  1. Jericho, Archer, and both the old and new Battlestar Galactica are available on Netflix. Sent from my RM-820_nam_att_100 using Board Express
  2. Wanted to do a follow-up range report! For the setup, I put in a 12.5 lb recoil spring, an 18 lb mainspring, added a Dawson ICE magwell and decided to shoot it. Also, Mike Foley at Shooter's Connection did some mojo on it to help the trigger along! Can't say enough about the guys there! Spent some time at an indoor range to sight-in the gun. Had a FTF in the first 50 rounds through the gun but other than that, it ran flawlessly for 100 rounds. So far so good! I have shot two matches with this gun now and it seems to be running very well! The first match was a classifier match in preparation for Battle in the Bluegrass. Not wanting to jeopardize my solid "C" in SS I shot in Limited 10 to get classified. First three stages were getting used to the gun and it's timing, so a couple of shots didn't find their way onto the paper. On the fourth stage, I finally got the hang of it and finished the day strong. Had a few reload issues but overall, the gun was fun to shoot and I had no issues that were the gun's fault. The shooter just needs a little more practice. Coming from Limited to SS and trying to reload those skinny mags will take some getting used to. Oh, and I changed out the standard mag release for an extended Dawson and added a Shooter's Connection button after this match. Definitely a recommended upgrade. Later that week, I shot a short three stage match at a local indoor range. Everything went well but I had one bulged case get stuck and had to power rack the gun to get it out. Of course, this was on the speed stage, so that really screwed up my match. So much for my QA! The chamber might be a little tight but for now I'm just going to check my ammo a little closer. I think I just missed a piece of Glocked brass since everything else ran fine. Other than that and a couple of rough reloads, it ran like a top. In summary, I'm really enjoying the gun! I think the Tripp mags were definitely the way to go. Thanks to Steel1212 for the recommendation! As the saying goes, you get what you pay for! I'm excited about shooting it for the next few weeks to prep for BITB and it is definitely going to be a temptation to shoot this instead of my Limited rig this season. Just have to get used to the idea of changing mags more! If anyone has any specific questions, please feel free to hit me up.
  3. Wanted to share my new SS! Hard chromed STI Trojan .40 from Shooter's Connection and Corey mags from Tripp! Big thanks to Mike, Chuck, and Barry for helping me get everything setup. Shot it last weekend and absolutely love it!
  4. Big fan of the Oakley Half-Jackets. I have a smoke set and a transitions set. The Transitions set are great for indoor and also if the light changes. Really cool during winter months.
  5. I've found running a PMAG with the Nordic extension solves 99% of the stages you run into. I do keep a 20 rounder for special situations and I carry a spare 30 rounder for those "oh crap" moments. Be careful with the Nordics though, I broke one at the last local match when I dumped my rifle. Having to find a new one was a bit of an adventure under the current circumstances. I've looked at the Surefire mags but I can't justify the cost, even before things went bonkers.

  7. Great match this year! Thanks to all the ROs and staff and all of the sponsors. Can't wait until next year!
  8. I just picked up an FNH FNS-9 and was thinking about running it for USPSA/Three-gun and was wondering if anyone could suggest a holster and mag pouches. I've looked but can't seem to find anything. I know the FN team guys are running these so there has to be a holster out there, just can't seem to find it. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

  10. Wow. What can I say that hasn't already been said? Thanks to the Nobles and all the ROs, vendors, sponsors, and staff that made this match a great event. I've never been to a match that ran so smoothly. Even though I shot poor enough to not even want to talk about it, this match was the most fun I've had in a long time. The stages were fun and challenging (glad I wasn't shooting pro!), the ROs made the stages smooth, even the squad I shot with was great. Our squad was always early to the stage, ready to go, and Saturday night, we all sat as a group for dinner! I don't know of many other sporting events that takes people from different walks of life and throws them together and everyone winds up friends. By the end of the match, everyone was joking around with each other and having a good time. It has definitely inspired me to get into better shape and practice more in order to do better next year! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone next year for another great weekend!
  11. Firefly Justified (Gotta love a show based in KY) Battlestar Galactica (Old and New) Jericho - Cancelled way before its time! Band of Brothers Justified is just great. Being from KY makes it even better. I hope we get a season 3. Added this link for a promo for the show:
  12. I can't believe they're remaking Red Dawn. The remake was suppose to have the Chinese invading but since that wasn't politically correct and they wanted to sell movies in China, they digitally changed the bad guys to North Korean. I'm just sick of remakes personally.
  13. Wounded warrior is a great charity. I know it's not the right season but we did a Steel Challenge match one December that in lieu of the match fee, you could bring a toy of equal value for the Marine's Toys for Tots charity. We had a bunch of toys and the club decided to donate the cash from the match as well. I believe that any type of charity that we can support is a good idea. Whatever you decide, I think it's a great thing you're doing!
  14. +1 for Priority Club. Check the Priority Club website right before you travel, many times they have bonus points programs running that gives you an extra 500 points per night. On a business trip to England, I stayed at a Holiday Inn for 3 weeks. They had an online program with bonus points, so I earned about 70000K points extra that stay. Also, the higher level (gold, platinum) you earn, the more points you get per stay. Their redemption rates are pretty reasonable too. If at all possible, I stay at Holiday Inns when I travel for work or play.
  15. Last year, I flew to New Orleans and back home with a .45 ACP round in my laptop bag. Somehow it had gotten in there at the house and I didn't see it. Neither did TSA. I got a new bag a the conference and was transferring my laptop and stuff when I got home and found it. On one hand, I'm glad I didn't get caught because of all the hassles it would cause. On the other, it was kind of disturbing that I made it through two different airports without a problem. These days I'm just a bit paranoid about searching my bag before stepping foot in the airport.
  16. Thanks for everyone's suggestions. Picked up a set from Brownell's. Very happy and no dings on the SLP!
  17. Have you ever had any problem making power factor with the American Eagle? My biggest concern with factory ammo is failing power factor at a match that I paid $$$ for.
  18. Here's some pictures! Looks like good construction and looking forward to trying them out. Here's a link to his website: http://www.triangleshootingsports.com/otto.htm Todd
  19. I just received my shotgun caddies from Mark Otto. Just wanted to let everyone know they were absolutely great. Good quality and good service. Can't say enough about them!
  20. Thanks for all the great replies! I just placed an order with Doug at DC ammo. I'm going to give that a try! Todd
  21. Save your brass - you will be reloading soon:) Already saving everything. Just not ready to take the plunge for a press and other stuff. I figure another year of shooting and I'll be reloading.
  22. Since I'm not really into reloading, I'm looking to purchase some 9mm for Production. I was looking at a wide variety of ammo and was hoping someone could give some advice on type to get in order to make power factor and quality of ammo. I was looking at some of the reloaded brass ammo from Atlanta Arms and Ammo but was also considering some cheaper stuff. I'd appreciate any advice anybody could pass along. Thanks, Todd
