny that when someone wants a reliable gun that goes bang and you can stake your life on, glock gets the nod, even when you "wouldn't allow one in the house." Do you know how asinine you sound?
  19. IHMSA15151, are you looking for a flashlight that has an integrated battery that you place on a charger? or one that will accept rechargeable batteries? For me, the latter is preferable because you can obviously change out the batteries as needed. to me, the benchmark flashlight for general use is the Surefire P2X Fury tactical. it has a twist-on/off switch with a momentary on by pressing the power button. http://www.surefire.com/illumination/flashlights/p2x-fury-1.html of course, it doesn't fit either of your criteria--under $100 or rechargeable--it will accept rechargeable 16340 cells (the rechargeable version of the CR123). However, 16340 batteries are relatively low power and what you want is a light that will accept an 18650 battery, which is the size of two CR123s, but 2mm thicker. They simply won't fit in that light. Surefire makes a version of that light that will accept 18650s, but it's even more expensive http://www.surefire.com/illumination/flashlights/p1r-b-peacekeeper.html For a light that i really like that takes 18650s, i would strongly consider the Fenix PD35. It has a great beam, long run time, and multiple brightness modes that are easy and not confusing to switch through. https://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Flashlight-EdisonBright-Lithium-Batteries/dp/B00DR9GWX0 I have two of them and actually use one as a bike headlight. I can say this--if i lost one of my PD35s, i would replace it with another without hesitation. (Same for the surefire fury) Here's a better deal on the PD35(and i think you can get 10% off if you sign up with their email--check it out) http://www.fenix-store.com/fenix-pd35-led-flashlight-960-lumens/ For a little more $100, you could buy a PD35, a charger, and at least one 18650. One place you might look for research is goinggear.com I have no affiliation with them, but they put out tons of vids on youtube reviewing flashlights, and they are 2A friendly. Frankly, you could call them or email them and ask for suggestions and get good advice. Here's two great 18650s and a charger for $42 http://goinggear.com/nitecore-i2-and-olight-18650-bundle-intellicharge-battery-charger-2-x-olight-3400-mah-18650-lithium-ion-rechargeable-battery.html also, don't be seduced by lumen ratings. i have both of these lights and there is very little difference (if any) between a 600 lumen surefire and a 1000 lumen fenix. Good luck and let us know what you get
