  1. Does anyone mount the sight on the handguard on a piece of rail? Or does everyone mount them on a 45 piece of rail off the upper?
  2. If anyone is still looking, the wheelybird is a nice thrower and they have been having rebates and some good sale prices. One of the local shops gave a free flat of shells a case of birds and a $30 rebate.
  3. Tri-State Region BIG Money Match Where: Miami Valley Shooting Grounds When: Aug 29-30 Cost: $30 Shooting activity type: Outlaw Steel See attachment for details.
  4. The CK Arms are really nice. And you are getting a true custom built gun that you can have customized anyway when they build it.
  5. Has anyone tried critical capabilities supermatch 16"? They say sub moa and nitride coated.
  6. My local range has a weekly steel match for fun but wants to have a Fun Shoot with cash payouts. They are still working out some of the details. So far the plan is 4 stages of 5 steel with 4 runs on each stage. The slowest time on each stage will be dropped. Their will be three divisions open, limited and production. The payout to shooters will be 70% of all entry fees. Their will also be one or two small side matches with payouts. The shoot is being planned for August 29, 2015 at Miami Valley Shooting Grounds in Vandalia, OH. I will be volintering at the match and have been searching for matches like this to get an idea of what to plan for but have not found much. Preregistration would be nice to have an idea of the number of shooters but with the format of the event I think it will be open to anyone who shows up throughout the day. Could we squad shooters and send them through every time we fill up a squad. so we could use a single score sheet for each person rather then each person having a seperate sheet at each stage like at GSSF matches. Any advice would be appreciated. It is short notice but what kind of turnout could we expect? Any thoughts on match fee? This will be decided by the range but if I had some imput from people on when known forum like this one, I may be able to show them what would be most appealing to shooters.
  7. Rustoleum is the way to go. We tried the no name value paint but it ran right off.
  8. Have you got a chance to shoot them? I was thinking about using the 6" x 6" x 3/4" for rifle at 50 yards.
  9. It is at a range with a lot of rules and they rent guns to new shooters so anyone can give 3 gun a try. Every thing has a round limit with no makeups allowed. I know it is not quite like real 3 gun but it allows us to have a local area to get some practice with our 3 gun equipment.
  10. I like them but it does depend on your hands and grip. I have heard guys complain about hitting them unintentionally and dropping a mag but I think they had not practiced with it enough.

    red dot

I just changed from the upright to a 90 degree mount and it is easier for me to transition from iron sight to open.
  12. With all the gear for two people it can make some of the strollers over loaded. I built one on what I thought was a really nice single stroller with the big wheels and it has shocks to make the ride smoother. It gets really hard to turn and the shocks are bottomed out when I put the ammo bags in it which causes the stroller to tilt a little back.
  13. I have done one with no sanding but normally when I under cut the trigger guard I go over the rest of the grip and smooth it out.
  14. Change it out as soon as you want. If you wait to long you might decide you like the gun and not want to start switching out the parts.
  15. I had to work out a load to get my sti to function with the normal mount. I ordered and installed a 90 mount and now I can cycle a wide range of loads and some that don't use the comp and would not function at all with the normal mount.
  16. I have been using a 6 but ordered a 4. I think it is going to be my go to size in the future.
  17. I never thought about doing this. Thank you for the advise. I'm going to order one.

    Ruger Red Label?

I liked to old Ruger Red labels but the new ones have had a few problems. Ruger's customer service has been really good but a lot of the guys that bought the new model have had to use it. If you don't like the Brownings then you should look at a Beretta you can normally get a used field grade gun for around $1000.
  19. If you get one of the SIRT pistols with the two different colors of laser the computer can track the movement of the gun before and after you pull the trigger.
  20. How is the brass ejecting that is functioning. I had this problem when my wife would shoot my first open glock. When I shot it the brass would eject a few feet to the right but when she shot it most of the brass would just clear the slide and every so often they would stove pipe. I increased the load and made sure the gun was clean when she wanted to shoot it. This helped when she shot it.
  21. I replaced two with gram followeres and they both lock back with 1 in the mag. I am going to trim them so they don't lock back.
  22. We started a small three gun match at our local gun range. I am one of the only two RO's that run the match. Because many of the shooters have never done any run and gun we limit the round count and all of the guns are staged with a set number of rounds loaded. I had people talking to me and asking questions about the next stage when I was loding my saiga mag. Last week when it was my turn; I staged my guns and when I ran the stage, I pulled the trigger on the last target and click. I racked the slide and click and looked at an emtipy chamber. I dumped the gun and moved to the pistol and finished the stage. I was the only shooter with a FTE on the stage. I will count more accuratly in the future.

    410

I'm shooting sporting clays not skeet. I'm shooting 1/2oz for my 410 and 1 1/8 loads for the 12 gauge. I can buy a flat of 12 gauge for 49.99 at a shoot, as for 410 I found flats for 89.99 last year. I'm loading more 410 and less 12 gauge because 12 gauge is not worth it. A bag of shot only gets me 355 12 gauge but I'm loading almost 800 410 shells.
