  1. This is new rule really puts a limit on what will be competitive. I was all set to have my Glock 35 slide sent to be setup for an optic. This would have been obsolete before I had a chance to use it. That's how it was when I started. Not that I want to see it that way again. I'm disappointed in the rule change. It looks like banned states are left with L10, Prod, and SS for auto divisions. And yet, many want to see L10 done away with. Sure, I know we have the state rule now, but if someone wants to go to a match outside their state (like their section or area match), they'll still want divisions where their legally owned equipment is competitive.
  2. I can't reach the thumb safety on the CZ, but can on the Tanfo. Don't own either at the moment though.
  3. For all of you that would have preferred carry optics, explain to me how that works. (Serious question!). Do you carry with the dot on all the time? If so, how often do you replace the battery? Or, do you have some kind of active on / off switch, like you see on Crimson Trace laser grips?
  4. Thanks for posting. Why are the places for the men's listed as #, or is that just my iPad rendering incorrectly? Thanks.
  5. Congrats to Phil on his victory. Well deserved.
  6. Looking at the results, many of the top shooters are showing zero for score?
  7. From what I can tell it's both. For CCP the 6" dimension of the box is 5.75 instead of 6.0. And, the thickness is restricted to 1 3/8s instead of 1 /5/8s. I have found that my Kimber Tactical Pro with the mag well fits with the barrel tilted down after I filed down the front of the base pads on the magazines and trim the left safety lever. I am planning on shooting the Kimber in CCP at the Arizona State Championship this Saturday but I'm bringing my Wilson Compact just in case I'm wrong.... Where are you seeing this? 8.2.4.1.5 The firearm with the largest magazine inserted must fit in the IDPA gun test box measuring 8 ¾” x 6” x 1 3 /8” ( 222.3 mm x 152.4 mm x 34.9 mm.)
  8. I've been running a borrowed CZ Shadow and I really like it. Is the Accushadow really that much better?
  9. I'll have to admit, like some here I thought the bottom of the box was going to be the part that would restrict the height of the gun. What makes a G19 more concealable than a G17, for me, is the grip length. So now the division is going to be full size frames with short barrels? Doesn't make much sense to me, but I'll shoot my carry G19 anyway.
  10. Good job Ben. That is quite an accomplishment. Are you still shooting an Elite 2?
  11. Appendix E3 is a diagram of "Equipment Position", doesn't say anything about retention devises. 5.2.4 refers to retention devices, but specifically says "after the start signal". (Of course that doesn't help the bump during the unload and show clear.) So I guess the question is, is the magazine equipment? If so, the magazine and gun should never be forward of the hip bone, even while shooting the course of fire..? Another question, is a pocket equipment?
  12. Yikes, that match could have had a different outcome!
  13. This was asked a couple of times, but not addressed. I'd really like to know. Also asked and not addressed, putting / pulling a bullet out of front shirt pocket? If we are to bypass intent, and go by these strict interpretations, what about the following: At the unload and show clear, I tuck the mag under my chin while manipulating the gun with both hands? - Open? I am shooting a seated stage, accidentally hit the mag button, mag falls in lap, I grab it and put it back in the gun - Open? I have a jam, I rack the gun and a live round falls down the front of my shirt - open?
  14. I keep toying with getting a P30L for competition, as I do like my P2000s. A G35 is just so much easier, at least at this time. Maybe as more aftermarket support is available, especially if Dawson starts making sights as hinted in another thread.
  15. Interesting. I'm looking for a shorter front sight for my P2000, which I'm pretty sure is the same front dovetail. I'll have to see what sizes they offer.
  16. Video link didn't work for me. I remember some time ago (2000?) there was a wood platform you had to shoot on. The morning squad had a slippery time with the morning dew. A couple guys actually went barefoot and it worked out pretty well for them. Never seen that one, before or since. Afternoon shooters had no issues once it was dry though.
  17. Happy Birthday to you too. :)

  18. I would have thought more XDs. I think the XDs have fallen off a bit in popularity. They were the anti-GLOCK, but looks like the M&P has taken over that title.

    HK P30-L 9mm

Was the LEM trigger ever ruled on in production? In my emails back and forth with John, it was eventually ruled that the LEM is production legal once the design was better understood. However, I don't see it on the approved list or any of the NROI rulings. I'll have to dig up my old emails and follow up.

    P30 Questions

I can't speak directly for the P30, but do have an LEM USPc and P2000. The length of pull for the LEM is the same as the DA/SA. The difference between the two is, the LEM mainspring is already cocked, so your only resistance is coming from the trigger return spring, until the very end when the two piece sear engages. The reset is a little less than half the pull length. It's a bit more than a GLOCK. It's likely the P30 is very similar.
