Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Probably only around 1000k of 9mm. I can't find time to shoot...
  2. For the price, I really like the Midway bag. I got the larger of the two sizes, and it is a little big for me, but I would rather have more room than to have too little. Has not failed me yet, and I drag it everywhere. Overall, a great value.
  3. I just got the blade tech DOH. It was very stiff/difficult to draw from at first. I adjusted my draw to make it more straight up, and that seemed to do the trick. After about 100 or so draws, it is now pretty easy and very smooth to draw from. Still need to get the tech lock attachment for it, though.
  4. Congrats. That's great news. I like the raccoon avatar pic btw
  5. I watch this show sometimes, but I prefer American Guns. Still on Discovery Channel, but more interesting IMHO.
  6. I started off shooting pistols more, because I end up at indoor ranges more often, and I do not have easy access to outdoor ranges where I can actually shoot longer distances/ larger calibers. I like both pistols and long guns though, and I am trying to get more proficient with the long guns by jumping into 3-gun competitions.
  7. I have not really done a lot of shooting outdoors in the winter, but this year I will go for the Under Armour stuff, hand warmers, hot chocolate, and fleece headband/fleece hat. I don't know though, I personally don't handle the cold very well.
  8. I like the crossbreed type shoes that are a mix between a hiking boot/trail shoe and running shoe. I didn't know cleats were illegal in IDPA. I wonder how they judge how aggressive a texture pattern is vs. what they define as a cleat.
  9. Still setting up my belt, but I think I am going to have to end up closing the inner belt in the back, and the outer belt in the front so that I can get the pouches around my back. I will be in production, and I am pretty small so I will have to squeeze 4 around there somehow .

I would love to get one of these, but I can't justify the price right now. Almost as much as another glock. Does anyone find that they are focusing more on the laser than the front sight, or is it more of a peripheral vision thing?
  11. I am looking at upgrading mag pouches that I had for IDPA for USPSA, and I am wondering two things: 1. Does anyone prefer the single over double pouch configuration? 2. Is there a limit on the type of pouch that can be used in production class? I am leaning towards the cr speed pouches, but I do not know if there are rules as to the cant or style of the pouch. I am interested to hear all opinions. Fire away.
  12. Curious, has anyone tried the ati stock yet? I just picked up the 712 today, and I would like to add a recoil pad, but I am a little small so I fear that it may make the LOP too long. The price is a little high on that ati stock, though. I am also worried about the prongs on the lifter; it seems like it wants to grab my thumb, but I may not be using the correct technique to load. Has anyone put a side saddle on yet? I am not sure which one will fit. I am ordering the nordic +4 extension, and the williams fire sights today.
  13. Thanks for all the advice guys.Right now all I have access to is the 870, but once I get into the sport a little more maybe I can get an m1 or m2, that would be ideal.
  14. So, I am looking for an entry shotgun suitable for 3-gun. I know that semi-auto tends to be more popular with the more established folks; however, I am a little concerned that my size and stature (I am a small female- 5'6",110 lbs. tops) will cause problems in cycling with the semi-autos. I was also trying to find something on a budget since I am new, and so I am kind of steering towards a 12 gauge pump, maybe an 870 or something. I guess I am wondering if any smaller folks out there have had issues or trouble with semi-auto shotguns, and/or anyone who has experience with pump in 3-gun or recommendations. Thanks!
  15. Hello all, I figured I should go ahead and introduce myself. I'm an NC transplant currently in Cincinnati, and I am trying to get more into the competitive world of shooting. I have mainly done idpa and some recreational type steel matches, but I am looking at potentially venturing into 3-gun and more uspsa. I look forward to learning more about the competitive scene, and seeing what everyone has to offer and share of their experiences.
