  1. Blew this out of the water in a hurry! And you and this thread proved something quickly too, although it's been proven time and time again without fail. If someone has an opinion, idea, view point, gripe, or any other synonym that would generally lead to an open discussion, they must either be bitter, jealous, suck, lazy or all the above.Just personally find it odd that 2 boxes of factory ammo, both that have been tested to produce satisfactory pf, and with one you're good to go regardless and the other you may be sol. Just depending on what name was on the box. To go even one, "what if", step further. You could have AA produce a large lot of ammo in preparation for Nationals. They take it to the match and supply the match with official match ammo. Having extra, they sell the rest at they're booth/table. Now, if their load was off (and it's happened before) the people whom bought the same lot of ammo through the program are fine. But the people who bought it at the table, aren't. Same ammo, only difference is price and a sheet of paper You must be a liberal, sitting around, dreaming up ways people might be treated unfairly. It's not my fault you weren't intelligent enough to realize all the wonderful things that Ralph Nader would have done for this country.
  2. You'd think so, but than again USPSA just published a 2 page article on the subject

  4. Blew this out of the water in a hurry! Sorry, double tap
  5. That's just because we need more help.
  6. No, it's not about a need to "fix" production. There's griping and whining going on regarding some aspect of all the divisions. Some people just seem to need to complain. Most of us would rather spend more of our time practicing and competing than complaining. We're all aware of the rules and can discuss them, as needed, with the match officials if something comes up. There's no "hypocracy" here - that's just an insult to the sport and all of those who participate in it honestly and with sportsmanship. Id rather just complain....It's easier, plus who wants to practice?
  7. The chrono man is there to keep folks honest. If everyone was always good about making sure their ammo and guns were legit we would never even need a chrono man so lets not pretend everyone in our game is always honest. Can you still fool him? Maybe, but at that point you are into double douchebaggery territory and I'd hope there are a bit fewer of those folks around. But they are around, no doubt. The point of match ammo is to make sure you can have SOME ammo at matches that involve travel and odd shipping requirements. Its not as if you are going to somehow cheat on the match ammo. What is the fear here, that somehow you'll sneak into the factory and modify a batch? Even if the match ammo is sub-minor in your gun, odds are you won't have an advantage over anyone else shooting the same ammo (cause same ammo) or shooting their own ammo making powerfactor as the match ammo is likely to feel odd to you anyway. So it is ok to go sub minor with certain "factory" ammo but not with others. It's starting to make sense now. Sorry for the confusion.Oh and fyi, the chrono man has nothing to do with keeping people honest. His job is to pull the trigger and document the numbers. The only way he even knows those are your bullets, is because the paper in the baggy. The only person you have to fool, is yourself. Because if you're low enough to cheat, than you'll probably get away with it unfortunately.
  8. Copy that. So rules are just for big matches. On a serious note though. If they never get chronoed at local matches and are under the impression they're within rules/pf, than the first time they would get chronoed would be at a bigger match. It's a mistake they'd only make once, but still
  9. So if you shoot below pf with Match Ammo, it's okay because it's not suppose to and it's stated/printed to make pf. But if you do it with factory ammo, it doesn't matter what it states/printed.
  10. How does he know I dont have 8 rounds predeterminedly picked out for chrono, that are loaded differently than the stuff I shoot at the match? If integrity is being brought into the discussion, than the mods may as well lock this thread now, because cheating at chrono is absolutely EASY if that's the type of person you are.
