  1. Congrats to Mr. Vogel. Anyone know if he shot 9mm or .40??
  2. Greg shot through yesterday evening.....He was not having a good match at all. I shot with him last year when he put 11 in the mag for an unloaded gun start and found himself shooting in limited! I thought you went to open if you don't meet division requirements. Has this changed in the recent rule book?
  3. Great info, thanks. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to access Sharyn's links.
  4. With all the new technology, it seems we are lacking a good old fashion nationals discussion thread. You know, text, stories, and even an occasional pic or two. With Blogs, You Tube, and Streaming video now available (all which I can't access from work), anyone got any info / stories / antedotes they want to share "the old fashion way"? TIA.
  5. Thank you! And happy birthday fellow May 23'rs.
  6. Per the IDPA rule book: Since this match has "nationals" status, I wonder if this rule will apply?
  7. Can You let us know what their answer is? I just picked up a stock G22 barrel for my G22C. Thanks.
  8. My guess is Sevigny and Langdon did a tac load before going down. Remember, they are CDP and only have 9 rounds in the gun for a 10 round course of fire. I can confirm that this is how Dave Olhasso shot it.
  9. I'm kinda glad the holster thing came up again. I think the new holster rules have an unintended flaw in them, and that is "seeing light through the holster". The problem with this is that some of the lesser expensive holsters are not tight in the belt loops, yet are closer to the body and offer better concealment than those that meet this requirement. I understand that the Uncle Mikes does position that gun quite off the body. But a good example of this would be the Blade-Tech injection molded holster. This holster IMO holds the gun closer to the body than the much more expensive Stingray holster, yet it is not legal by the definition of the rules, whereas the Stingray is. I learned my lesson way back in 1998 that you need to be responsible for your equipment. That being said, I saw plenty of holsters at the Nationals that had plenty of daylight through them. I'm not aware of anyone penalized for this. Maybe the match officials agree that if it doesn't offset the gun any, than it meets the "intent" of the rule?
  10. I think a "real" compact division would be kinda cool. Besides, how many people carry a GLOCK 34? I'm sure there are some, but I betting there are many more who shoot a G34 in competition, but carry a 19 or 26 for self defense.
  11. I think we have a winner here. Being able to shoot with 17+1 isn't going to help you count your rounds in a real life scenario. Most people I know don't actually count their rounds. They just know what target / shot they are going to go to slide lock at. It's a game until we stop keeping score and the targets don't shoot back. Heck, better preparation would be to have someone else load the gun initially for you (to varying capacity) and you not know where you are going to go to slide lock. It would make you be more in tune to realizing the gun is empty. That would be a better benefit for your "real life" scenario, IMHO.
  12. On the contrary, I'd like to see a Production only nationals. We've seen Open only, Limited only, even Single stack only and it's not yet a "real" division (yes, I know the why's behind that). We've already seen what one predominantly open shooter can do with a prod gun. IMO this would be the grandest of nationals. <resp=InitializeFlameSuit(resp);>
  13. Were Ben S. and Bob V. both shooting Glocks? Ben S. typically shoots a Beretta Elite II in competition. Unless something has changed, that would be my guess.
  14. In some circumstances, it is possible to get a shoot through waiver... Didn't Blake (or someone else) shoot through at last years nationals.
  15. Wouldn't the quick action with pre-cocked hammer spring be the hot ticket?
  16. Do you have a link to Saul's updates?
  17. Do we still have a 500 made rule for USPSA Limited / Limited 10 or is it anything goes that meets the rules? Could I make a 7" slided 1911?
  18. Don't you go muscling in on Vlad and Charlie's territory.
  19. Gotta root for our local guy and consummate gentleman , JJ Racaza!!
  20. Thanks for the kind words. I am signed up for the Speed on Steel and Fields of Steel matches this year. Finally, no conflicts for either of these.
  21. I'd like to hear from those that shot the NJ State IDPA match this past weekend. What did you think? I'm looking for all opinions, whether they're good or bad. BTW, I hope everyone had fun. Thanks, Bucky.
  22. Are you talking about a lightened striker spring? A lightened trigger spring should have no effect on how hard the striker hits the primer. The XL650 has no stop for the primer system, so doesn't it always seat the primers until they are flush? I still have a couple sleeves of the Feds left, so I'll save them for the big matches and should be ok. Ah good point. I was referring to small pistol.
