  1. People worried about a foot race, watch some old videos and people are jumping over barriers and s***. I think that's how TGO hurt his knee once, maybe why we don't have a lot of barriers to jump over anymore. Things people b**** about: Low ports High ports Obstacles Cooper tunnels Running Tight shots Hosing
  2. No Can't please everybody for sure As far as changing the power factor, you have to figure out what your end goals are. In the past when I thought it might be a good idea to go all minor my end goal was upping participation in Iron sight divisions. They upped the capacity in production with no real bump in participation. I don't think going to minor in limited is going to change participation there now. So what would the actual goal of changing power factor in your opinion? Because I don't think increasing participation is a realistic goal, and I used to be hopeful that it was
  3. Zzt you are in error on the trijicon. 5 Years on electronics I don't own a Leopold dot so no comment there
  4. Every forum or group is an echo chamber, but we do tend to echo this one a lot LOL At one point I would have been for doing away with major, even though I like major. But, I look at production 15 as a litmus test and since it moved the needle basically none I don't see any reason now to change the limited or anything else. If production 15 really took off, then I could have seen a good reason to do away with major all together but, it appears power factor is not a deciding factor in people shooting ironsight divisions. It's the iron sights, or at least that is what it seems to be
  5. I don't think messing with where they're at now makes much sense. Unless you were going to raise major back to 175 like it ought to be but, that's not going to happen Adjusting minor down is just going to make steel more of a pain in the ass to deal with and adjusting minor up is just going to make factory ammo and 4-in guns sometimes not make minor. We've discussed that before a lot of guns with factory 115s end up 127 now
  6. I've gone back and forth on this a couple of times, but now I'm to the point of leave things alone. If production 15 would have shown a big bump in numbers, I might have been for a limited going to minor only. But, since highish cap minor in production didn't seem to move the needle any, no sense jacking with it now. As it is, single stack is the only division or Major versus minor is even a real thing, everything else there is a definitive answer as to what you should be shooting. But, it appears in reality people want to shoot dot guns and minor ammo mostly, and we already have that so changing other things is probably not going to affect anybody anyway. Like I said, if I really felt that going minor only would move the needle in limited I would probably be for it, but I don't think that's going to be the case
  7. I'm telling all y'all 10 round diehard guys that single stack is where it's at. I watched a couple of videos of production 15 and it looks way less interesting than I thought it would. When they announced production 15 I got interested in it for just a little bit, but after looking at production guns and a couple of videos guys shooting production 15, I just went ahead and bought me a single stack minor gun. I still have the major gun too, but I hate hunting for 45 brass LOL. So the good news is anybody who hates production 15 now, just come play in single stack and we'll get those numbers up maybe. And you get to shoot a real gun And if you just wanting to dabble and have fun at it and not spend a bunch of money, I think I've got under $600 in a 1911, 6 10 round mags, and a magwell. So it doesn't have to be very expensive. I was hoping to shoot it this weekend at a match, but we got rained out so I've only practiced with it a little bit, but it's been reliable so far
  8. I have been wondering about the fastfire 4s. There doesn't seem to be a tremendous amount of information out there about them. I know you said that you wish the window was taller, but I would love to see a side by side picture with that and your vortex venom if you still have it. Since I have a venom I would be able to get a really good idea about the window size. All the Burris optics I've had in the past have worked well whether they were red dots or scopes. So I'm pretty interested in that fastfire four for the future.
  9. One of the reasons I still use some sort of vortex a lot is the warranty, while their sight is not as good as my sro, i ain't a pro shooter and if my dot goes down in the middle of a match it is a much smaller loss than than cost of more expensive optics with shorter warranties. As for future dot purchases it will probably be vortex or Burris for me, solely because of warranty. Another SRO probably won't happen because of cost so hopefully the one I have last a long time While I have never had a vortex or Burris die on me yet, I do leave the back up irons on my gun for a reason LOL
  10. This is too much running! This is too much stand and shoot! This is too much hose fest! This is too much tight shots!
  11. Over the years of buying and selling guns, I found that anytime something cost more than about 500 bucks you greatly reduce the amount of people that are interested in whatever you're selling. Or they might want to buy it but they don't have the money. I've had pistols in very good condition that when new would cost close to two grand and you try to get a thousand for them and it takes forever. But cheap s*** sells pretty easy LOL
  12. Yeah, your little south and east of me. I usually shoot coleman, albany, occasionally double tap or San Angelo. Three gun at Abilene and sometimes Breckenridge
  13. Where in Central Texas do you shoot? We may know each other
  14. Throw out a club that brings in more money to the range than anything else over a cop getting to not follow the rules, that doesn't make a lot of sense. In fact it seems like you're supporting blackmail
  15. I know right, try to enforce rules in your automatically a cop hater LOL
  16. Sorry, no. If you are shooting USPSA you follow the rules, if you can't do that find some other match.
  17. In my initial response to this thread, I said I would have unloaded the guy whether he was a cop or just some random Joe with his carry gun and we would have all shot and been happy, or something pretty close to that So as far as I'm concerned I would do the same whether it was a cop or not
  18. Not to mention 10.5.13, 5.2.1, 2.5.2,
  19. You're right, we were having a nice conversation about the rules and I simply said that I would enforce them at any match I ran. One feller seem to take that as an attack on the police by asking if I didn't like police, and you apparently took that as an attitude problem, since you said the attitude of enforcing the rules was a reason that LEO wouldn't go to a match. I'm not exactly sure why you would think enforcing the rules would be an issue So basically I'm not sure why y'all have an issue with enforcing the rules equally to everyone. But by me stating I would enforce the rules equally to everyone, I was questioned on whether or not I like the police, and you said that attitude would keep people from the coming to a match. In fairness, if the attitude of enforcing the rules keeps people from coming to matches, I don't really want them there anyway
  20. Can also do a trigger job on the factory components. Mine is reliable and right at 3 lb with the factory stuff
  21. Careful with that attitude, you will hurt that popo's feelings and he won't show up to the match
  22. It's been my experience that many popo try the sport, either point their guns up range and don't come back or get beat by a kid and don't come back. Since cold range is a big safety rule that EVERYONE is supposed to follow, I'll ask you too, are you going to let them break 180 too?
  23. You going to let them break 180 too?
  24. I just looked at ballistics by the inch and out of a 4-in gun that's not real far off.