  11. Just got done reading "The Chronoman Report" in this issue of Front Sight. For you that haven't read it, a quick synopsis is to not trust data printed for factory ammo because every gun is different, even for the same make, model and manufacture. And that everyone should have a bullet puller, scale and chrono, and they should use them (to check pf) regularly. Two examples are used. The first is the husband and wife team that are using two of the exact same guns, shooting the same factory ammo. One makes pf, one doesn't. The other, is the shooter who doesn't make pf with his 4" gun with Winchester white box, despite the data stating he should, because assumably the data was done with a longer barrel. Here's where's my perceived hypocrisy pops up. Whenever a suggestion, idea or rumor is heard about changing/modifying production, USPSA gives relatively the same exact cut and paste response; "That wasn't the intent of production. Production is so shooters can show up with their stock guns and compete". Now the advice given by Greg in the article is 100% accurate under the current rules. But is that an issue? If that IS the intent of production, should someone be able to shoot Winchester white box and federal american eagle etc (probably the two most popular/available plinking ammo) since the data states it makes pf? If that ammo was apart of the "Match Ammo" program, wouldn't he be good to go than? Just seems odd, that on one hand you tell shooters (especially new shooters) come out and shoot production, you can bring your stock pistol and compete. But on the other hand, you tell him, unless you want to gamble, you need to chrono your ammo and there's a possibility if you want to shoot that stock gun, you'll need to shoot ammo X (which is more expensive) or go out and buy a press and start reloading. Obviously you probably have to draw the line someone, but personally I think you have an issue if a stock standard size (4-4.5") pistol that's on the production approved list can't make pf with standard factory ammo. Especially when we're told, this is what the division was made for. Footnote: I'm a limited shooter that reloads, so no bitterness here, just my observation.
  12. No, no.....he's pointing guys towards the a5The GAME CHANGER!!!! Yep. Mag tube and go! No bolt release button, charging handle, match saver or welded lifter...hell don't even need ammo. Just show up with one and you're good.
  13. No, no.....he's pointing guys towards the a5
  14. that's a disadvantage, it slows down your draw and transitions. Well there's some reason, people are selling their Glocks and going to CZ's. people are sheep. wait a couple years, they'll sell their cz's and buy glocks and p320's for better transitions. It's amazing to wonder how good eric, ben and jj could actually be if they shot guns that didn't handicap their transitions so much. There's a reason the top production shooters predominantly shoot the steel frame da/sa, there's a reason the top glock shooter in the country (4th at nationals) just switched over to a tanfoglio, there's a reason vogel started added a bunch of wait to his glock (even when he shot minor at the pro am), there's a reason nils went from a sdc to a ldc and the reason isn't because they're sheep
  15. that's a disadvantage, it slows down your draw and transitions. Yep. And that's why all those guys running those heavy open guns with the comps hanging off the end, optics with mount and a 170mm mag loaded with ammo, have those slow draws and horrible transitions.
  16. You can see where this can be cause for concern. This is why I addressed it. Thank you for addressing it. Much better than referring to shooters that leave as "scooters" and saying in no uncertain terms, that yes score sheets may get purposely loss, but it's not the MD that's doing it (like that makes it acceptable). Just remember, there was another rumor that started not to long ago, that had some people getting very defensive, saying "he's not doing that", "Ive known him for years....." etc and that scandal turned out to be 100% true. So it's understandable to have questions/concerns with Nimitz comments, which I think we're all in agreement now were a trolling.
  17. WTH??? Where do you get that there is tacit approval throughout the membership? Did you skip reading comprehension at your school? You didn't answer the question. What club is this? Some place you will likely never shoot, Port Malabar Rifle and Pistol Club, Palm Bay, Fl. Now that you have the information, what are you going to do with it? Jump to more bad conclusions? Keep getting defensive.....it really proves your point.

  20. Yeah it took me a whole 10 seconds to hit "ctrl f". It's okay, I know your old and this typewriter with the connected television screen is a confusing and mysterious creature.
  21. You sure love using the term "game changer" don't you. You do realize you're the only one in this thread that's used it, and you're already into the double digits and counting. But I'll let you get back to telling everyone how awesome you.
  22. You know what else isn't in the rule book, the definition of rear pocket.Ya bec it should not be defined and should be taken at face value. When you say latrine or mess hall in the army manual do you have to look for its definition?Sent from my Xiaomi Mi3 Well the RO's, Vinny, IPSC, and USPSA (in production and ss) have said via their ruling/s that rear pocket means a pocket rear of the hip line. So unless you can provide documentation otherwise, your horse is dead and has already been sent to the glue factory. But go ahead and keep talking and prove Mark Twain right "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."
