Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. How many stages? Any word on prize table and who will be Ro'ing? I am sure there are some ICORE board members lurking. Jason
  2. Great match. Staff was excellent. Nate did a great job getting it all together. A big thank you to Dennis(?) and his crew for lunch. Stages were great. I like moving and shooting so if you wanted stand and deliver/steel challenge stages you were probably not happy. I will travel to wherever they hold this match. That being said I think this is one of the best IRCs in recent history(3-4 years). If they want to bounce it back and forth east coast/west coast fine but, let us make sure the club can offer a match worthy of the title International Revolver Championship. Wherever they hold the match, bring a new revo shooter with you. I am not trying to do a P.S.A. for Icore but. I had a great time shooting with a couple of new guys on our squad. It brought back a lot of memories of having self doubt about a stage and having a more experienced shooter tell you that you could do something you were pretty sure you could not and it paid off. Win/win you get the trip down memory lane they get some mentoring. Now to the complaining, HOW MUCH DO I NEED TO PAY FOR CLEAN TARGETS ON STANDARDS? tired of bad/tough calls. Putting a new target up must be faster than pasteing 36 holes. This gets rid of the "thats not your hole, tape must of fell off, I dont see a grease ring(in the black x) penalty for extra hit when tape does fall off ,etc, etc, etc. b.s. GIve us new targets we can score them in the shade while they are putting the targets up for the next relay. Dont worry I cant pull tape off the target before it is scored,....there is none. Jason
  3. I think you should go ahead with limited 6. I also think you should create open 6(next thing that will be requested). I would even go for 5 shot snubby class/ bug div.(just not 5 shot snubby open....that's ridiculous). I don,t believe you will draw more participation. If you want that, you should send a rep to idpa nationals & uspsa revolver nationals and see if you can drum up some cross sport interest. Maybe give out a couple free entries to irc at nationals. Change the matches to Trophy matches and skip the "prize table" of course you would need to do away with the $200.00 entry fee and make it more inline with a trophy match. This would allow more people to try shooting a major Icore match in whatever division applies. Keep in mind most of the shooters for Uspsa revo nats were there to shoot single stack..not revolver. Revolvers either you like shooting them or you don't. Appeal to the guys who like them. Jason
  4. Are you adjusting the crimp die when you change bullets? If you set the crimp with plated then the crimp will be too tight with lead. The lead is larger than the plated adding to a tight crimp causing the case to buckle and not chamber. Jason
  5. Irc is in the books. Looking for apps for MId West reg.? Jason
  6. Great match. Chris and the staff really deserve a big round of applause. The match has been so-so in the last couple of years and I am glad to see it return to a World Championship status. I brought a newbie with us this year and I am sure he will be back. Thank you again to the staff for their hard work. Jason
  7. This was a good match. The stages were fun. The staff was very helpful(thank you Linda). The range officers were very forgiving. Did not shoot really well. I did make the hits on the targets on stage 7 with Iron sights( my stage 11 was not as stellar). We shot stage 7 friday morning the target that was hard to see for me was the closest one from the second position. I did not think the stage was unreasonable( no more than shooting clay birds surounded by no shoots with pistol/rifle) The squad I shot with was great. Big thank you to TMC for his advice and a really big thank you to Glenn for staying with the squad and busting his ass helping reset. A real class act. I hope this match continues to improve. I do agree that continuity should be the goal with target presentation. All in all I had a good time and would return. Jason
  8. I understand that the entry fee is $50.00 and I am required to bring a prize for the table worth $50.00? Why not just make it $75.00 like last year. Save all your unwanted prizes for the gun show like everyone else, or just make it a plaque match. Random draw what prizes you receive from sponsers. I have a box of Ranier 480 Ruger bullets that are worth $146.00 can I share my prize with multiple entries? How about a gift certificate for a resturaunt in Arizona. How about a deli tray from Costco.(It doesnt say I cant bring food.on that note....Aunt Edna's canned beets are priceless how about those) I am joking but you see where I am going with this. There should be a box to check on the entry form not play in the white elephant gift game.Maybe this can be a side match ($ 50.00 entry) or a silent auction. Can we just have a shooting match !
  9. I am in, receieved confirmation today. With my shooting buddies ....that is four more shooters total in the match. Does anyone have a total count to date? Looking forward to to this match. Jason
  10. Varminter22, I am just being a pita. Everyone from Phoenix had a blast.I saw someone was taking photos and recording the awards. Where would I be able to check out the photos? I saw there are new pictures up so forget about the request for photos. Jason
  11. This was a great match. Better than the last few regionals.I would say as good as the Irc. I hope Nathan continues to hold this match. The staff was great, the range worked out well, and lunch was very good. Nathan is a great Match Director and he put up with my b.s. quite well. Speaking of which I thought I won Classic. The results still say I came in second... . Wait I found the overal results. I would put this down as one of the matches to shoot in 2013. Jason
  12. I wanted to invite anyone who wants to shoot 10 stages of revolver to come and complete on Oct 13 at Phoenix rod & gun club. Icore rules and classifications. The app is on Phoenix Rod & Gun Club's website. http://phoenixrodandgun.org/Divisions/Practical/2012ICOREStateChampionship/2012ICOREStateChampionship.htm Jason
  13. I heard they were using .22 semi autos in Europe. The idea was spawned where it is difficult to have mutliple handguns or there are caliber restrictions. Jason
  14. I said stump ...singular. Now if there are multiple stumps and some movement and a little thought given to the stage. I would be willing to travel.Would be nice for a change, new blood and all. What is the worst that can happen..........Would the staff have their own Ipads? Jason
  15. I like far & near standards. As for straight forward.......I am not looking for memory games or strange shooting positions just some fun. Straight forward = boring. As to Art stepping up I thanked him for his service on the fly.The important point that should be made is that we pay Icore dues and match fees for a service. When the board does not insure that a match director and a match stages are selected and vetted well in advance of the match it tells the members how they really feel about the membership/match. If the quality of the match/stages does not improve (it has been slipping year after year) there will be alot of people who will drop this match from their list of must shoot matches. There will always be a hard core revolver contingent that would stand and shoot at a stump if you called it a match......I am not one of those guys.
