The dealer in Canada doing a preorder for Shadow 2 is saying they will be out in June for $1500-$1600CDN.

I live on Canada where ten round mags are our legal limit. Can't say I like the government telling me how many rounds I can have in my gun is cool but we sure can do mag changes. Just think of Production as "The mag change division".

Stage Strategy/Plan Mooching vs Independence
smiley1 replied to CHA-LEE's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
I usually try to come early and check out the stages that may take some thinking. I usually come up with my own plan but I will borrow a plan if I need to. I have more problems with mooches asking what my plan is when I'm still trying to deside myself. I think they think I'm trying to hide some secret from them...and I'm not. -
What competition belt do you use and why?
smiley1 replied to GrumpyOne's topic in Gear & Accessories
I'm weird....I use a Safariland Sam Brown belt that is 2 1/2" with a suede lining for several years now. Bladetec DOH holster and Ghost pouches because they fit. I'm a lady and need to wear my belt low on my big hips. I like my belt real tight and I can really cinch this up like doing up a saddle on a horse! lol. I get odd looks for wearing a PPC belt in IPSC but I have no plans on changing it anytime soon. It's not a belt I usually recommend to most people who can wear a belt normally. -

I live in the rain forest and it often rains for our matches. I don't mind shooting in the rain, a lot of people wimp out and it's easier to kick their butts! -
Why can't CZ do a run of these with the pre-b disco already installed! !

My forearms are full of scar tissue, my tendons in my hands have lumps on them and I also have chronic tennis elbow for over 15 years. I went to the gym, rode horses and used a grinder all day at work, among other things. I learned the hard way about over-training and over-use. I'm not really supposed to shoot I try not to shoot two days in a row, if I don't have to.

I use the normal sideways Ghost 360 pouches because I prefer to run a wide Sam Brown belt for my lady hips and not many others seem to fit. I find the belt clips excessively wide and I don't like the short white adjustment screws that seem a little to small for a Shadow mag. I also think the white screws tangle with the mag and don't allow the mag to slip in as smoothly as I'd like. The springs worked for three years before the first one broke...keep extra springs and screws in your range bag! I have put my pouches through many IPSC, 3-gun and tactical shooting courses and much to my surprise, many crash landings later with my big hips has never broken one but they are getting pretty chewed up looking. The big honking clips do stay nice and still on my Sam Brown belt, so I will give them that. I would give Ghost 360 a 7/10

I have a bad case of trigger finger in both hands from many years of polishing cars and using grinders daily. It's better the less I do My fingers start off stiff in the morning if I'm doing to much and if I keep pushing it, they lock and move like some kind of robot! I am definitely supposed to stay away from guns!!...That ain't going to happen. I've had this problem for about twelve years now and I'd like to think it's getting better, but it hasn't so far. It keeps me from shooting/dryfiring, working and exercising as much as I'd like, especially with chronic tennis elbow in both arms as well. I'm not very trusting of letting someone hack away on my hands and arms??? I just grin and bare it and think about "Nubs" shooting with no hands and think I'm pretty lucky.

Don't know how to start training- HELP
smiley1 replied to theunloader's topic in Mental Conditioning
Your life won't ALWAYS be school. The hard work you put in today, will pave the way for you to have a good life in the future. Be patient and look long term at what you really want. Sometimes you have to take a step back in order to move forward, just like in IPSC. Picture how you want your life in five years and you'll quickly realize your on the right path! Enjoy the process....- 16 replies

I like aggressive grips, grip tape for the flooring section at the hardware store (Thanks for that idea BeerBaron, I've used it 2 years now), I'm also using a rosin bag if it's hot or raining.

If you want that set up, get the ones with ears that hold the mag at the right angle. The big disadvantage with magnets is if you have to go prone and the mags get pressured one way you could lose one as you get up. I have a round magnet on the front of my first pouch (Production, only used for pickups) and back of my belt (holds the first mag I load). I like the round magnets for pickup stages because I can "pair" my mags on pickup and get two at a time. The magnets with ears can't do that! So...I like a combination of both worlds

My first Shadow was bad for this. Before a match I'd clean the mag well really good with brake clean and spray my mags down with dry silicon lubricant and wipe with a paper towel. They always fell out like greased lightening after that. The mag flip takes time so I'd rather avoid it.

I find my feed ramp gets hard to clean when I go more than about 500 rounds. I use automotive brake clean and a tooth brush to clean. Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil for general lube each cleaning and Mobil 1 axle grease on my mainspring a couple times a year to keep my double action smooth. I see people at almost every match who's gun fails because of the lack of a proper cleaning and lubrication. I don't really like cleaning my guns but it is a good time to inspect them. My guns rarely have a hiccup
