As far as the G34 vs. G17, I'd go with the G34. It's just a touch longer and will help with those long distance shots. However, you can't possibly carry/conceal a G34, whereas you can possibly a G17. So just decide if you want to use your carry/conceal G17 for IDPA for all of the practice.

Thanks for the reply. I read all about your upgrades to your G21. I believe that I'm gonna go with a G21 SF since I'm used to the feel and I don't have too big of hands, but we'll see. Too bad I still don't live in Indiana, or else you could school me every week at the range!

I called Smith & Wesson and they said any M&P made after I believe August 2011 they should have the issue cleared up. If you have any questions, have your serial number, model number, and call them at 800-331-0852. Expect to be on hold for 10 minutes, but they will give you all of the correct info you need.

Ok, so ive been doing IDPA for 2 years, USPSA classified in Production, now I'm looking at getting into 3 gun. What barrel length for an AR would you suggest, Gas vs. Piston impingement? Like i said, im a newbie to 3 gun, so any helpful advice is appreciated.

Considering selling a Colt Commander. Not too much work done to it, most just stock with a fiber optic sight added. What are these things going for currently?

I run a 13 lb spring in mine and ive never had an issue. The 11 lb spring was a different story. Sometimes the gun wouldnt go completely into battery, so i'd suggest the 13lb. I have run over 5000 rounds before i change my springs out, or once a year, whichever comes first. P.S. I'm running just plain old factory ammo through mine, if you run reloads you can get away with different springs. Just test before going to the match.

All of my current guns for IDPA are Glock Gen 3's. I've changed out all disconnects and springs on my Gen 3's, i just want to get some insight on the Gen 4's. Are there any pros versus cons for everyone between the different Gen 3 & 4? Also, what recoil spring are most of you running on the Glock 21?

How did you folks mount the Sevigny sights in the Glock 19? I had a set and tried to put in the front sight, but the slide doesn't have enough space for me to attach it with the 3/16" nut driver. It's ridiculous tight in there. Any ideas? I didn't want to lathe out the front edge of the lip in order to give myself enough room to attach the front sight.

I have always been a right handed shooter all of my life, and now as my age increases, my eyes get worse. I have gone from right eye dominant to left eye dominant. How in the world do I correct for this? Just keep shooting with the right eye on the front sight and sacrifice time to acquire targets quickly, or start the transition over to the left eye?
