  1. I was about 6 feet away with the timer, that might cut .01, im not sure.
  2. NO I don't wanna see the ones that might happen in a match. I wantto see you do 3 individual splits back to back. Not a bill drill, 3 separate ones. I want to see on demand .10s that people claim they can do. I am seeing some very fast shooting and good shooting also if your getting your hits but what I'm not seeing is the on demand claims. SO, I remembered this thread recently during a conversation with a gunsmith. He mentioned someone pulling down sub .10s. Here is the problem, I did not come back and read the thread before I went off bugging my "betters". So, I said, sub .12 splits, on demand. There were several very good shooters around who all agreed that it was possible. One said that it was possible with a striker fired gun, you just had to be wearing the name KC to do it. So, just so we are straight, I told him that all I needed on video were sub .12s, I feel as though, it could have gotten faster. here we go.
  3. He took some heat at the match, after the match he emailed everyone? Asking for honest feedback. He cannot control the heat or weather, but steel, some RO issues, and a 3 hour award ceremony!!! - as a side note, still dont have my shirt.
  4. crimp to -.003 under bullet + (2 x case wall) thickness.
  5. And THAT is not a bad idea, what will 3 feet get me?
  6. over at snipers hide a while back, a dude made a feeder using one tube. removed a ceiling tile and ran that sucker up about 6-7 feet. couple of extra tubes with retaining pins, quite the cheap bullet feeder, if only i had 15 foot ceilings. My wife would never stand for it. I will eventually have a MR Bulletfeeder.
  7. I was at my local club this weekend, helping demo a USPSA stage. The next bay over was hosting the IDPA demo. I borrowed a vest and made it all the way to "make ready" concealed....... RO: "Thats not Legal! How many rounds do you have in that magazine?". Me: "18 -30, what is the limit?". Him: "18". Me: I have enough. Him: I guess you do, Standby" The RO was really cool about my ideas for a new division, the lady who had just shown me "how its done" was unable to hide her distaste for my way of shooting her stage. Most fun I have ever had at IDPA.
  8. Put a go gun *thumb rest [generic]* on your current limited setup, tinker box: check.
  9. I thought that this was the issue at around 8 gn longshot under a 115. Made 155pf. thought that I had lost my mind. So, I crammed more powder in the case and went for a super/comp load weight. 9/9.5/10 gn, out of pure frustration. Guess what 10 gn of longshot looks like in a 9mm case. One word description: FULL. Working between 8-10 gn, velocities rose, piqued, then dropped. Primers all look ok, no flow. I might have a bad batch of powder, or a bad box of bullets... trying to work out which one now.
  10. A: to much money in a conversion. if you want to go open with a para, get the new 9mm. cone comp, slide lightening, trigger job, extractor/ejector tune, magwell, mount/optic. B: check out the link. use SV tubes (TT runs them, nuff said) http://shop.canyoncreekcustom.com/product.sc?productId=96&categoryId=12
  11. Mag might be riding to high. Check release shelf height.
  12. Mag blue printing, use the search function in open guns forum. Honestly, I think it is DIY. I have done 8 so far without issue.
  13. You should buy some DVDs and books. That way you can identify the THINGYS that you intend to mess with. You need the right tools, we all started somewhere like you are. Put down the dremel, get your credit out, pull out the brownells catalogs, and spend some of that shooting money.
  14. You paid for SV. You get factory support, call the shop. Sounds like you might be messing with sucess, is the gun broken in? You are correct, most LIM/OPEN shooters do not want the gun to lock back.
  15. I am currently living in AL, PV sells stuff to me, and ships here. Most of the shooters I know here use PV, don't we all?
  16. If you are going to send it to someone, call them and order what they want to use. Better yet, send them the money, they get the parts at cost, increase their profit margin, make your $$ do the work. FYI, for the cost of a gunsmith trigger job you could get all of the tools/jigs you would need to create similar results on your own, depending on skill level.
  17. NICE! I spoke with bobby about this gun, Have you shot any major ammo through it?
  18. Do all of us a solid and post more pictures. A build list would be great also.
  19. does not require a mill, or much pressure. Dremel and 5 minutes. Mark it, take a little bit off and test. repeat until desired resistance is reached. As a side benefit. approaching it from the side (see picture) helps guide the slide stop into place.
  20. Dremel tungsten carbide cutter slotted like so: Edit to add: Sharpie is your friend, start high and work down.
  21. the guy had 3 topends made, thought it would be the last SV he would ever own. Open 9mm, Limited sight tracker 40, L-10 sight tracker .45 acp. Cant imagine the tab on that build, thought the custom engraved ones were probably pricey..... think he won the $$ challenge.

No worries. I have a few of the regular "legal" pads. I will swap you, if you would like.
  23. how far forward does the ball cut go? hrmmmmmmm. I cant tell if the entire slide is thinner, Or if it is a blended relief, Or if it is just the oversized cocking serration's that make it look a little thin at the back.
  24. Spoke with Brandon last week about new tubes, same issue with fit. I ordered 3 tubes, 2 fit and 1 was to big. After some work with no success, I got the measurements for "in spec" new signature tubes. Mine was out of spec, sent it back to the factory for some TLC, 1 day turnaround. New SVI tubes (Signature) were re-designed AGAIN a while back, but still require same frame mod. These are Max measurements, most measurements should be less than these listed. Front to back: 1.380 Width: .950 email excerpt: As we discussed I do not look to go above the magazine release window when squeezing. I would just look to keep the magazine body around 1.370-1.375in measurement for more recent polymer grips. Sti changed the polymer material used in the mold many years ago and as a result the polymer had more shrinkage during the cooling process. Going below a 1.37 may cave in the weld. The tube can take additional material removal of up to .005in on the OD of tube without compromising the strength but be cautious not to create a thin cross section. ............... We have the magazine tube in route back to you today. The magazine is below 1.38in in diameter front to back the entire length.
  25. Dont squeeze the new SVI mags! Take the material out of the frame to get these bodies to fit in STI frames. New SVI tubes will get 30 easy, with SVI aluminum follower and 13 coil springs, dont mess with sucess. Sharpie is your friend, dremel with care. Frame ledge needs to be relieved. Some STI grips have to be relieved slightly to achieve best fit for mags. I can post pics later if anyone needs a visual aid.
