  1. I run a 14 lb spring and non captured guide rod I got from Chris @ CPWSA for a G34. Works great for 130-132PF loads. I believe the spring is a Wolffe.
  2. Been using Zero 125 JHP's for a few years now in my Bedell shorty and have had no issues and great accuracy. Also using HS-6. Jim

    Bedell Shorty.

Mine came with a Recoil Master and is probably due for replacing again, but I cant remember which one it takes - heavy or light. Maybe I should just go with the standard rod and spring, although the RM hasnt given me any issues. Jim
  4. I just got a new M2 and found this sight also. Anyone try it yet? Jim
  5. A piece of 5/16 vacuum hose works great. Small amount of adhesive on inside then slide over knob and let dry. FWIW, a 7/32 vacuum end cap works good for standard switch c-mores. Six pack of caps at most auto parts stores are usually a dollar or two. Mine has been in place for over two years now. Jim
  6. Got my high precision 0.02 grain scale from UniqueTek a couple of years ago - still works great. Jim
  7. My friend and I both had similar issues ( losing zero). His ended up being a cracked slide and mine was a cracked c-more. C-more crack was above windage lock screw all the way to center adjustment plate. Rebody from c-more corrected mine unfotunately his was a little more expensive. Jim
  8. Chris @ CPWSA had a box full at the GA state match, dont know how many he has left though. Jim
  9. I had the same issue last winter, and only with 2 of my mags (one was my fav. big stick). Measured the mag bodies and they all were within spec. Thought that the cold weather might have had an effect on my stippled grip. Removed the grip and heated the inside with a hair dryer, wrapped one of the binding tubes with paper, then inserted the tube into the grip. Allowed it to cool then repeated it a couple more times. Have'nt had a sticking mag since! Jim
  10. I used to use STI tubes with 9mm followers and spacers and had no issues. But now I am using SVI tubes with 38 super followers and no spacers and still not having problems. The simpler you can make things IMO the better, especially for cleaning a dropped mag during match ( one less part to worry about ).
  11. MMMMMMM....... chili/slaw dogs and some onion rings, just have some Pepto!
  12. To my understanding, is that John Nagel (SJC) and Danny have been working on this for some time. The reason being that someone used to shooting Limited or Production and buying AAA ammo already can make the jump to Open and still have ammo available without reloading. The OAL is a little shorter than what I use for my 9-major platform but that insures that they will work most mags, esp. Glock/SJC setups also. Jim
  13. My 9 shorty has run flawless since day one, about a year and a half ago. Would'nt trade it for nothin'.
  14. John (Mad Scientist) at SJC is currently using Arredondo's. Plus they're easy to tear down for cleaning. Jim

    Recoil Springs

Go with Wolff springs. The ISMI springs I have used havent lasted too long.

    Monkey Butt

Saw this today at the drug store while waiting for a perscription to be filled. "Anti chaffing/relief powder gel" by Monostat. Unsure what it's for and way too embarassed to buy any. May change my mind this summer season. Jim
  17. I'm not an RO yet, but was DQ'd once. I broke the 180, plain and simple. I guess my feet went a little faster than the gun. The RO was attentive and caught my screw up = no one got hurt. The rules are there for a reason. Jim
  18. I usually reload. But sometimes get behind due to work schedule. In these cases I use Atlanta Arms & Ammo. They have a sweet 147gr 9mm thats perfect for production. They also have a nice .40 match grade. Jim
  19. I may only be a B class, but I have tried 40 minor and 9mm. Personnally, I went back to 9mm. I felt the slide cycled faster with the 9 loads. And if I ever ran short on my ammo I could always get plenty of the 147gr match ammo from Atlanta Arms.
  20. Go with the 147's, seeing as how Atlanta Arms uses the same bullet it can't be all bad. Too many top production shooters like it.
  21. I've heard CCI Blazer might make major depending on gun configuration.
  22. My SJC open mags all have Arredondo base pads. Big sticks get 28 (29 forcibly). May get better with time.
  23. My Bedell open gun slide cuts definitely have the "cool" factor.
  24. I shot my first indoor match in 2002 with a Springfield 45. Have been hooked ever since. Needless to say my gun collection has grown to accommodate all the USPSA divisions. Still love it!
  25. I've had two break in the middle. One happened at a state match. Automatic center punched each end on top of the pin holes. Still using the same sight.
