  1. So, I assume under a load mean with the tool head down? Sorry to be anal about this, but it's part of my job.
  2. Anyone found a B.A.D magpul or Phase 5 type bolt assist lever for the MPX yet?
  3. Geissele is supposed to be coming out with one for the MPX soon. I have an SSA in mine, about 3k rounds no prob. As soon as they come out with an MPX specific trigger I will be ordering one. Cant help withe others, but I have seen a lot of Hyperfire triggers being used in the MPX.
  4. The manual says to tighten the nut on the rod end until slight spring pressure. But Ive seen vids where its recommended that a business card just fits between the spring windings. This means the spring is almost collapsed. Can you clarify? Tks
  5. That is why I went with a 1050 with an Ammobot . I had been shooting SS and loading only 45ACP. Then got the PCC bug, then the CO bug, so a 1050/AB for my 9mm and the LNL for the 45ACP. This winter I will be converting over all to the 1050/AB.
  6. If I could find one for an MPX, I would.
  7. My new 1050 (set up in December) hits there every time, and has done it since day one. I had assumed it was normal, but it certainly can be a little disconcerning. Interested in hearing from others as well.
  8. I have the Springer mount on mine, and it was a nice interference fit. Has held fine so far. As Rowdy suggested, peening bottom of dovetail will increase the interference fit. For loose dovetail sights, I have taken a punch and made a couple of dimples in the middle of the bottom of the dovetail. This will increase the interference fit. If it slides in about 1/3 of the way by hand, but needs to be driven in the rest, it should be good. And use lots of blue loctite.
  9. The 6" black nipple pipe works well too. << Linky >>
  10. This. Plus E3, probably near the top.
  11. W231 is easily one of the most consistently dropping powders out there. I have used it for years in my LNL, and it always drops consistently. Do you have a baffle in your powder hopper? Maybe it is bridging, but I have never known W231 to bridge. I'm not familar with the Lyman stuff, but something has to be loose or wrong causing the inconsistent throws. Hopefully Lyman can get it fixed.
  12. I think I've narrowed this down. It looks like with any mag but 16 rnd CZs, the mag tends to over-insert. With the CZ 18 round mags and CZ short base pads, it will really whack the ejector. The basepad on the 16rnd CZ mags prevent over-insertion. However the CZ 18 rnd mags with stock basepads has a larger gap that still allows a bit of over-insertion. I really need to get this resolved before I try and use it in a match, as I tend to slam mags home a little forcefully. I have to hope the mag catch is the suspect here. I will call CZC and see what they say.
  13. Apparently no one has. More info that might shed some light on the cause. A bud of mine and I were looking at the issue and noticed that when this happens the mag is bumping against the ejector. There is a small shiny spot on the ejector as a result. The same mags work fine on my SA 75 Target. So the cause appears to be the mag release. Will order a new one and if that fixes it.
  14. With my MPX, I have a mag carrier near the center front of the belt. When I reload, I do the "beer can" hold. So far this has worked well for me.
  15. Setting my Phantom up for CO, and noticed when inserting a mag it feels like it goes a little beyond the catch when I insert them with the amount of force I typically use, then drops back to where it is supposed to be. The mag release spring setup on the Phantom uses a spring and plunger setup. It almost feels like the plunger spring might be a little weak. This was with a brand new CZ 18 rnd mag, with the CZC short basepad and stock spring. I have other mags and will try them tonight. Anyone else run into this?
  16. I got mine from Title II Arms. It has been rock solid for almost a year now.
  17. My post is not the reason, the reason is they got a bad batch of springs and pulled them so no one else would get one. Like I did. You are welcome. I expect they will have them avail soon.
  18. Got the replacement spring, and it is about 2" longer. Cycling rounds st the bench it seems to work well. I did notice that it seemed to loch the bolt back better if the spring was pointing to the rear. Makes sense as the follower rear is what catches the bolt release. Still seems a little odd. Will have to test at range both ways.
  19. I have an older Aimpoint T1, which I believe is a 2MOA, and it works quite well for these old eyes. If I feel like I need a bigger dot, I turn the brightness up a tad.
  20. Latest response from Springer: Hopefully the replacement they send will be a good one. Awesome customer service.
  21. I just got an email from Springer, and they were very apologetic and were going to send a replacement. Moments laterI got another email from them: I will post back what they find. I did notice the wire diameter of the Springer spring was smaller than the OEM spring, but that may not mean much.
  22. I just tried Springer's "PCC 9mm Extra Power Magazine Spring" with their base pad, and it just does not work. Spring and basepad with just 10 rounds loaded, rounds jam nose up, and bolt does not lock back on empty - this alone tells me the spring is too weak. I tried loading the mag with different number of rounds, results same. I sent a note to Springer about this. Anyone else have similar issue? The stock spring runs fine with the Springer base pad (+10), but sometimes gets a little weak and doesnt lock the bolt back on empty.

    FM Cases?

Another vote for this. Great insurance, and cheap too.
  24. It looks like the jacketed bullets have a cannelure that the brass is being roll crimped into, but the Black bullets do not. So when you are trying to put that much of a roll crimp on, and there is no cannelure for the case shoulder to go into, so something has to give, which is the case wall. Try backing off the roll crimp on the Black bullets. Side note, arent the Black bullets you're using coated? If you roll crimp them you will be cutting through the coating, and probably result in a lot of leading in your barrel.
