  1. Need an explanation, please.
  2. I'm amazed! I shoot a 5.25 and use MG 124 JHP's. if I load anything over 1.095 and drop a loaded round in the chamber (Barrel removed) and turn it over it won't drop out. It seems everyone is able to load longer than me. Frustrating! I'm using 3.7 gr N320 with R-P cases. Not Chronographed yet.
  3. I have 1400 Hornady HAP .40 cal bullets for sale. Where on this forum can I advertise these? I am not a dealer.
  4. Waiting for an answer on this as well.
  5. I would love to see that kind of accuracy from my Pro .40. I sent it to S&W and they gave me a new barrel. The new on is no better than the old one.
  6. Titegroup and N320 behind a 124 Montana Gold JHP works well in my XD(m) 5.25. The edge in accuracy on preliminary testing shows an accuracy edge to Titegroup but N320 shoots noticeably softer.
  7. I got a Blade Tech DOH for my 5.25 today. Nice fit. Anxious to try it on Wednesday!
  8. I concur but that in itself adds to the problem!
  9. I do this every day! I'm retired. What do people do who have work all day!
  10. Now there is a way I could do some damage! ;-)
  11. I own a M&P Pro .40, 5 inch of course. I would vote for the 9mm and 5 inch. Less barrel rise, plain and simple. 9mm is cheaper as well (or used to be!).
  12. I started this thread so I should report my results for you guys. I had the SA Custom shop hand fit the stock barrel on my 5.25. Cost was $135.00 including shipping and turn around was much quicker than they had told me. I shot it today with 2 types of factory ammo (Cheap stuff) and 2 different handloads, both with 124 gr MG JHP in front of Titegroup and one with N320. These loads were not developed, just loaded at random. The cheap factory stuff actually improved by cutting group size nearly in half. The handloads improved as well but not by 50%. All in all, I was pleased. Groups were shot by hand hold with dust cover support at 7.5 and 17.5 yards. The gains were at 17.5 yards which I needed to improve as the first thing I'm going to do with this gun is Steel Challenge and I don't need to shoot that with my lack of skills and old eyesight. Six inch groups were not going to work for me! As a side note, for comparison I shot my Les Baer 1911 with my handloads. This gun remains an amazing piece! Pretty much one hole at 7.5 yards and not much bigger at 17.5. Gotta love Les Baer's handy work. Thanks for listening and thanks to TGO for his valuable insight. Thanks to all of the Forum members who contributed to my knowledge of the XD(m) and loading info for it.
  13. Apparantly, Springfield has different throat depths on the XD(m) depending on age. Seems strange.
  14. Have you dropped a loaded round with the 1.125 OAL in the barrel and then let it fall out?
  15. Been watching! Has anyone seen CCI primers on Powder Valley since January?
  16. I load with a Hornady LnL press and have had OAL problems myself. Powder charge could be slightly compressed.
  17. I have found that my max OAL of this bullet in my 5.25 is 1.09". On this board I see people who use much longer lengths than this. I am wondering what others who use this combination have found to be their max OAL.
  18. Small point for an old thread but I believe the XD(M) stock recoil spring is 18 1/2 lbs, not 18.
  19. I was told that the lower the rating on a Wolff spring, the longer it will be.
  20. Outstanding accuracy in my S&W Model 19. Tested light loads in .38 Special and .357 Mag. 231 was great for these.
  21. I started to go through these videos and will finish when time permits. I have to wonder why people who make some of these videos on You Tube fill them with unimportant non relevant stuff. In the case of the first video in the series, the author wastes about 4 minutes of the viewer's time telling why he prefers the innards of a Glock. If I'm taking apart an XD(M), is this important? Do I care? Sorry for the rant but I hate it when someone wastes my time.
  22. Thanks for your reply TGO! I could not have received a more expert opinion. One question though.....have you seen a Ransom Rest used on the XD(M) for load testing? I have a Ransom Rest but my eye sight sucks! Old Timers Disease!
