So they have now changed the production list gun weight for the M&P Pro... It turns out my gun was well within the legal weight the whole time so I was bumped to open incorrectly...

I know rules are rules though, and while it stung, it was Amidon himself who made the final call... It had been weighed at other matches and passed... Same gun, same parts and same mags... The scale was on a picnic table but they calibrated several times and gave me a fair shake... It is what it is... I just want other people to be careful and check their quip! I shot the rest of the match with 10 rounds per mag and followed production rules... Finished 29th to Max Michel so I'm cool with that... So many people that day got bumped to open!

So I had quite a surprise at area 7 this year when my production rig weighed over by .3 and i was was bumped to open... S&W M&P Pro with a KKM barrel and apex competition kit... Mags with Speed Shooters Specialties ESP base pads... Just a reminder to everyone out there to double check all their equip... I didn't! Whoops... All 3 production shooters in our squad got bumped to open... All for different reasons...

The fn rear sight I have wiggles around a lot... Not the base but the sight blade itself... Anyone else notice this? Is this something to be concerned with? Any recommended aftermarket sights?

Glad to find this info thread... My friend did an awesome job welding up the lifter on both of our slps but now some shells are getting stuck on the lifter on mine... Will try these tips and report back! Need to get er up and running smokth before our next local 3 gun... Thank u all!

I have problems with both eyes open... My right eye dominance is not particularly strong so I am constantly squinting a bit to for e my right eye to take over... Clear tape is not quite enough to force my right eye to take over... Still need to practice to build this skill...

Haven't had any extraction/ejection problems either but now I have to go knock on wood and order some spare parts!!

My backups backup M&P has 50,000 rounds on the recoil spring and I haven't noticed any ill effect... I don't shoot it very often but I haven't noticed any effect on dry fire!!

I'm losing sleep over changing to the load two method... I've weak hand loaded from a shell caddie for a few years but everyone seems to be moving to the load 2... So the carbon arms vest seems to be the most common... Any downsides or disadvantages?

The magpul AFG's and other VFGs r usually less stable for bracing on top of a barricade depending on the barricade and positioning... Moving or removing VFGs would def provide an advantage/more stable position on some stages... Havent seen that happen and most ro's wouldnt be looking for it... Never thought about that bumping u to open in some matches...

We have some pistol shooters in our club who freak out at just the thought of a 3gun event taking away from the draw of the pistol matches so we have to be very careful with our treatment of our steel and do not engage steel with slugs... We get blamed for people outside the matches using target stands and steel and punching holes through it with rifle or punishing them with shotguns... Paper targets for slugs make people call their shots and know their equip and we can paste them with packing tape so that's our only option currently

We also always have a few shooters who are complaining that they can't sling a gun or abandon it on the ground... Do those techniques play in other matches?

smaller buckets are also used for abandoning handguns... They are usually attached up higher so u dont have to bend down... Barrels are great for abandoning long guns... U attach a leg support system with a cross piece for rigidity and it works great... Just make sure u drill weep holes for the rainy matches... We put carpet padding at the bottom and up the inside for those complaining about their equip getting beat up...

So if a competitor engages a target with the incorrect gun (Engages pistol target with rifle) and the course of fire dictates that this is a proceedural... Is it still a proceedural if the target was already engaged with the pistol? The target was technically neutralized by the pistol yet when the scoring comes on paper targets a proceedural is noticed since there is a rifle hole on paper... Is it a proceedural?

I've seen a manufacturers site say it reduces recoil by 5% but I've never used a ported choke... Like Kurt said it would strip their wad iand mpede flitecontrol wads from doin their thing and would subsequently open up those patterns rather than tighten them

The DMPS 3g1 is a good starter rifle too... I ran one til I got my Noveske and it ran like a champ...

Seems unfair unless every shooter gets one... I'm not sure that buying ur way out is the answer to Murphy's law... I've had plenty of stages where I couldve used one but the rules for reshoots are pretty fair and operator error/ equip malfunctions r part of the game... Is this a time plus scored event? Isn't there a scoring system using time plus where stage points r still awarded? If ur talking about awards/prize table couldn't u award stage wins as part of ur match?

They are awesome targets... And super fun to shoot... The hitch for reset is to double check someone pulled the pin... I've seen a few reshoots because someone forgot to pull the pin after getting it all set up... Totally putting a barrel in front of it next match... Thanks!

Can ur buddy post pics of the c-rum mods? Do they take out material from the sides of the receiver or just around the loading port at the follower?

Some people have said they have had trouble with low recoil slugs in the slp but I haven't had any issues at all... Didn't break it in with anything other than target loads and it runs low recoil like a champ... Knock on wood... The full power stuff will obviously run but sighting it in can give u a sore shoulder if ur doping for extended ranges... The low recoil is noticeably more pleasant to shoot
