Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Good morning guys, my dear wifey poo has graciously allowed me to take her G19 to the range to shoot paper . :D Hoping some of you would care to share some of your loads with me. Power factor is NOT an issue here for these loads as I going to be shooting slow fire @ 25 yards offhand just to have fun and see what it's capable of. C.O.L. as well as crimp will be greatly appreciated and I will be using Starline brass. Thanx, Denny.
  2. I've shot at IWLA/York. Great fun and well run program.
  3. Hello to all youse guys. I think I'll pull up a chair and set a spell. Probably won't learn much here 'cause ah bin shootin' before gunpowder was invented and headshots on squirrels @ 1000yds is just too easy. Be gentle with me. Denny.
  4. MarkCO Thank you for your reply but leading due to lower velocity is counter to my experience shooting cast bullets. Shooting dead soft DEWCs out of my PPC gun that barely made it out of the barrel as well cast bullets out of others have not resulted in leading for me. If you have time to go into it further I'm always willing to draw from another mans experience. TIA, Dennis. BTW, is this a Glock thang ???
  5. tried to delete due to double posting but couldn't. Please see my other posting w/same title. Thank you, DennisJ
  6. Hi guys, I'm looking to put together a soft 147 grain load using a 147 grain hardcast from Dardas bullets to shoot out of my wife's G19. I use Dardas bullets exclusively in my Clark heavy slide 1911 and can't speak highly enough about them. I'm new to loading the Glock so if you would be kind enough to share your experience with me I'd be grateful. BTW, for those of you that are using this bullet a C.OL. would be most helpful. TIA, Dennis.
  7. 245LSWC, 4.3GR. Clays ========================================== 185LSWC Dardas 3.8gr. Bullseye shoots sweet out to 50yds. from my Clark heavy slide.

    Glocks & Loads

The lower velocity of your 155 grain load means more barrel time and it will shoot higher as your pistol spends more time in recoil thus the 6 o'clock hold to compensate. Good shooting, DennisJ
  9. Pop',I understand your question and it really is a logical one but the truth is belling a rifle case mouth when loading jacketed bullets just isn't necessary. A simple chamfer and you are set to begin seating bullets. Lyman sells a case belling/flaring die called an 'M' die that is primarily used when loading cast bullets to avoid shaving lead. Belling case case mouths when loading pistol cases is SOP but not necessary in bottleneck rifle catridges. Straightwall rifle cartridges such as the 45/70 require belling but please don't confuse the two types of brass Good shooting, Dennis
