  1. Hi Mike, Walter Melosky here in Manitoba.

You still using o2bnd at msn.com?

Saw your reply to squirrel about chemo port, and your diagnosis. Would like to send you email.

    Thanks Mike.

      Hey Walter!

      Correct email is o2bnnd@msn.com

My remarks are frankly less diagnostic and more comments based on current, very personal experience.  I am, at the moment, a struggling 'hope to be' cancer survivor.  I won't know how effective my treatments were until the end of May.

  2. ard212 It is not an IPSC rule. Some ranges, both indoor and outdoor have their own set of requirements. At the front of the rulebook that you received when you took your training course, does it state that some local rules have priority over the rulebook? If it is a range rule, that could be why the RM begrudgingly upheld the call. I understand that it is disheartening getting DQ'd at your novice match, but as ima45dv8 stated, take your course again, and have fun.
  3. Loctite primer is 7649 in a spray can. The comp on my 1911 started to come loose a few years back, I cleaned it well with a degreaser (Brakekleen) sprayed it with the primer, let it dry, then 3 drops of Loctite 620. Trust me you have to be quick, had to use a 12 inch crescent wrench to get the last 2 turns on it so the comp was oriented. 271 might not set as quickly, haven't needed to remove it so no clue.
  4. 314shane I just did some load development with Winchester Auto Comp. 124gr. Berry's 7.2 gr. WAC 1.265"OAL 1278 fps av. 161.5 PF CCI 500 primers. RP +P brass 124gr Berry's 7.4 gr. WAC 1.265" OAL 1352 fps av. 167.0 PF CCI 500 primers RP +P brass 124 gr. Berry's 7.6 gr. WAC 1.265" OAL 1405 fps av. 173.5 PF CCI 500 primers RP +P brass Schumann (sp) .355" match barrel, 4 port comp. I had the barrel throated so that I could run longer OAL, so just take that into consideration when you are setting OAL. Primers where still in good shape, no signs of over pressure. Temp was 80deg. F. As always YMMV so, start low and work your way up.
  5. Hello; I run 124 MG FMJ's through my .38 Super with a 4 port EGW comp. Load is 7.6 gr. WAC at 1.265 OAL and get a 170 P.F. generally. I know it's not for 115's but it is a start. Hope this helps.
  6. I have run AIM's in my open 38Super for nigh on 6 years. Accuracy is very good, able to hit pepper poppers at 45 - 50 yrds. without a problem without any holdover. I generally run the 124's, but for this weekends match I've loaded 147's. Other fellows that I shoot with run them in their Glocks in 9 mm and .40 cal. Up here, they are comparable in cost to the Berry's so, with the fact that one of my fellow shooters is a distributor for them makes it an easy choice. The only thing to watch on the AIM's is the weight, they may be approx. 0.1 - 0.2 grains shy on the weight, so adjust your charge accordingly if your running close to the minor PF floor.
  7. I started last season with WAC, works fine. Pistol shoots flatter than when I was using 8.1 gr. SR4756. 7.6 gr. WAC 124 MG RN. CCI500 primer 1.250" OAL 10# recoil spring 17# main spring 4 hole EGW comp no popple holes Schumenn (sp) .355" barrel 171.5 P.F. Pistol is a 38Super, but I don't think there will be any difference with SC, as I have loaded SC brass that I picked up on the range. Hope this helps.
  8. Sig, the dia. of the #3 button is 0.370", and if you lay a straight edge across the opening of the shellplate #5, the depth is 0.325" from the straight edge to the small dia. of the opening of the plate. This will give you an idea which component is your problem.
  9. Spanner, from my data from years ago, I have 7.3 gr. Universal Clays behind MG 124 gr. COL of 1.265" Federal200 primer. Velocity 1345fps 167 PF. My open gun has a 4 port comp,w/ 2 side ports at front end. Barrel is a Schumenn(sp) .355" Ultramatch. Suggest starting at 7.0 gr. and work up from there, watching for pressure signs. Hope this helps.
