Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks guys. These are just meant for personal use - and agree easy to reposition as needed...
  2. Check it out... I put these together last month out of 1-1/2" PVC. I filled the cross members with sand and capped the ends before glueing the elbows, and then drilled holes in the long sections for drainage in case it rains (which it did the first time we used them)... each is just over 10#s which is great as I dont need sand bags like I did with some of the thinner metal stands for sale on ebay. The six inch pieces off of the tee's are not glued in so they are a bit easier to store and transport. [edit]... if you ... have any ideas for improvements, let me know. Thanks, Tom
  3. Really looking forward to the shoot - should be a great time! I'll be there at 8, and already prepped the family that it will be an all-day outing. I did not see anything yet about a texas star - it would be my first time shooting one so I'm hoping it will be out Tom
  4. Thanks guys - appreciate the responses and advice... A lot of good things to practice this winter Tom
  5. A's on first hit, C's on second - I realize I'm taking my eyes off my front sight with the second shot and looking at the target instead - working on fixing that...
  6. Hi folks. I started shooting at USPSA events earlier this summer and have been having a great time, trying to learn something new and improve at each match. Recently I have started working with a training partner timing ourselves and I am consistently at about a 1.9s draw to first shot, and consistenly around a .21/.22 split between shots. I tried a number of different scnearios - and a couple of times just going balls-out as fast as I can - but my splits dont seem to change, just my accuracy... I hope to get out a few more times this year for some additional practice, and then dry-fire and draw practice indoors this winter. I'm open to any advice or comments, but one question I have is at this stage in my progress, is focussing on speed the right thing given the times I have today (although I can see from other posts that a 1.9 definately has room for improvement). Regarding accuracy, these timing tests have been at around 12 to 15 yards on my right while walking a straight line down the target line (something I need a lot of work on)... Thoughts? Thanks, Tom _____________________________ Tom Amoroso
  7. Hi folks. Any USPSA matches this weekend (Oct 10/11) in Ohio? Thanks, Tom
  8. Thanks for a great match today guys! This was my first time at MRPC - good group (thanks Colin), good stages. I'll definately be back next month. Tom
  9. Earlier this year I built an open gun based on my Glock 17, added a deltapoint and had it milled into the slide by bowie tactical. he installed backup iron sites dovetailed into the slide as well. I went all out with the gun - SJC 5-port comp, KKM barrel, edge trigger kit from Glock Triggers, etc. It shoots very well, and the sight is nice and bright. my problem now is that I really like shooting production so I am considering selling the open 17... the deltapoint is a great site and I would recommend it... Thanks, Tom
  10. What have folks purchased? The 7.5 MOA or the 3.5?
