Kevin, I think it depends much more on the bullet. Bayous and Summit City are what I use, and they are clean.

I've shot over 100K of HiTek coated bullets with no smoke. 125gr over 4.0 grs of TiteGroup at 1.100" OAL.

I've had an occasional 9mm pass case gage, but not plunk test, and vice versa. Always plunk test.

Basically 10 round Glock mags suck. Do you live in a restricted state? The usual fix is to leave them loaded at 10 rounds for a few weeks. You don't need a 10 round only mag for competition, but some Divisions restrict mag capacity to 10 rounds.

Not my deal, but one of guys on the squad holstered his Carry Optics CZ with the hammer back after the Make Ready command. Some said DQ, some said to correct the start position, some said procedural. The rules that seem to apply are not so clear.

I loaded a 125 gr Montana Gold JHP on top of 8.2 grs of BE-86 to about 1,420 fps for Major 9 in Limited. But a 40S&W is far softer while still making Majjor.

I load once fired 357SIG on a 550 with Dillon dies, except for the Lee floating collet die. This setup does not require trimming of the brass as the Lee die allows about a +/-. 005" change in length. Lubing with Dupont Dry film lubricant. For the 125's 8.4 BE-86, for the 147gr, 7.6 BE-85

Buddy of mine recently blew up a G17 loading a 147gr Bayou over 3.3 grains of TiteGroup on a Dillon 550. Well he ended up pulling the handle twice while looking at the TV, KaBoom. However a 147 gr will easily fit into a case with 6.6 grains of TG.
OP, what press where you loading on? That's the reason to use a low density high volume powder on a manual indexing press that occupies at least 70% volume so it would spill over on a double. I run a 125gr HiTek over 4.0 grs of TG on my Square Deal, but use 4.6grs of BE-86 on my 550.

Stepped cases have been around for some time. AmmoLoad, MaxxTech, IMT and Freedom Munitions. Prone to separating, especially in a carbine. Not worth loading.

I got medically downgraded from Master to B after sustaining a broken wrist that really limited my ability to grip the weapon. Takes a letter from your surgeon and concurrence form the Area Director.

Ran over 10K of them. They work OK, not as good as CCI.

25K of +P+ cracked my G17 slide. Went back to Minor floor loads and it's over 300K now. Glock did replace the slide.

Depends on the charge weight. But there is still only 7,000 grains per pound. And Dillon powder measures usually throw +/- .1 grains for sugar powders, and more for corn flake powders. Powder is still the cheapest part of reloading components.

IMT, FM, AmmoLoad and MaxxTech, all have stepped cases. Toss them unless you want the brass to separate in the chamber and leave you with a dead gun, especially PCC's.

USPSA poppers are calibrated to a floor of 115.
2. Prior to commencement of a match, the calibration ammunition must be chronographed using the procedure specified in Appendix C2. The calibration ammunition, when tested through each designated firearm, should achieve a power factor between 115.0 and 125.0 to qualify. 9x19 mm is the recommended caliber.

Bayou was the first to run HiTek in the US. I've run tons of them over TiteGroup. If coated bullets smoke, they are imporperly cured, and most of the other companies had start up problems when they started using HiTek. Currently I am running Summit City with no smoke. But have also run BBI, DG, and Blue Bullets with similar results.
