Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Big Blue is the way to go.....No matter what model you get! I have a 650 but have loaded on a 550 and a Square Deal. The service after the sale is top notch!!
  2. I have two kids that just started IDPA, USPSA, and Action Steel. Both have M&P 9 Pro's and are learning to control the recoil and group their shots. They have TONS of range and trigger time with steel challenge and 4-H shooting sports on .22's. My dad has cast bullets all my life and he's retired now so I dig up the wheel weights and he cast and loads on my Dillon 650 for us. We shoot Tite Group (Buy it in bulk 8 lb can) and Winchester or CCI primers (Depends on how cheap the bulk buy is for 5000). We cast with two pots and have multiple 6-Cavity Lee Bullet Molds 356-120-TC single grease grove. The 120 grain saves you on wheel weights over the 147 grain. You can turn out about 6000 bullets in about 4 hours (Then you have to size and lube them). Yes there are more man hours involved but we shoot for way less. I have a 3rd child that will be on a 9mm in a couple of years so we do what we can to save on bullets. The initial cash layout is expensive for casting and reloading but we've purchased all our stuff over years of shooting so it was not too bad when you spread it out. My Dad can load about 600 rounds an hour and I can push almost 1000 an hour when I have all the primer tubes full and nobody's talking to me on the 650. Kids check the case length and head space and drop them into 100 round boxes for the next range session. We've never had any issues with leading in the barrels or accuracy. Just my two cents.
  3. LOL....Always good to run with MR. HILL so says the Payne Clan!!

  4. Glad you friend-ed me on here. It's a good life running with the Payne's :-)

  5. I want a 41 so bad I can taste it. My dad and uncle both have one and they shoot like a dream. They are a little fussy about ammo but run good 98% of the time. I have 1 Mark II and 1 Mark III with Tactical Solutions uppers and they run like a champ. My kids both shoot buckmark lite's one in 7 1/4 and the other in 5 1/2. All 4 guns run fine. I clean them and oil them up before we go our steel challenge match every month. I usually only take them apart every 2000 rounds or so. My son got a C-More for Christmas this year and that little buckmark rocks. I tell him he's cheating it's so fast. We usually shoot Federal Blue Box, Ely Sport, or Thunderbolts. Small drop of oil on the feed ramp and a drop of oil on the first bullet works well after 3 or 4 stages. I also have some long q-tips I swab out the feed ramp and bolt faces on each gun about 4 stages into the match. That's all they need.
  6. Does adding the RAM push the gun to ESP or is it still SSP?
  7. Does adding the RAM push you into ESP or will you still be SSP because it's an internal modification?
  8. I prefer the Comp-Tac.
  9. I just bought my Kids an M&P Pro and an L. What will the Sear and Striker block do for them? I already ordered the Comp Apex trigger for each. Will adding the sear and striker block bump them to ESP or will they still be able to shoot Stock?
