  1. been monitoring the site for a while and it looks like all they produce now are 115 JHPs. Are they selling 124's to other suppliers? I have heard a rumor that the company is for sale - any truth to that?

Most here assume this is an AR style platform. If it's a precision bolt gun, OAL can be made to fit jump from lands.

allow me to rephrase, Hornady recommends 2.20 Oal

  3. Some recent 69 loads with Ramshot, Accurate, and Shooters World. Rifle is a 16" Spikes with a Wilson 1-8 Wylde Stainless Fluted Barrel. Most accurate in my gun, in bold.

  4. Throwing into the mix a couple off brands STI GrandMaster 9 Major with HS-6 or VV 3N38 with MG 124 JHPs.

Unis Ginex 5.56 SRP primers, over 1000 now with no problems - although I did buy them for my ARs. Servicios y Aventuras, about 500+ now, surprisingly have been 100% in my open gun. Not so much in my Production Glock. Leads me to believe that these are hard NATO-type small primers. Getting them for $50.00/k. Just bought 10,000. I tried my Federal 200 SPMs, although they ran great I did notice a bit of cratering, but I am running an obnoxious HS-6 load. I dont think they will do that with the 3N38 I'm loading now.

  5. IMO use a fast powder. Being a lefty I can tell when there not a complete burn… powder in the face. WSF did this, switched to w231 and e3 and now runs perfectly. Never had any problems with accuracy so can’t offer help there. My pcc is the most basic. PSA 16” upper with a spikes lower. 9oz buffer with carbine flat wire spring. Not pricey or fancy but runs 100%, me well that’s another subject.

  6. Answering my own question. 8.8gn has me at 173 PF at 1.168. 9.2gn up at 179 PF. I did the full ladder starting at 8.6 and stopped at 9.2. Using fed 200 spm there was never any pressure signs where my current 8.4 hs6 load of 175pf shows some cratering.

I have basically the same load: Alsa 124gr FMJ RN, 8.6 grs of 3N38 from an old STI matchmaster with a 4,25" barrel but I'm getting barely an average of 163 PF.

Now I'm having a Brazos 5" barrel with TC2 cuts. Any suggestions on how much to use 3N38? Just by looking at the post above, 8.6 grs might be way too much. Just looking for a ballpark start. Maybe 8.2?

any update on the Brazos TC2 with 3N38. I just bought some 3N38 - have a STI GrandMaster with the TC2.

  8. i run 25 of H-335 with the Z-Max (V-Max) and it is up there compared to a 55fmj because the bullet length is longer than a fmj therefore more pressure/velocity. Look to 62-69g load data if you want something milder (basically take away a grain or two). Its lights-out accurate for my 1-8 Wylde at 25. If your primer is something like a cci400, they are going to be flat. I've used those and S&B's with no worries.

  9. I think saying spending more money gets you more/better quality is misguidance. I've seen off the shelf run trouble free for years and expensive high-end guns go in the shop over and over. Enos is a great resource for feedback, just watch the fanboys reinforcing their purchasing decisions. You can get a decent used open gun - I have a Grandmaster from the custom shop, send it to a quality gunsmith (deep river) for a once over and tune and be perfectly happy. Gun is 100%, me well 75% LOL.
