  1. Tough decision downlow411... My Family has had just about every big vehicle you can imagine that fits in a residential neighborhood (No RV's) and I'd have to tell ya that the Excursion with a 7.3 is the way to go if you plan to pull a trailer and want to haul folks and gear in the cab. My Dad had a Suburban with the 6.3 in it for years, got decent mileage but that little diesel wouldn't tow to save it's life. He traded it for a used Expo with the 7.3 and can't believe he didn't do it sooner. My Wife drives it's little brother, the Expedition XLT EL with a 5.4 and all the crazy things Wives and Kids need to be comfortable and I have to say I'd take it anyday over a Suburban. We drove them all trying to find the perfect family hauler. I haul a race car trailer behind it and a 3200 pound car but wouldn't want to do it all the time - 16 MPG highway best towing. 20 highway at 72MPH filled up no trailer. Go with a 2007 or newer for that 6-Speed trans if you consider a Expedition. Good luck!
  2. Folks, the matches are on for this weekend, November 21st (Pistol) and November 22nd (3-Gun) @ WVRPC near Lafayette Indiana. Shooter's meeting at 9:45 AM, Action begins at 10. Rounds required will be 60 rifle, 40 handgun and 60 shotgun with 6 slugs. Bring a shooting mat to use it to go prone out past 100 yards... I'll try to post stages if I get time. And we'll have a USPSA handgun match on Saturday November 21st (FYI)
  3. Sure hope we get to shoot 4 stages Friday, 4 Saturday and only 1 Sunday so we can begin the drive home at a decent hour Any shooting schedule is great though - I just wanted to throw my $.02 in.
  4. Check out www.USAAMMO.com for decent pricing and good quality ammo. They have a remanufactured 55 gr. Remingtong bullet load that shoots really well and it's priced good for 50 round packs.
  5. Jesse, you might be better off sending those Benny's to me (or I'll pick em up at the HPSC). Sounds like you don't have very good luck. I hear some of those guys that shoot in OK have over 100k rounds on their Benny's... Maybe your new ones are just worn out
  6. Not certain if I used a washer or not... I don't think so. Mine's got the plastic insert in the ruber pad. Are you actually gonna make it out to shoot this weekend???
  7. Funny, I had the exact same problem... Ended up going to the hardware store and buying an allen head bolt that did the trick. My shooting partner ended up not putting the pad on at all
  8. I buy from www.usaammo.com, they have great prices on 55 gr. ammo. I use their Hornady V-Max 55 gr. loads out to 300 yards. And anything over that I load my own Sierra MK 69 gr.

  10. Interesting thread... I just got my new single stack almost finished and it's very similar to yours Josh, except that the frame started as a STI Master frame with the square trigger gaurd. It's almost exactly the same as yours, Ed Brown safeties and SVI trigger parts but I've got the Techwell system on it and weighs in at 39.6 ounces... And I did cut the frame back to the standard length. Edited after weighing, I was curious. Weighed on 4 different scales and 39.6 was heaviest. The mags all weighed 2.4 ounces and change. Guess I'm close as well... Time to put it on a diet
  11. Heck, throw an all pistol stage in just for fun... Or all rifle... El Prez with rifle would be cool and EASY to setup
  12. Is it possible to shoot it in 1 day??? I'd love to come but am out of vacation time and can't leave until Friday night... I think it's only 9 hours away though
  13. Greg Copeland in Arkansas Citry Kansas has built me some fine looking pistols that never cause me any problems. They run amazingly well... Almost too well if that's possible
  14. It was a great match but I have to ask, where did stage 8 go??? It's odd for a stage to get tossed and no mention of it at any time Somebody think it was too difficult or something?? It sure seemed straight forward to our squad...
  15. I'd love to see the match at PASA again but only becuase it's close to me in Indiana
  16. What a fun match! Thanks MI3Gun for putting it on... I know it was a lot of work to set up and work but the range staff did a great job and the food was excellent! See ya next year...
  17. I think 9 stages will be great! Might give folks a little time to tour the Ozarks... And then next year we can do 9 stages in 2 Days hehe

  20. I grew up in Wichita and had an opportunity to live in Olathe (Kansas City) for about 3 years and I have to tell you that the USPSA crowd was wonderful in that area. Every Friday night, USPSA at the Bullet Stop in Wichita USPSA in August just outside Wichita every Month - Loads of fun USPSA matches @ OKC gun club every Month (2.5 hours away) USPSA matches in Topeka every Month (2 hours away) USPSA @ Mill Creek every Month in Olathe (about 3 hours away) You can shoot most every weekend if you can get away with it Good luck on the job seeking. PM me if you have any questions about the area...
  21. Manny can hook you up with custom cut grip tape to fit many models... It's listed on www.mannyusa.com under pistol accessories. PM sent
