  1. Isn't it pretty much just a bull barrel Eagle with a light rail cut into it?
  2. 26 in stoeger if $1000 is the budget for a gun with all the bells and whistles
  3. I like the mecgars much more then the factory sp01 mags
  4. My had a cosmetic flaw also. When they flared the magwell it looked like they did it with a die grinder and held in place for to long because in one spot it was ground down way farther then the rest of the magwell. I bought if from CZC and they made things right with me. They said the magwell flaring is done at the factory.
  5. I bought a new kkm barrel for a gun. 10k through it. I switch platforms so I don't ever shoot that gun anymore. I WON'T sell the barrel for $100 even though it just sits in the safe now.
  6. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=446426278 Maybe a little outdated but here is a cheap open gun
  7. Just buy both. Reloading bayou or bbi bullets and buying once fired brass will save more than enough money to pay for the press after probably 5k rounds so it almost like the press is free since it pays for itself. The only down side is if you buy both at the same time you are making a higher initial investment.
  8. Came loose on mine also, I put some Loctite on the setscrew threads an reset. Has been fine ever since.
  9. Get a m&p9 pro with the aek and Dawson sights. Uses base pads for 3gun. Then just take the base pads extensions off to shoot USPSA production. About as close as your going to get to a do it all gun.
  10. A lot of people think that 147s knock down steel better. I shoot 147s because that is what my press is set up for and I don't like to mess with it if I don't have to. In a heavy gun like a CZ there isn't much felt recoil difference between a 147 and a 125. There is a lot more noticeable difference in the lighter poly guns.
  11. Maybe its because people that care enough to spend $1200 plus on a production gun are more worried about concentrating on 1 division then shooting multiple disciplines
  12. I used to not be able to stand Benelli shotguns. I thought they where just a bunch of arrows on a stock and other stupid features that they used for the marketing of over prised guns. If inertia is really better then why is Benelli the only one using it? Right? Well anyway, I was walking through a lgs and saw a M2000 sitting on the self used for only $250. Picked it up and it was light. Figured it would be a nice light pheasant gun since it seems like all I do is walk for no reason since there aren't any birds in Iowa anymore. After a couple weeks the benefits of inertia where obvious. Lighter, soooo much cleaner, and very reliable. (I must have bought the only M2000 that actually runs) I turned the M2000 into a 3gun shotgun and it has treated me very well. Now I have a M2. As far as Im concerned the only benefit of gas guns are lighter recoil. To each there own, but to me gas shotguns are dead.
  13. Use the CZ custom shop hammer to keep it production legal. You will want to use the Cajun Gunworks Sear with that hammer so the safety will operate correctly. The other parts you mentioned should be production legal since they are internal
  14. Same one that I use. Its a must at major matches
  15. My shadow that I bought over the winter has 5k through it without any malfunctions that weren't ammo related, like a partial powder charge because the only powder I could find doesn't meter well. I have gone over 1k without cleaning it twice. Still hasnt choked. Reliable enough for me.
  16. I think is probably more of a problem after you have been reloading for a while and all of your brass starts to get beat up after reloading it may times. Not saying you cant have a fte with factory ammo, but we make the problem worse then it would normally be since the vast majority of us reload
  17. Ive put my M&PS through hell and they have been though much more then any LEO trade in will have gone through. The one is an early M&P9 Pro and has way over 30k through plus 3 years of daily dryfire and still shoots great. If I was in the market for a cheap .40 I wouldn't hesitate to buy a LEO trade in, but I have plenty of pistols I don't shoot already the way it is.
  18. The VersaMax has to be the lightest recoiling shotgun Ive ever shot, and the loading port is huge. But I bought a 24" M2 instead about 2 weeks ago. It just felt like it pointed better and all around felt more natural when shooting. Im sure youll be happy either way you choose.
  19. Ive run well over a thousand rounds through my shadow without cleaning it, no malfunctions either. Just add some mobile 1 at night and call it good
  20. Set it up with the aek and the apex extractor with some Dawson sights and be production/SSP legal. Add a mag well and extensions for limited and 3gun. Take extensions and mag well off when not shooting limited or 3gun

    Trigger won't reset

I always use paypal when ordering from cgw

    Trigger won't reset

+1 on the cgw pin and spring. Makes the job easy
  23. If you are only going to do one thing I also would recommend the sear. On back of the factory sear it is kind of cam shaped where it engages the striker. When you are pulling the trigger you have to over come that which adds weight. The apex sear is more squared off.
  24. Century arms is importing their version of a compact SP-01, I just bought a tristar p120 from buds about a month ago and the frame says Tristar on it in large letters and right under it that it says canik in smaller letters. I put the CGW sights on it and a CGW modified CZ85 trigger with the over travel screw in it. The reset isn't as short as my shadow with the CZC short reset trigger but its still reasonably short now that I got rid of all the over travel with the set screw. Probably cut reset travel in half. I also replaced the main spring, trigger return spring, the recoil spring, and polished the internals. This thing is a good shooting gun now. The grip circumference is closer to that of a 3rd gen Glock then it is to an actual CZ. It could really use a CZ oversized mag release and they do have mag brakes in them. I also modified a CZ75b extended firing pin to make it work. Overall I like the gun, and it has never malfunctioned yet. (only about 500 rounds through it)
