  1. With all due respect to Blowback9....with my light loads, 131PF, I had the brass dribbling out using an 8 ounce buffer plus stovepipe brass at times. Went back to 5.2 ounce buffer and it's now throwing the brass about 5 or 6 feet out with no stovepipes. 8 ounce buffer works well with factory ammo, but not with light handloads. At least that's what I found out with all four of my AR9s
  2. I've got the plus 4 base pads from Taylor Freelance and they work perfect with my Canik magwell on my Rival. Same color as well. Two thumbs up!!
  3. I thought that back in December during the board's information concerning the poll on rule changes they mentioned a membership of 36,000.
  4. Check under shotgun technician.....vr80 shooters are using wraps to keep gases off of hand

    What kind of issues?
  6. BCM charging handle on all my ARs. I only need to use one hand, left, to charge or clear the gun.
  7. Chrome on the bottom, black on the top for me
  8. The ones that come with the SRO work just fine
  9. I don't believe so. I don't have a magwell on mine and it fits pretty close to the receiver
  10. I was little surprised to find no one had any comments. I was interested in the Black River Drum mag for the VR80, but I did go ahead and purchase one after watching a dozen reviews on it. And I must say that I'm impressed. Ran 100 rounds thru the drum last night it ran great! Following instructions of lube and it never hesitated at all. Anyone else trying this drum mag?
  11. I recently sold my T&N 20round Promag drum mag as I wasn't confident that it would run 100% for shooting matches. I'm looking at a Derya import drum and also the Black River drum mags. Anyone running either of these in competition? Any feedback on drum mags for the VR80? Or are they more a range toy? My 19 rounder stick mags are 100%, but I was curious about the drum mags.
  12. Run srp in my .38 super and sti .40 since day one. Use them in the pcc also. Chrono them with the pcc against spp....had less than 4fps difference, much to my surprise.
  13. I've used only Metalform mags(same thing that Brownells sells) in my AR and haven't really had a problem in the past six years(with the exception of a FTF with one of my Hahn mag adapter, which has been corrected now). I did try a couple of the Taylor Freelance follower and springs in my 32 round Metalform mags that had been converted to a +10 extension that I purchased from Taylor Freelance a number of years ago. They worked great! No problems with them at all. Wouldn't hesitate to use them...although if you use them in the regular 32 round mags you will lose a few rounds overall as they will not accept all 32 rounds with the newer spring in them. I just use them on the extended mags and can get 41 rounds in them. I have been avoiding the C products after reading about problems with them. I picked up 25 32 round magazines back when there were deals on them thru Palmetto Armory(I think the price was somewhere around $12-$13 at that time). The Metal form mags are heavy walled and the followers are metal and slip thru the magazines with no binds and plenty of room to move around so I don't expect any problems there either. Shooting partner of mine also uses the Metalform mags with no problems.
  14. Should have replied back to this topic a month ago...sorry for those who were wondering what I found. Bottom line was that the Hahn mag block needed some attention. I swapped out the one I was using for a different Hahn mag block and everything went right back to working again. I've shot four matches with it now and no FTF at all. I also tried out a Macon Armory mag block(also the same one that KAW sells, it's made by the same shop) and it works great also, except for a little tight on some of the metalform mags. Talked with the guys at Hahn and they have had some mag blocks that had been worn out(a complete surprise to me) but at a much higher round count that I had(15,000 rounds). Mine was not worn out, but needed to be readjusted in the mag well, and I polished up the feed ramp a little with the dremel tool. Good to go now.
  15. Been using Metalform mags in my AR9 for the past 6 years(yes, I use a colt adapter..Hahn). It's been very reliable over the years but in the past 12 months I'm getting a FTF jam at times. Cartridge is coming out of mag at an angle, of course, but jams with the nose up and case not quite clearing the magazine. Doesn't happen very often, just enough to screw up a stage or two in a match. Tried various things....cleaned mags, scraped and cleaned the Hahn feed ramp, changed the extractor tension..ect....but I'm still getting an occasional jam. This gun has been flawless up to this point, but now I worry about it. Using a JP Barrel, Taccom bolt, shorten up the stroke....Is there someone out there who "tunes" these mags like they do with SV mags and other hi-cap mags? Perhaps changing mag springs? I've been using a 135 grain RN bullet at 132 power factor since day one. It wouldn't be so frustrating if the gun always had trouble...but like I said....it ran flawless for years. Any advice is much appreciated!! Thanks
  16. I opened up my ports with a number 32 drill bit....size is .116. Works well with 1200FPS Federal....shot a match today and had no problems at all. I would like to know what Benny Hill is opening them up to....I "heard" that he is going even larger
  17. Looking for getting another mag well from Bmiller but can't find any contacts for him anymore. is he still making them?
  18. Need another Hiperfire 24C to finish up another 9mm PCC gun...anyone know of any discount codes at the present time to pick up another 24C trigger?
  19. Question concerning the ammo...…..is everyone using factory ammo? How about reload/handloads? Anybody try them at all? I understand about shells going oval if left in the magazines too long...so is that why I never hear about someone using their own handloads in the VR80? Will the handloaded shotshell not hold round enough to keep the gun going? Your thoughts...……..
  20. Built my last PCC using a American Gold Trigger.....BUT....using a Taccom Extreme Bolt...it has more "depth" as in a true AR-15 bolt so there is no problem with resetting the trigger. Other PCCs I have use the Hiperfire 24C and JP's. No problem with any of them.
  21. I realize that it's low end, but has anyone handled or checked out an X12 Typhoon? It came out at the Shotshow this year and looks interesting to say the least. Also looking at a Utas XTR....guess I'm looking for an AR-10 style shotgun without going crazy on price. Don't need a $2500 custom shotgun for what I'm doing. Thanks!
  22. Had the exact same look on the end of my new Taccom firing pin after only a few rounds. Then the misfires began. I've ordered two new ones(Taccom) that came in this week...they look like they have been heat-treated. They appear dark as opposed to shiny. Running these in my Taccom extreme bolts.
