Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. The current production Python front sight is held in place by a .050" set screw from the muzzle end.
  2. I will be able to measure next weekend. Here's a photo showing the problem.
  3. Please consider making a fiber optic front sight for the current production Python. The Marble is too short. Thanks!
  4. I concur on cartridge security. The DS10 does not leak ammo like the SpeedBeez. SpeedBeez sent me their new double loader carrier. However, the problem persists.
  5. UPDATE 12/11/2020 I today received the following email from Speed Beez: "Edward, We have a new double pouch that holds the loader a little different and will get one sent out to you Monday at no charge."
  6. I ordered a couple DS-10s. I also contacted Speed Beez a few days ago about their loaders unprovoked puking live rounds. No response from Speed Beez yet. Thanks for the DS-10 tips.
  7. I've had the same problem with my SpeedBeez. Is there a solution?
  8. I recently purchased a 627 with the LPA fiber optic rear sight. I prefer a plain black rear sight blade. I contacted Fusion Firearms , a distributor of LPA products. Fusion has the plain black rear blade for sale @ $39.95 - not cheap but, cheaper than the entire rear sight. Best, ELN.
  9. As of this writing (09/26/2019 12:13 p.m.), EuroOptics is quoting a 1 - 3 month shipping window.
  10. For those of you running 625s, what loads are you using? I have a stash of Clays and was thinking of 200 gr. RN or 230 gr. RN Bayou Bullets. I asked a similar question over in the reloading forum but, since we're talking about the 625 here... Thanks much.
  11. I'm in the same boat with a brand new 625 PC. I plan to use 200 gr. RN or 230 gr. RN Bayou Bullets. I have an ample supply of Clays on hand. Any suggested powder weights for IDPA? Thanks much. ELN
  12. Thank you gentlemen. That worked. Some filing and fitting was needed. Total install time was about 40 minutes. Best regards, ELN.
  13. My Dawson 020-036 replacement fiber optic front sight arrived today. Before I start banging away with the aluminum punch, which direction should the existing factory front sight move for removal? Right to left or, left to right? The Dawson instructions aren't very clear about that. Thanks much. ELN
  14. I had an interesting case involving a High Point in .45 ACP. One of our local oil field trash hit a co-worker upside the head with a High Point. The vic's head was apparently tougher than the High Point as it went skidding down the highway absent some of its parts. Wishing all my armed oppenents choose the High Point, from the Big Empty, ELN.
  15. A brief range report: I today shot this pistol for the first time. After checking the bore and lubing the rails a bit, it was off to the races for 250 rounds of "been in the garage since dirt" .22 LR. In a nutshell - this pistol rocks! I paid $600 with hopes that it would reasonably replicate my competiton 1911, would run reliably, would demonstrate adequate accuracy, and would same me some money on ammo cost. It all works. No malfunctions in 250 rounds. The trigger feels like a crisp 4 pounds. Accuracy was very, very good. The good news/bad news is that there's no muzzle rise, muzzle blast, or recoil. It's like shooting a .45 ACP but, a smidgen different. All in all, the best thing since canned beer. Best regards, ELN.
