  1. The P320 AXG Legion Comp has the same slide ports as the P365 Macro and should be acceptable to IDPA.
  2. A new shooter here had at least three light strike misfires in a nearly new Canik. Ammo was factory Blazer Brass. This had to be discouraging to our novice, but fortunately there was another Canik shooter in the group and they swapped around for the rest of the match. He is an experienced shooter and tinkerer and offered to to respring and check out the gun for the new Lady.
  3. An external modification not allowed in SSP but ok in ESP. But I think it would take a small minded MD to disallow it if you really needed it to load the gun.
  4. I worked down to f 118 which I use in a Glock 43 for GSSF Pocket. I did not try to go lighter.
  5. But that won't help me keep up with the Joneses by updating my barrel to the limit.
  6. Now that IDPA allows superfluous holes in the barrel, what is an effective pattern and where to have it done? I was thinking Magnaport's Autoport with slots EDM though barrel and slide, vs the top row of round holes (Popple holes?) vs angled holes (SA V10).
  7. So the chicks don't get a break any more. My protege will be affected.
  8. Ibejiheads arrived today, right at 4 weeks. Well packed, bags in boxes in a flat rate box completely taped up.
  9. My third order from ibejiheads is in there somewhere. In 2021 I got delivery in three weeks, in 2022 I got delivery in eight weeks. I am now three weeks in, so I am not worried... yet. ETA, I just found a shipping notice in e-mail, due Wednesday, probably arrive Thursday by usual performance.
  10. Staccato says the XC compensator is "integrated", not integral. I think we need to inspect one with a big wrench to see if it is removable. But the XC MUST be acceptable, else the rule change is senseless. There are not enough guns out there with only superfluous holes in the barrel to warrant consideration.
  11. We used to have Robert Ray, who would at least give the HQ version and not leave it up to a multitude of ACs, kind of like district judges.
  12. That is what I thought early on but that isn't what erwos' AC said. Staccato says their XC compensator is "integrated" which I take to mean it is faired into the slide and frame contours, not "integral," one piece with the tube. I will surely ask my AC but I will not see him until next month. Have to get him to rule on my vest as suitable for wear to the grocery store, too. The Macro seems to be the gun the change was made to suit I am sure we will see a bunch of popple holes, but wonder if the Magnaport Autoport will turn up. I have seen exactly one of these, many years ago, as a factory feature on the Michigan Armament Co's 1911. .
  13. Oops, the Spectre comp is removable, not allowed. One AC has said no compensator is allowed.
  14. I had thought to start with that an integral compensator would fit the bill, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought there would be rulings like that. That eliminates the Staccato XC, which otherwise seems a good example of the modern ESP. And Sig says their Spectre Comp is removable which is specifically not allowed.
  15. Right, it looks like we now have divisions written especially for the P365 Macro and its new big brother the P320 Spectre Comp. Redefining CCP and ESP.
  16. Sounds like a 2023 IDPA ESP/CO.
  17. I doubt my AC/MD is woke enough to start making fashion pronouncements on guns and attire. We shall see; my older vest, home sewn by a club member's Mother, has my Team Mediocre logo, my Armadillo has my sponsors' logos (both of them.)
  18. I got a look at a Macro and don't see that design having a lot of effect on recoil. It is functionally the same as those bushing comps for 1911s, it has to clear the barrel in recoil, there is no baffling to direct gas out the slots.
  19. I have an original German SL Variant for my Python. Pro: Easy to load, adjustable for bolt circle, I could use it for either Colt or S&IW L. Con: Takes a harder push to release than Safariland. I don't have a Speedbeez but I see that the rounds are retained by a circular spring like the old Dade which I do have. Pro: Easy to load Con: Weak hold on ammo. Sidebar: TK will cut your .44 Magnum for moon clips. Pro: Very fast reloads Con: $200 to machine, $8 per clip; and you need a lot. Must specify Starline or Hornady/Speer/some other. M. Ayoob had a .44 Magnum converted to .44 Automag.
  20. Well, if you already own it, take it along and find out. Get the drama over with, if any. I would not buy anything for the purpose without some field reports on what gets in and what doesn't.
  21. I don't think "perma attached" qualifies as "integral." In fact, the more I think about it, the more I would fear that even if it were machined all in one piece, it might be disallowed as not suitable for all day carry. Nope, specifically not allowed in any division, it is not part of the gun or the barrel.
  22. I assume it is, by the letter of the rules, but I don't know how they will be interpreted on the range. No, next year is when they increase the magazine capacity in ESP/CO to match SSP and obsolete all the single stack guns.
  23. How about if an expansion chamber compensator is machined integral with the barrel. Just as big and effective, no pins or threads.
  24. Every little bit helps, just look at Open Steel guns. Comp would have to be integral with barrel. Maybe a Tribrid.
  25. The main condition I see is a firing pin indention right in the middle of the primer. Hard to see how you can get "out of battery" enough to expose case sidewall without the Browning pattern barrel tipping down enough to take the firing pin to the edge of the primer if not completely off of it. I have a design for a testbed but my FLG may be too retired to make it for me.
