Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. You are correct. It IS manufactured in France by Nobel Sport. I use 8.2 Grains of SP2 with a thickly plated South African 124gr Frontier bullet in my Open Glock. In the Official Vectan Charge tables there is a 147gr FMJ load. It is 6.5 grains of SP2. It makes 1198 fps according to them. That is a major calibre load for I.P.S.C within normal 9mm Luger pressures, albeit right at the top. It is an excellent powder for 9mm major.
  2. Try IGB Austria. They do a Glock mount similar to the SJC. It mounts on the front rail and has an extended pin through the trigger at the rear. They will send one to Estonia no problem. I have one and have had no problems with it. http://www.igbaustria.com/ Have a look. This mount looks just awful! I spent a lot of time and made my drawings, mounting similar to SJC. Soon I will get the first sample which to me make on a CNC machine. Now I have almost all the parts for the open Glock. And a very nice titanium compensator. It remains to obtain only mount... I agree the IGB mount does not look pretty, neither do Glocks. However they WORK superbly just like Glocks !
  3. I recently ordered five magazine extensions by Pearce Grips for my Glock 21. Ordered over the internet and I found them very efficient. They arrived here in SPAIN in less than two weeks, no problems at all. I am quite impressed.
  4. Try IGB Austria. They do a Glock mount similar to the SJC. It mounts on the front rail and has an extended pin through the trigger at the rear. They will send one to Estonia no problem. I have one and have had no problems with it. http://www.igbaustria.com/ Have a look.
  5. There is a 147 grain load that is published in the VECTAN tables. It is 6.4 grains of SP2 with a Speer 147 TMJ. It comes out at 36250 PSI. It factors at 176. Also listed are loads with 88 grain and 115 grain bullets that top out at 36200 PSI. Top end of the pressure scale for sure, but within normal parameters so no problem. Having said that I am always very wary of using brass that has been reloaded multiple times. Glad to hear you are OK with all digits intact though !
  6. Ok Malc I will qualify that.....................what I meant was I ALWAYS beat SOMEBODY with a 2011 type pistol every time out. Mr S*I Grand Master from Cordoba with his SIX GRAND gun as a prime example !
  7. I have two Open Glock 17's and I beat guys with 2011 style guns every time out........................ Go for it and ENJOY !
  8. I have an Israeli Fab defence USM mount with a Burris Fastfire sight on one of my Open Glock 17's. It mounts on the weaver rail on the frame only. At first I was a bit concerned expecting accuracy problems because the plastic Glock frame does flex slightly. In use it has absolutely no accuracy problems whatsoever. It will shoot "snake eyes" point of aim all day long. Ejection is perfect with major and minor ammo. The only thing it needed doing to it was the Weaver rail it comes with on the bottom needed milling off. Simple to fit with no modifications to the gun.
  9. If your extractor works, then it isn't broke so don't "fix" it...............so NO. However two friends of mine both with STI 9mm's, one a Steelmaster and the other an Edge. Two of the most expensive "jammatics" I have ever seen. Two Aftec's later problems solved !..............So YES. One of them also has an STI Edge .45acp. It works flawlessly out of the box................so NO.
  10. Nice group........................decisions....................decisions
  11. Thanks for the input gents. I can get SPS adjustable rear with a fibre optic frontsight. These are BoMar style so I'll probably go with those.
  12. Mumzer Yeah, thats what I'm trying to find out. I suspected that they may be a bit marginal accuracy wise on long range poppers and the like.
  13. I have a Norinco NP28 9mm double stack. It has a 3lb trigger and is EXTREMELY accurate and reliable. I was thinking of shooting it in IPSC STANDARD division next year. The problem is the stock sights are just that, bog standard 1911, very small. With my 54 year old eyes these sights are of no use for anything other than slow fire. Has anybody tried the XS sights for IPSC use. Either big dot or standard dot ?
